- For the 2023 model year, @kia has refreshed its most popular vehicle and given it some new off-road tech and trims!
We were invited out to @peltierkia865 in Tyler Texas to check out their latest shipment of the new 2023 Kia Telluride models and we picked 3 to compare for you: the volume seller EX, the new X-Line and X-Pro trims.
All three of these would make nice additions to any garage, and pack a lot of new tech and interior options. The EX had a gorgeous mahogany-colored interior, the X-Line had some slick new black 20" wheels, and the X-Pro not only had all the luxury you would expect from a premium 3-row SUV, but has added ground clearance, all-terrain tires, and improved approach/departure angles.

Really appreciate seeing the mahogany--our 22 order is coming in 4 weeks and they switched it to 2023..we chose mahogany sight unseen…really like how they mixed with the black..looks really nice and wife is glad she chose it👍🏼… she got the sx..would have like to seen that…but you did a great job of giving us an idea..thank you

Are you guys selling for MSRP(or less😇) across the board?
@@hellkitty1014 We are currently selling them for over MSRP. Our market adjustment is not nearly as high as the nearby Metroplex areas, but it is present.
To my knowledge, no one nation wide is selling new Telluredes under MSRP.
Just bought my 22 SXP AWD a month ago, I absolutely love the interior of the 23 and was willing to wait but i cannot with the exterior changes. Personally that grill is horrendous, the removal of the amber daytime running lights is a loss since that’s what makes the telluride stand out from all the normal looking SUVs on the road and many more small changes to the 23s is something i don’t like.

The front styling is such a let down over the 22. The amber DRLs were a Telluride hallmark.
@@hellkitty1014 that’s one of the main reasons why I decided to buy the 22. Nothing else on the road (SUVs) makes the same statement as those amber DRLs. Removing it just destroys the telluride signature. They could have redesigned it but completely removing it it a total loss

Really not digging the amount of silver trim on these. Do we know if Kia is offering a 'nightfall edition' on this update?

Middle seat in bench makes sense to me for a infant seat and child seat, it's the safest place in car. Plus adults can sit on side if they want to.

I prefer captain chairs, even with kids. With that, I definitely think a bench needs to be an option on higher trims. Or allow the seats to shift left and right and lock into place.
@@DavidMartin-ud9gs I think Acura found the best middle ground, removable middle section, make it captains chair or bench. With first kid I would be getting visited from my family members. I don't like idea of putting adults in 3rd row, that's why I prefer bench.
I ordered mine with a bench in the middle due to the fact 99.9% of the time the 3rd row is down and I have two kids. Didn't cost any extra or take any off.
I got bumped to the 2023 XLine because my 22 nightfall didn't get filled but I don't like the front grill and bumper on 23 at all. They should have stuck with blackout with the proven demand of that look. I will either suck it up or go buy my third Toyota.

I am sooo sad to see the nightfall leave. Also I liked the letters on the hood, very Range Rover-y. I don’t understand these exterior updates and interior color changes 😢
@@katherinedvm expect small tweaks over the years as production catches up to demand.
Me and my buddies tried this SUV but the seat on the EX felt the most comfortable. The most expensive trim level seat just wasn't that comfortable at least for us.

Not sure it is even worth going up to the SX Prestige now that the EX has a substantial equipment increase. Definitely the value leader.

@@ingjoe1 nah I like them because they look incredibly sharp. They are a bit aggressive and not my favorite but they look more expensive than they are. Seem more appropriate for a calligraphy trim
If you can find one for 42k. I found a dealership for sale for 59k and I got it for 49k

I don’t believe that is an option at this time.
The refreshed lower front fascia is standard across the line? Hm, was hoping it was a X-Line/Pro exclusive. Not the most attractive refresh up front, but the new DRL’s make up for it.
A lot of people are wanting a nightfall package so it is blacked out. Can’t say I disagree. We will see what Kia does over time.
Glad they moved the TELLURIDE off the hood. That look was way too industrial looking. Jeep should take a note.

Yes. The SX-Prestige has the touch pad, other models have the push bottons on the handles.
Anyone notice on the SX X-Line (middle car in video) on the sticker listed 'Black" as interior color; clearly, the leather was terracotta.;)
Yes. These early models rolled out with some stickers that have typos.

