Every drummer has to try playing the Rosanna Shuffle. Very difficult, but a lot of fun when it works.

@@ragerelease613 for me is the problem to fit the Bo Didley kick in smoothly. We drummer have it easy as long it doesn't come to get 4 limps syncopated. Or even Latin stuff with slight variation in sixteens notes. Or Indien grooves. I guess those Drummers the can master and combine those Styles to help a Song are happy People.

gladly i was raised by my father, he was a big fan of toto and i grew up loving their songs. beyond incredible.

Toto lives forever in my heart. We're lucky to share century with them.
This band has probably the most impressive sound-configuration of any live-bands that I have ever heard/watched. The production of the stage sound focuses on QUALITY rather than quantity/loudness. And it's NOT only for a certain part of the audience .. but for ALL the arena. Trust me .. this is what it sounds for the audience . it is NOT amplified/cleaned/filtered in any way. Simon Philips on the drums is a magician .. and with Joseph Williams on the microphone ... Toto has it all.
Toto are pretty loud tho. I have seen them multiple times, if the venue has sub-optimal sound, their sound suffers. One of the few bands I had to use earplugs once on an open air. Musically they are still absolute session musicians (just to make clear I'm not trying to take anything away from them!). And one time I've seen them in the Porsche Arena in Stuttgart couple of years ago, a rather small but modern venue, the sound was really, really good. I still remember Steve's guitar work on While My Guitar Gently Weeps, it was crystal clear.

And he can sing too so luckather can let his voice rest:))..If u got a band who sounds equal to albums or even better, its ToTo. Period. (Simon;..come back please)...No one can/could replace him. Period.

A musical masterclass by Toto....live or recorded, these guys just nail it every time and always have....a song for vocals and a song for instrumental solos makes Rosanna an all time great in any genre, this performance brings smile to my face !!😀

And that is how you make yourself immortal. „Rosanna“ will still be listened to after we all are long gone. Needless to say, TOTO consisted of extraordinary musicians only, but with this song in particular in my opinion Jeff Porcaro raised himself a monument.

Lukather is an awesome guitarist. I first heard him as a session guitarist on some Richard Marx album in early, late 90s and knew he was a gun player. It's a shame the G3 concert tour with Satriani et al didn't record that tour with Lukather for a BluRay release, because Lukather could totally hold his own amongst almost any modern player.

And to add up, two Eagles members performed with Toto. TImothy B. Schmit sang backing vocals on Africa, I Won't Hold You Back, Rosanna, Good For You, Melanie, Mysterious Ways, and Mad About You. Don Henley was on the Fahrenheit album. And for me, in my opinion, Eagles should do this song and Africa as a tribute to Toto, with Joe Walsh doing Kimball's parts because of his Southern accent (Kimball is a Southerner).
