We screened them as carefully as you could back then, and checked with their references. They paid one month's rent, and after that NOTHING. It took an entire year to get them out of our home, and it was completely demolished when we got it back. We lost that place completely, and it still hurts to this day to look back on that season of our lives. I remember walking through and just being shocked and appalled at the condition our home was in. Shame on anyone who puts a landlord through this.

In my state, all evictions require a court order. Once the order is issued, it’s irrelevant why the tenant is being evicted. There’s ZERO negotiating, no more phone calls, no more excuses, and no delaying with the “me-no-speak-English” BS anymore. The terrible tenants are given a few minutes out of courtesy to get themselves and their things out after weeks and months of notice.
Evictions are just as brutal in my state. If the issue is payment alone, you can stop it but they make it so expensive with the fees that you end up tossed out anyway. That happened to one of my neighbors they tossed her stuff right off the balcony.
Pretty sure it's the same in the broadcasters state too. He usually gives them a few minutes to gather stuff, but also tries to talk to them with respect so they don't try and start a fight or stop them from moving stuff out. The few times someone has tried to act tough, he just calmly informs them that if they want to be clowns, they will just have the police remove them from the premise immediately or possibly face jail time.

The tenant failed. If it were a car, it would be repossessed. If it were a service contract, it would be frozen if not red-balled across the industry. For context, if the landlord danced away from his financial and other contract obligations like the tenant did, the property would be foreclosed. What’s “brutal” is the unrecoverable cost the landlord silently suffers.
All states end up going to a court order if the tenant doesn't leave. The tenant can go to the hearings and pro long the situation but that's doesn't change the fact their still poor

We had major flooding during hurricane Ida. People had to put their furniture on their lawns to strip the carpets and drywall. And on the street thieves came like human vultures and started stealing furniture and belongings from the lawns!! Stealing from hurricane victims!!! Sickening.

By looking at that mess, I don’t want nobody else’s junk and I’m just speaking for myself. My mom always taught us as a kids not to keep a bunch of stuff, if you haven’t used it or looked at it in awhile it’s time to get rid of it and that’s exactly what I do either throw it away or donate it.

I got laid off from my job once, and I didn't spend one day sitting around because I needed to pay my rent in 2 weeks..I knew I'd be short being that I lost my job.. I'm a 42 year old female and got up at 4am EVERYDAY to be at the daily labor place by 5am to ensure I'd get work that day..I went to construction sites to guide traffic, scrap yards, office buildings to take down cubicles and stadiums cleaning up after events..I get disability due to being burned on 70% of my body but don't make enough to pay everything.. you are allowed to work on disability just you can only make so much during the month.. there's no excuse for anyone not being a responsible contributing member of society.. if I can get my rent together in my conditions, so can these able bodied people on here.

People scavenge. That is their life.. they used to call them "The junk man".. they drive around, usually on garbage nights, and sift thru what is sitting in the curbside. They then sell, or rehabilitate and sell, or keep it and use it. I've seen them everywhere I've lived. In some areas it depended on.
One silver lining in all this is there was no dog running around looking scared and confused by what was happening, but there were children involved, which is always sad, but they looked happy and content, which is good.
The workers have to learn that even if it is your own people, they must do their jobs by putting them out, just like any other race. It is hard, but the law is the law.
Mr. Penn, what makes you such an angel is that in all of your videos I’ve watched, you never demoralize these folks getting evicted. You never demean them. You stay cool, calm and collected when their misdirected anger is hurled at you. You even advocate for them and their belongings, like when that idiot in the baseball cap stood there and basically inventoried everything coming out…subtly hinting to him to either help them out or kick rocks. This is probably the lowest moment in a lot of peoples lives, being evicted from their dwellings. This is a job that someone has to do, and you sir, do it with grace and dignity. The owner took rent money in May and this eviction is taking place in May. If the tenant is a documented US citizen then they’d better seek legal counsel if they’re entitled to a refund. Taking money AFTER a court ruling seems illegal.
After the processor talked to management the renter said I paid my rent and processor said they don’t want your money so someone probably took the money at the property mgmt office without knowing the backstory. That’s what I got out of it anyway.
They weren't being evicted for unpaid rent they were being evicted for environmental reasons. If it is stated in the lease that allowing the property to deteriorate to the to the point where it becomes a health hazard you can be evicted the day you pay your rent. The eviction process takes quite a while and has to go through the courts and the renters were well aware of why they were being evicted and they did not take the necessary steps to stop the eviction by cleaning up the property. They don't deserve nor are they entitled to a refund.
I was in property management for over 15 years and sometimes evictions are so hard and sad. Especially when the residents are trying, but the simply aren’t able to make ends meet and have no option but to stay until they are told to vacate by law enforcement. Other people who are entitled and just dont care, eviction days are great days! Bye bye entitled squatter!! Also- having recently lost my husband , I kinda understand that woman with the goats. I hope she is finding things that are helping her get though her days. It’s so hard suddenly being alone. I have thought about moving to the country and getting goats too! The landlord is smart really to do inspections. This could have turned into a real problem as time went by. Then you get roaches and mice, etc.

In rental agreements they all say the house and yard must be kept clean to keep from damaging the house. Think about it this way..if you owned this house would you want people disrespecting it by piling junk and garbage inside your house the way these tenants were 🤔?

My husband and our friends could have that house and land looking like a mansion within a week or less. That home has great bones.
I got laid off from my job once, and I didn't spend one day sitting around because I needed to pay my rent in 2 weeks..I knew I'd be short being that I lost my job.. I'm a 42 year old female and got up at 4am EVERYDAY to be at the daily labor place by 5am to ensure I'd get work that day..I went to construction sites to guide traffic, scrap yards, office buildings to take down cubicles and stadiums cleaning up after events..I get disability due to being burned on 70% of my body but don't make enough to pay everything.. you are allowed to work on disability just you can only make so much during the month.. there's no excuse for anyone not being a responsible contributing member of society.. if I can get my rent together in my conditions, so can these able bodied people on here.

One silver lining in all this is there was no dog running around looking scared and confused by what was happening, but there were children involved, which is always sad, but they looked happy and content, which is good.

Mr. Penn, what makes you such an angel is that in all of your videos I’ve watched, you never demoralize these folks getting evicted. You never demean them. You stay cool, calm and collected when their misdirected anger is hurled at you. You even advocate for them and their belongings, like when that idiot in the baseball cap stood there and basically inventoried everything coming out…subtly hinting to him to either help them out or kick rocks. This is probably the lowest moment in a lot of peoples lives, being evicted from their dwellings. This is a job that someone has to do, and you sir, do it with grace and dignity. After the processor talked to management the renter said I paid my rent and processor said they don’t want your money so someone probably took the money at the property mgmt office without knowing the backstory. That’s what I got out of it anyway.

They weren't being evicted for unpaid rent they were being evicted for environmental reasons.
If it is stated in the lease that allowing the property to deteriorate to the to the point where it becomes a health hazard you can be evicted the day you pay your rent. The eviction process takes quite a while and has to go through the courts and the renters were well aware of why they were being evicted and they did not take the necessary steps to stop the eviction by cleaning up the property. They don't deserve nor are they entitled to a refund.

I was in property management for over 15 years and sometimes evictions are so hard and sad. Especially when the residents are trying, but the simply aren’t able to make ends meet and have no option but to stay until they are told to vacate by law enforcement.
