    Snow mode is basically the catch all off road mode. From what I can tell it just makes the throttle less twitchy and holds gears. Without the center coupling turned on it sends power to the rear 100% of the time rather than resigning it to on demand

    You should be able to take the family camping and have a daily driver. Of course I wouldn't recommend getting into the really rough stuff. But a nice dirt road that may be in between maintenance. Or help you get home from work if you unexpectedly get caught in weather. This video puts me in mind of a video I watched where a guy explained why he got a Subaru. He said he already had a dedicated offroader, but his offroader made a horrible daily driver. He figured the Subi would make a comfortable daily driver and still work for most weekend camping trip's. That's what I think the Telluride might work for. Just probably not good for the hardcore trails.

    I have a 21 EX with AWD and I added a 2 inch lift with bigger all terrain tires, which gives me more clearance than the X Pro. This is definitely a good sign though, and hopefully they'll get closer to a 4 runner one day. Love my Telly!

      Wtf tellurides don't have a center locking differential lol. That's a nice little fib kia uses to make buyers think it can actually go offroad
      The first hole in the Kia Telluride’s off-road prowess is the claim of having a “locking” differential. According to Driving Sports TV, the Telluride’s “locking differential” is actually just a mechanism that locks the rear power transfer clutch. Not to mention, it will let go if it feels overworked. I mean, that’s just not a locking differential. The whole point of locking diffs is that, well, they lock

    With no off road mode or changes to the grill to increase approach angle, this kit seems like more of an appearance package than anything. I found a puck spacer lift kit for the Telluride online for $500. Throw that on there with some slightly bigger BFG Trail Terrains and you get all the ability of the X-Pro without having to pay the premium for the top of the line version.

    • @chrisss73841
      @chrisss73841 2 года назад +1

      I agree. Most of the crossover "off-road trims" can be built yourself for waaay less. Unless they are adding a locker/LSD and lifting it 3-4" with new wishbones, there isn't much point in paying the premium.

    • @creampiess
      @creampiess Год назад

      Bad take. The price difference is only 1k for the x-line then another 1k for the x-pro. If your talking like a base model with AWD added, then your missing a ton of features for the price difference. But apples to apples EX AWD vs EX x-line is only 1k, and you get the lift, blacked out look, and a better wheel setup. Thats a small price to pay for all of that, no brainer.

    Congrats on the invite. Wife and I loved her 2020 Telluride. It was worth a ton and she wanted something a little smaller so now she's in the Forester Wilderness. My opinion is it's a great CUV with a really cramped center console. Everything else is nice about it besides the power steering turning off with the ASS feature, pretty dangerous IMO. She probably would have stayed in one if had the wilderness' aggressive styling. It was just too mommy mobile, even though we've got two kids. Plus she's jealous of my Jeep Gladiator.

    We ordered a 2022 Telluride that came with the standard Telluride driveline vibration. A year and a half of trips to the dealer and I still have the vibration and 4 wrecked rims and 20 damaged wheel bolts. It's great for in town trips ( or maybe off roading) If I want a vibration free ride I have to take my 26 year old Isuzu Trooper!!!!!!!

    Use to have 4runner trd pro that was lifted and AT tires. Miss it but hated the highway steering wheel shake and also the tire noise.
    Was the awd lock on when you were in the semi mud? Very interested in this since recently a friend got his car stuck in mud.

    16:07 the course can't be too tough if you can do it with an uncovered cup and not have it spill everywhere. Or maybe the Telluride's suspension is just that good?

  • @henrycruz45cal

    You joked about it but the tires are the only difference between my Sportage X-line and the X-Pro so I did buy a set of 17" rims and a set of BFGoodrich Trail-Terrain T/A that comes on the X-Pro. Now I have two cars 😊

    Great collaboration guys! I guess this is what's hot right now, brands coming out with the off-road capable look and improved capability away from the shopping malls!
    Looks like the '23 Pilot Trailsport will take you a bit deeper off-road than the Telluride but I'd guess the Kia will have more available standard safety features/technology? When the Honda Pilot Trailsport is revealed a 3-way comparison with the Kia Tellluride X-Pro and Nissan Pathfinder Rockcreek would make for an interesting video!

  • @michaeljennrich8527

    By solely comparing the Colorado trails that Honda put the Pilot Trailsport on (you can find those videos on RUclips easily) Kia has let down those in the public who like these new softroader trim/classes. Yes, neither are Jeeps. We're a young family in a Mountain state in the US and these are interesting choices. Unfortunately, think Kia missed a chance to lead this sub-trim/class for outdoor-type weekenders. If you push any of these 3 rows far enough any little changes from base models can increase your safety levels when being careful offroad.

Think I'm just hoping for a decent update for the Explorer Timberline or look into a Disco 5, or 6 if it comes out by that time.

Found lots exactly what I want buy either "we can't sell to you as you're too far from us", "yeah it's a $5k-$12k markup", or "yeah we have it but don't sell because you're out of state" :(..

    The last I heard, the 2023 Telluride does not come with a spare tire. Instead, you get a Tire Mobility Kit. FWIW, that kit will be useless in case of a blowout or serious sidewall damage. If you're out in the boonies when it happens, getting a tow truck or car carrier to get your car to a tire dealer could be tricky. But even if that's possible, a lot of service vehicle drivers are no longer allowed to carry passengers. So you still have to get yourself back to civilization. Good luck on getting a friend or relative to rescue you. Obvious moral of the story: carry a real spare if you're planning to take your Telluride off-road.

I wish TFL would call it as it is, instead of giving this a positive review as an "off-road" vehicle. Your words. I think there was more 4x4 engineering that went in the man made course you put it over, vs the vehicle. When buyers of this vehicle see some of the marketing, they will absolutely try to take it off road. It'll all end in tears.
