    It’s worth the money.

    Best way to set up your fan is open up the fan fully up set your pressure you want to use then start winding the fan in once the psi starts to rise that’s where you want the fan

    I recently got one of these and have been using it for clear for the past week or so and I'm really impressed. At first it was making me nervous because I was sure I was going to run it but the transfer efficiency is amazing and it's atomizing perfectly I'm used to being much more careful and making a lot more passes to get a smooth finish

    I appreciate the fact you have someone in there filming you that hood angle was different for sure. I was having issues with my LPH400. Fan pattern splitting sometimes... weird unevenness etc. I looked at the fluid tip and realized this is an iwata and I needed to do some research. Turns out most every iwata should be turned in on the fluid

    I usually open my fan all the way and go in 3- 3-1/2 turns in i set my fluid wide open. My base and clear coat guns dont have regulators i listen to the air pressure itself also while. Spraying base coat metallics my first coat may be nice and even but if i notice my second coat applying like my first tells me too much air. Usually means tiger stripes and model the main thing for me is watching how it hits the panel

    Using a iwata 300 for base an SATA jet4000rp for clear coat know one thing I've learned every single gun that I've ever used each Khan has its own specifical use and feel sometimes you got to put the fan pattern up out in a little bit more material little bit last I never keep the same material settings and fan settings to out my painting history if it looks a little dull I ad a little more material if it looks a little too wet high-back it off and sometimes clear depending on the clear and how much too clear is reduced and how much the base is reduced usually I do a 12-1 on the base and I try to use a good premium basecoat and I use a good clear coat and the stuff I'm using now is glasurit to 2 1 1 if you don't reduce it it is a high-solids euroclear and it'll seems like it'll be peely on you so I reduce it down a little bit sometimes more than the one to get a real nice flow but everybody has their own way of spraying you get to know the guns in the materials and you can lay down a fantastic job put me in the battlefield with any of them with any of their guns and I guarantee you mine's going to come out looking pretty good and I don't like spring clear at too low of PSI. Nor do I like it too high of PSI I think the manufacturer on the clear that I use says about 10 to 13 PSI and I liked it at about 20 to 25 and sometimes more so there were the only two guns I like to use I'm sure there's other ones I've had this at a jet 2090 all of them these are my two best guns in the Sata 95 for spraying enamels and clears and also high-solids primer and then I got a 400 iwata for spray primer

    I have the the older WS400 and the new Iwata WS400 series 2. I can already tell that the new one is way better in atomizing the material (clear) and yes they corrected the finicky setup. Sprays more even now with fluid/fan wide open. The old one i am spraying @ 26 PSI the new one is around 16 PSI so less over spray. The only thing is now that the material is being sprayed evenly across the pattern you might have to go up fluid/needle one size up from what you usually use if you like to spray faster.

      What you mean ‘way better’? And, how you are spraying clear at 16 psi?

    • @haroldm1956
      @haroldm1956 2 года назад

      @@walterwalters3069 Way better in a way that the full fan wide open is spraying the material evenly across the pattern with softer edge. The old one you have to make the fan pattern smaller since it has the problem pattern splitting (heavier top/bottom). The problem with that is now making the center too heavy. The series 2 fixed the problem. Still have to dial it in if needed since some uses high solid clear vs medium. I am using high solid clear (unreduced) and with 16-17 psi I have no problem spraying it that low. Normally my series1 one I am at 25-26 psi.

    • @walterwalters3069
      @walterwalters3069 2 года назад +1

      @@haroldm1956 Sorry but I didn't see anything new from Anest Iwata advertising. Yes, they made the smaller fan compare to original WS400 and that all... Only new digital gauge there. Plus Pete from UK made a video about it so will see soon...As I know the upgrade is minimal as they did with Belaria and LPH series. Way better for me when you compare the Harbor freight spray guns and WS400 or Dv1 or Sata5500.....but not for this upgrade..... IMHO

    • @haroldm1956
      @haroldm1956 2 года назад +1

      @@walterwalters3069 I have seen Pete's from UK video take on it and the Iwata advertising video is somewhat misleading since set up wise is very material dependent whether high/medium solid clear. You still need to set up accordingly. Now where they get right is easier to set up and just like what I said I am spraying at 16-17 psi on the series 2 from 25-26 psi on series 1. All I can say is if you have the chance to try it when they release in your area if you can find a distributor. You can not say that there are not a lot of improvements to justify the purchase if you have not try it IMHO. Now if you happy with your current spray gun then stick with what you have. Did I say since I am spraying at a lower pressure I am saving about 20% material as a result. If you are in a commission based shop that material saving counts.

    Fantastic video Mario I don't own the WS400 but have heard that the fan setup is a bit odd on that gun but winding it in helps, either way you got a nice flat finish on the car mate it looks mint👌
    The WS400 series2 came out here on the 1st of June and I know a few people that use it and they all say it's a great improvement on the old one as they have sorted the fan so it's now even when on full. I was going to get one but of course my compressor decided to play up on me so I've got to get a new one, such is life! 🤦‍♂️😂 thanks for doing these videos Mario and it's great to see your channel is growing nicely👏👍John UK

    Me and the other painter at my work have this friendly competition on who can achieve the best results in our paint work. Im using strictly Teknas and hes using the LS400 and a Sagola. The difference in our work is very minimal. I know the LS400 is a better base gun, he also uses it for clear sometimes. But in your opinion is the difference night and day or just a tad better

      Hey jimmy just saw your comment. In my opinion I believe the Tekna is a more all around gun compare to the LS400. Not a huge difference to answer your question. However I can use a harbor freight gun and get better results than a person using a top gun. What I’m trying to say is if I prep better my end result will be better.

      Because it has such a wide fan pattern you have to turn in the van a few turns to control the overspray. But remember the more narrow the fan becomes the pressure gets hire. Which means if you make the fan more narrow u have to drop the pressure or increase your speed.

      @@swav100 the tip you use could change base on a few things… like how hot it is, the type of gun you’re using, or how thick the clear coat is. Truth be told tho I have never used a 1.4 tip in any gun except for this one. If you using 1.2 or 1.3 there’s nothing wrong with that.