They’re all listed as black, but they’re listed as coming with package 12 which is terracotta
Anybody have any insight on the X line and X pro seat trims? According to the leak information on the 2023 TEllurides, only the X pro trims gets the nappa leather, but it looks like he SX X line trim and the SX-P X Pro line both have the same stitching for the seating. Only the Prestige packages should have the Nappa leather. If anyone knows if the SX X line on this video has the Nappa leather please commment! This is the only factor that will decide whether I get the SX Xline or the SX Prestige X line
According to the window stickers of the three in this video, seat trim on the SX X-Line is leather, the SX-Prestige X-Pro was nappa leather.
You will only get Napa leather on SX-P

I ordered my Kia Telluride last Monday for MSRP here in MA. Balise KIA West Springfield. I test drove a 22 at another dealership (Gary rome KIA enfield CT) and they did have a markup. About 7%

Love all the updates, will miss the amber daytime lights but don’t mind the new ones. But the one big zonk is the front grill doesn’t have the nightfall option. I loved the all blacked out grill….I’d have to customize that into it…but why leave out the nightfall option??

Thanks for watching. My suspicion is that the nightfall will return. It is not easy to revamp a vehicle in the midst of a parts shortage. I say just give it time.

I feel like the wheel design lately for Kia has been on the decline. The K5 series wheels are ugly IMO, except for the GT trim.

Thank you for the video! I've been waiting for my Telluride here in Rhode Island to come in (ordered in February 2022) and NOBODY can seem to tell me if there is an EX AND an EX X-Line? If so, can you share the differences? Pricing differences too? Can you get fog lights as an option on the EX? I am getting annoyed that none of this information is available on Kia's website 😞

Does the XLine and XPro have the same shade of chrome accents for exterior? XPro seems darker but wasn’t sure if that was due to lighting.
I do believe it is due to lighting and the moss green paint on that X-Pro, nothing I see online (or in my photos www.gtgaragetalk.com/post/kia-updates-their-most-popular-vehicle-for-2023 ) show it to be darker. just a visual trick. so weird.

You can get an SX in FWD ($45,490), AWD ($47,490), X-Line AWD ($48,885), or X-Pro AWD ($49,885)
When I was gonna buy a telluride back in 2021 they was charging 20k over market I said NOPE bought a new Mercedes Benz SUV awd 😊 (for that same price ) but I like the interior update the dash reminds me of my Mercedes interior dash very luxurious update indeed Kia has done

I wanted the telluride but they’re too expensive if u wanted prestige now so i got the 2023 Hyundai palisade Sel premium package is the best bang for your. Idk trust me! And it has the same features and looks better

Great review and video ! All KIA has to do is drop the price it's alm about the same price I paid for my Ford F150 truck . I am wondering if KIA will offer new a engine lineup the 3.8 is fairly thirsty but pretty reliable and proven .

The 23 headlights are a step backwards in my opinion. It was so different from anything on the market.
I’m curious how these will sell in the current market environment. Yes, the headlights lost that uniqueness, but was that the only reason people loved Telluride?

Yes, a dealership would be your first stop. Some, like the one I visited to film this, actually have some sitting on the lot that you can test drive and buy on-site. Others require an order and waiting.

We are at $7000 over MSRP at the moment and can order from factory for the same price..so the SX is at $57,000. I guess I will wait a bit and take my chances?! This is stressful 🤞😕

For some reason they force the all terrain wheels for the extra towing capacity 😑 is it noisy enough to be a real bother, or is it still a comfortable experience? Trying to decide if the 500 extra pounds of towing is worth the wheel noise, or if it's better to just get the xline for the regular wheels.
It wasn’t that bad. Though we drove a Jeep Trailhawk daily, so we are used to it.

Not if you order online. You only pay the extreme markups if you buy a vehicle already on the lot.

The Cherokee Overland is a better vehicle all around. And the dealers aren't charging 8k above sticker

I really liked the halo around the headlights. It made it look very spaceage and I'm not a fan of the new headlights. The dash also is a downgrade imo. I like my physical gauges even if before they were still not directly connected to anything. That being said my 2020 just went over 52k miles and Im still of the opinion I'm just going to buy another one when it hits 100. I am dismayed that the price has creeped up to over 50k. When I bought mine in 2020 it was 37k out the door.

A 3.0 / 3.8 - V6 with hybrid or 3.0 / 3.8 - V6 with plug in hybrid ... the cream on the cake - height adjustable suspension ... that will seriously blow the competition away
Won’t be long. They have hybrid and plug-in hybrid models of both the Sorento and Sportage.
