Hi Tony. I too had this gun a few years ago and did not like it. The reason we like it now in my opinion was the introduction of the HD tips ( high delivery) it brought the fluid output closer to the usual guns we paint with. I have the 1.4hd version and it's my favourite gun. Thanks for the review
I had the same version mate honestly I just didn’t get on with it lol , I think tbh it’s probably because these days I pick up so many different guns each month to do different videos / jobs with ive Just got used to being abit more diverse in use and opinion too
Hi Tony, quick question, since base coat is finer than clear, if I have 1.3 nozzle for base, should I go for a 1.4 nozzle for clear? or do I have to match 1.3 both of them? Thanks
1st time i used the gun it was a water hose runs every where. Did you reduce wth activator ? by how much. Also my settings were ,Bottom wide open/fan wide open and 3.5 out from closed fort he fluid.29 psi

Most of the guys who I know that spray every day prefer the supernova. Gotta get one Looks like near no fall out. Most everything goes right on the panel as well. I think you and the gunman have totally different styles and are the best spray guys on the tube. Refinish network is also a good channel but too much leaning on BASF. good material but super high prices.

Great video. I been wanting a Supernova for quite some time now. I have two Iwata lph 400s. Ones for base the other is for clear. I love how I can get the clear to lay like glass with my lph 400. As of now Im out of the bodyshop and working at a commercial Fab shop. So we are using Imron Axalta single stage, and I been using my Sata 5000 hvlp 1.5 to spray with. I been spraying with it since July of this year. It took awhile for me to get use to so now I'm liking it but I sure do miss spray with my Iwata's.
I agree 100% with your review! I have the same gun with their 14 hd. Excellent video... I adjust my settings to get the finish I want. I use standox 15-60 (2to1) if I spray with reducer I turn the fluid in. If I don’t I use full trigger and 2 turns out on the fan. Thanks for the review !

please forgive my ignorance, I want to shoot 2k clear for hobby projects. Small parts. Should I just use my airbrush and reduce it or get a good but less expensive gun?
Honestly an airbrush would be no good for anything larger than a very small piece , if you look on our videos we did a £10 gun review something like that would be better for what your looking at
@@TonysRefinishingTV That is what I was thinking. So hear is my next question. I have a cheap gun but don't know what the nozzle size is. A friend gave it to me. I recently bought a tekna prolite with two air caps TE20 and te10.. good all around gun but it doesn’t lay down single stage or HS clear like my old iwata w400 can (heavy orange peel) But I’ve heard great things about that other air cap t110 that it can lay clear down much better than the other caps; so my question is should I just buy a supernova w400 or buy the T110 air cap for my tekna?
