Every team is loaded with NBA players. In 1992, there were 23 international players. Now it is 125. No team is gonna be starstruck by these players. People around the world would be lucky if they saw two NBA games a year in 1992. Social media has changed everything. All the dudes are just regular now.
And our best players are not in their prime, we are old. Young teams can outwork and outrun us, that's why Ant is so critical he's a 2 way and has young legs. And Tatum who's in his prime and still in shape from the finals. So not only is the world not star struck, they actually see Curry Bron and KD and think oh they old and don't even make deep playoff runs anymore. The playoffs were dominated by mid 20s guys this year
Well the foreign guys now have players that they can actually build around to win. Back in the day their best guys were truly role players with a few exceptions. Now they are MVPs of the league.

A big difference between the dream team and the current teams is that the past star players also knew how to play as role players. They weren't just scorers but knew how to pass, screen, and especially cut. That made them more versatile and interchangeable, but too many high level modern players are scoring specialists who are less valuable when not the #1 option.

I was in Europe earlier this year and I noticed two things: 1. There are way more tall people (6’2+) in Europe. 2. They play basketball everywhere

That is besides the point. The point is why is team USA winning by single digits against foreign teams. Now, it can be due to a number of factors such as foreign teams now have more nba players, players on the USA team do not have compatibility etc. The average height in Europe or wherever has nothing to do with how the pro players in any country/team perform.

Guys, let me explain something. I’m 47 years old. I say that because I grew up during the age of the personal computer and the rise of the internet. Forget what you read on google about the internet. It was not wide spread until the late 90’s/very early 2000’s! Was it around before that? Yes, but in very limited quantities. Prior to the late 80’s most people did not have personal computers in their home. The world for the most part was still post internet. I say all this to say, with the popularity of the internet giving these other countries access to what was going on here in the states, those kids grew up mimicking what they saw. Eventually they caught up or is close to catching up. The NBA is not as popular as soccer around the world, but it’s second to soccer in most places. The world is now smaller(not technically)! Overseas kids are growing up playing ball like us! It will never go back to us blowing out teams by 30 - 40 points! Like they mentioned, so many of these teams have NBA players on the squad!
Bro just because they have the opportunity to play in the NBA, doesn't mean they're playing against CBA players, these guys can actually play now. The USA has to take the games more seriously. I don't think they're even giving 75% effort.

We're starting to see how important Kobe Bryant was to Team USA. He used to get all of them RIGHT. Curry, LeBron, KD and all these guys aren't the leaders Kobe Bryant was. You need a real strong leader to get a team of guys all making 8 figures a year, top of their craft, to buy in and work like they've never accomplished anything.
