I literally just did this in 10 minutes! It's actually the best haircut I've had in years! I am so sick of paying for HORRIBLE haircuts!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

All the other DIY haircut videos need to be removed and yours should be the only one up. Seriously. This is so simple and I've been using this method since you posted this. My hair comes out perfect every single time. I love the style and all the volume it creates. I've used other methods in the past before I started using yours and it wold take me forever to give myself a trim that looked good. I don't think I ever thanked you or told you how my hair turned out but I'm doing so now. I love this tutorial and how my hair turns out every time. THANK YOU!!!

I used this technique today and i have to thank you from the bottom of my hair lol, my hair is so long it almost reaches my bum it is also so thick i have to use hair bands to tie it up so finding a hair dresser that WONT take away too much length is a nightmare, i went to a hairdresser a few years ago and she cut my hair from hip to ear i cried for weeks. so now i dont let ANYONE touch my hair which as you can imagine leaves it looking none too healthy as it doesnt get cut very often at all. so i tried this today and my hair feels SOOOO much healthier and i still have all my length but my layers are beautiful so thank you thank you thank you :) xx

I've done this cut few times and every time it turns out amazing! With this method you have more control to how much layering you want compared to other tutorials which you just kind of just hope that you don't screw up your hair. The layers turn out very even and without any harsh lines. I have short bangs also and the layers still turn out great. I also have naturally wavy curly hair and this cut looks great whether I leave my hair natural or straighten it. By far the best tutorial I've found! I've tried other tutorials and they all left my hair boring or a mess, even the ones that were by hair dressers.

I literally made an account just to tell you how great this tutorial is. Its so easy and its fool proof and it turns out so well. I saw another comment about how this should be the only video for how to cut hair into layers I agree! I have never had my hair cut this nicely and exactly how I imagined it. Thank you!

Thank you so much. For the first time in YEARS my hair is now the exact length I want it! "Professionals" always cut it too short, even though I am always so clear on how long I want it, and they never layer it right or evenly. Following your instructions, my hair came out perfect! Plus, I saved money and time, I didn't have to sit there for an hour and listen to the hair dresser's problems and issues and then pay for a cut that I am not happy with. Thank you so much. It took about 15 minutes because I was cautiously moving up an inch at a time, but it was so fast and easy. You are a Godsend! I have several parties and events to attend next week with the beginning of the holidays and I am so proud of how my hair looks, I can't wait to tell them and point them to your video!

I've used this tutorial of yours for years and now that everyone I know is in quarantine I've sent it to them for cutting their hair. This is the only reliable at-home hair cutting tutorial I've seen. People have told me that my hair looks better when I cut it with your method here than when a stylist does it.

Thank you for posting this video for cutting your own hair in layers. I tried someone elses video, and while it turned out good, it was more difficult to do and didn't yield as good of results as yours did. My hair looks and feels amazing after this hair cut and I will be cutting my hair this way from now on. I took pictures of my hair after and WOW! Such a difference and so much VOLUME!!! Ow! Ow! So I just tried it and it worked pretty well! The only thing I would do differently next time, is do more layered sections and instead of cutting straight angles, I would make feathered cuts so the edges don't look so blunt.. but I have really thick hair so I think it shows more. Thanks for the tips, it was really helpful :)

Thank-you Jennisse!!! I just cut my hair, using your method. I, like you had completely stopped going to salons, and like you said, they always cut it too short, or long in the back only. It is going to take a few months for my hair to grown out in places where I had started to attempt to layer it. I love your hair, it's beautiful! It's just what I want my hair to look like!!!

I've been trying to find the money to go to a salon to cut and trim my hair... My hair is long, a little bit past the middle of my back and it's thick as sh!t... I haven't had my hair cut in about 2 years! And I was thinking in my head, oh well I mine as well cut it myself since I gave myself a perfect bang :) I tried something like yours but It didn't do anything...
Tried your technique,,, I HAVE LAYERS UPON LAYERS IN MY HAIR!!! You are a life saver!!! I don't have to waste money on the salon when I can do just as good at home!!! Oh my God thank you so much for posting this video!!

i didn't want to give you a like or tell my sister and friends about your videos until I tried this myself and omg!!! i cut like 1 inch at first to practice your technique and i felt confident enough to try 2 inches more the results were perfect!!!! i have almost the same type of hair u have. I also had a lot of damage on my hair but it was easy to get rid of it with out having to compromise the lenght of my hair it looks fabulous!... all those hair stylist complaining, better know that when we ask for a 2 inch trim we dont mean a 4 inch trim lol that way we wouldnt havd to be searching for tutorials here on RUclips!. Thank You Sweetie!!

OK... So I watched this video several times trying to get up the nerve to do this. My hair is in a v shape and the longest part is just above my bum. I have been growing it out for years with only tiny tiny trims because it takes sooooo long to grow. I've been terrified. Now I have recently come to the conclusion though that my face shape is not ideal for long straight unlayered hair no matter how much I love the idea it just doesn't suit me. So I finally did it! This tutorial was awesome!! I LOVE the way my hair came out and I got to keep the length while having some texture to fit me and added volume that my thin, flat hair desperately needed! Thank you so much! I will be viewing more!!

I seriously can't 'like' this video enough times. My hair has never grown very fast. It's somewhere between mostly-wavy (summer) & mostly-straight (winter). After many years of painful damage from coloring and heat styling I'm almost exclusively a no heat curl and air dry straight girl these days. A year & a half ago I also switched exclusively to co-washing; it's never looked or felt so good. But finding the right salon/stylist/cut to keep it looking good has been extremely challenging. It's past the bottom of my bra strap in back (mid-chest length), but fine and I'm not blessed with tons of thick hair. I've had SCARY trips to the hairdresser trying to get it right and usually leave with the same frustration and tears you talked about - often trying to fix it the best I can when I get home. I am NOT a professional! After doing a LOT of research and seeing your results I was finally hopeful. Your video/method gave me EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED, and in no time flat! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

I love this video, thanks so much you make it so easy and it looks fantastic. I was cutting my own hair for the last year or so and decided to try a stylist a few weeks ago. I wanted a trim and he cut 3 inches from my hair. I was so mad and I vowed to just continue doing it myself from now on. It took me so long to finally grow it out and now I have to start over again. So frustrating! Thanks for the video :)

Thanks so much for this video, I've been through several other videos and this by far seems promising to me based on the comments as well. My hair is very long and it took me years to grow it, so I'm always afraid to go to the salon and get it done. My hair is just like yours too! Will be trying this tonight, you should definitely make a video on how to style it!

Thank u so much for this video, this is my first time commenting on any video and I'm so excited to try this when I get home. I love my king hair. And as a native I treasure it and this seems to be the best way to keep the long look.

Oh my god if i knew how to do this LONG time ago, I wouldn't be so skeptical about someone messing up my hair! Also saving up money just to get my hair messed up at a salon definitely does NOT make me happy. I just finished mine after watching this three times, and I LOVE how my hair turned out!! No one is ever touching this head again! Thank you so much! You're beautiful, and you rock! :)

This is seriously the easiest way anyone has ever posted on RUclips. I'm gonna have to try it. I already cut my own hair and my hair has been turning out great but sometimes the process of cutting my own hair takes forever. I've been able to grow it almost to my waist since I've stopped going to the hair salon. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS TUTORIAL!!! You've shown me an easier way to cut my own hair now :-)
