  • We are at quarters of FDNY Engine 84 and Ladder 34 at 513 West 161st Street, where we see both companies respond 1+1 around the corner to Box 1686 at 516 West 162nd Street between St. Nicholas Avenue and Broadway for a Class III alarm. Battalion 13 was also responding, but didn't even make it in, as the alarm was reset before they could get there. Engine 84 is a 2009 Seagrave Marauder II. Ladder 34 is using a spare 2005 Seagrave Marauder Tiller Ladder with a 100 foot stick. Enjoy the view of the full house response. If you have any questions about the video, feel free to message me. Comments are welcome. The video was taken on October 29th, 2019.

      It's easy if you have your rear steering. You wanna try doing it on a fixed trailer! That's a bitch!

      Never seen one in Miami... and we have pretty tall buildings here. The only one I have seen is the firetruck with a ladder with it.

    Question, the 45 degree swivel below the officer, on the bumper, is an intake I assume, like every other one I’ve ever seen anywhere. What is the connection within the bumper, below the driver? Another intake or a discharge? I’ve never seen another department with that exact setup. Obviously I’ve seen trash or bumper lines and their respective discharge but the one below the drive looks like a 2nd large diameter connection, that is strange to me.

    did you say spare 2005 tiller? wow, thats nothing LA's spares are at the oldest from the mid 90's. 25 years is normal lifespan for an LAFD rig. lol. that tiller is literally as new as half of the front line tillers in the LAFD. we have pierces now, but those are few, and it took 3 years for them to enter service after being purchased.

    For a department as big as FDNY you use duck tape for spare unit numbers LMAO.

    How come there is always one person getting in after the fire truck pulls out onto the road? Do they have paperwork and location info about the fire/incident?

    • @Firemandan51
      @Firemandan51 3 года назад +1

      My guess?
      Door closer. If they’re like my FD, we’re not grown up enough to be allowed a button in the truck to close the door, only a button that opens the door. They think we will close the door on the truck as it is pulling out.
