But why did the son say that he thought they had until the end of the month to get out? But the parents said they had no clue, never went to court, and never received any of the 3 notices that was posted on the door? Here in Florida they tape, staple, super glue, lol the paper to the front door so there is no excuse that it blew away, and it's in clear plastic to protect from rain. Smh! Son snitched on them, and the parents was lying about something. If the courts did cover 2 months rent for them and they never paid it back, that could be the cause of the eviction. I don't know.
They didn't post three notices. They came three times and when no one answered the third time then they posted it on the door. They were trying to give it to them in person. The courts didn't cover them, the bank did. And the son didn't snitch on them. They knew they were leaving but I guess their cheque bounced so they kicked them out right away. Almost nothing you said in your comment is accurate.
I tell my son every month to put away $10-$20 a month. It will add up when you need it. That’s how we got thru tough times we had a small savings account. Enough to pay 1 month of mortgage and utilities.

I would just like to take time out and thank my parents for keeping it together and NEVER having me or my brother go through this! I know there were times they struggled financially
There's no excuse for ANYONE to go through this. I managed a 46-unit apartment complex for several years and I know how long it takes for the eviction process to go through. There's NO WAY these people didn't know that this was going to happen. You get an initial eviction notice , you have time to go to court, you have time to find the money you owe, very often you can negotiate a payment plan with the landlord, but an eviction never happens overnight without anyone telling you. It takes weeks to go through all the steps. And it's no good saying you didn't get the notice because the process server tapes it to your door if nobody is home to hand it to. And he takes photos of it on the door before he leaves. That's the worst excuse for tenants to use - "I didn't get any notice. I had no idea this was happening". Usually the tenant has been falling behind or being late paying rent for several months and the landlord at some point has told them that if things don't get paid by a certain date, eviction will be going ahead. And dumping your anger on the eviction team is ridiculous. They're just doing their job. They have never even heard your name before they're told to come to your address tomorrow morning to start moving stuff out. They had no involvement in your eviction and they don't even know you exist, so for you to take out your anger on them is going to get you arrested on an assault charge. You need to deal with your landlord and maybe your bank - nobody else knows what your situation is. And the #1 common sense rule is: PAY YOUR RENT FIRST. It doesn't matter what other bills you have; it doesn't matter if your favorite rock band is in town and you want to go see them. PAY YOUR RENT the minute you get your paycheck and then you don't have to worry about being short of money for rent. It's very unfair of adults to get careless with money to the point that they can't pay their rent, leaving their kids to have to go through the eviction process. It's too hard on kids to have to move in the middle of the school year, maybe having to change schools and moving away from all their friends.
Tell that to the 25 million people who lost their home's during the house market crash under the Bush administration .. Guess that was the parents fault too because of bank's interest rate .. And what is more sad to be one of the richest countries in the world 60 percent of the people in the united states are poor . and it doesn't matter what year .we need more home's that people can afford .
The daughter got a little sassy but it's understandable. I felt real bad for the boy and apparently their are 2 small children too. 😕 Oh, and the dog. She seemed to be a good girl just wanted to know who was in her house
💯 Exactly. Pay rent to have a roof over your head. I know some people pay other bills and do other things before paying rent. Yet have 6 kids they needed to shelter. Some people should not be parents. Yet they were making 5000 a month. Leeches will always be leeches, no matter where they go.
If you know you're getting evicted and you plan on staying till the very last minute. You should send your kids somewhere the night before so they don't have to go through such a traumatic situation
Even if the parents weren’t blatantly lying to their kids about having until the end of the month to move out, they still didn’t make a single attempt to start packing up their stuff to leave and the body cam footage was filmed on the 24th. How many days do they think are in a month?! 😒 It’s just pathetic what some parents put their children through. Smh

I knew a family in my town where the Mom was a spender and did not pay the taxes and threw away all the notices. When the sheriff showed up to evict them she just started walking down the street. The Dad and kids were in shock.
This time all the lies in the world won't make the eviction go away. Hopefully it will sting enough to make sure they pay the rent and not let the kids be tramatized.😢
I just feel bad for the kids, my heart sank for the young girl, my daughter is about that age and I could not even imagine putting her through this. The "parents" we obviously milking it till the very last second, but that is just so unfair to the kids.

Im sorry, I've been a landlord and a renter and I know that it takes months and several notices before it ever get to this point. So the parents had plenty of time to avoid this situation from happening
Not where I live You get a "3 day pay or quit" taped to your door. 4th day they walk in and throw everything in a dumpster. And you can't pull stuff out of it. On the 4th day everything in the home becomes theirs.
Depends on your state. I live in Indiana and execution of an eviction is 72 hours after the court date max and eviction can be filed 14 days after a single missed payment as long as it’s stated on the lease. Major difference from Tennessee or the above commenters state is they are not allowed to throw your stuff away or put it on the curb during the eviction. The landlord has to store it and then the tenant accrues storage and moving fees and if they don’t pay that then they can take possession of the property.
Shame on the parents for making their children go thru this. Kids should never be involved in adult situations, its the parents job to make sure that they do everything they can to take care of their responsibilities and not put their kids into any kind of adult role.
I’m always surprised that people haven’t started packing up and boxing up their stuff. They may not know the eviction is that day, but they know it’s coming.
Yes. Children are always in the middle. These parents playing dumb isn't a good look. I realize its a blow to their pride but he was there 3 times and left it on the door. There is no way they had no clue.
Could be a good thing for the boy. He's quite mature and having to fend for himself, away from the influence of his dead-beat father. Good Luck Son, fare thee well.
What's funny about this is that they're always on the phone trying to call people that isn't going to help stop the eviction. The damage was done a long time ago.
The American Eviction process is fucked up, that's why. There should be no doubt as to when you have to be out and yet half the time they show up the person honestly doesn't know. In Canada, when it gets to that point the sheriff will come post something on your door, and you have tons of warning. Plus, both sides get a free lawyer to meet with and a mediator to work with you and the landlord so you can (hopefully) come to an agreement that both parties can live with. If you're a day late or dollar short from the agreement then you're out. It protects the landlord, but it also protects the tenet from paying the money, but being kicked out anyway. It's a win-win situation. In half these videos the judge orders them out without even giving them paper work or a specific date to work with. That's messed up.

Yeah sure are quick to judge people. I have a feeling they didn’t just say we are gonna stop paying rent just because we can. I went to her and said hmm when are you going to pay me back. She got mad as if I was asking to borrow money from her. She said when you need some of the money just ask for it. I said no that's not how it's going to go. I told her it's my money and when you pay me back it will be on my terms. She huffed and puffed. Eventually she paid me back. She tried to play it off because she is EXTREAMLY PRIDEFUL. She said oh that money that you lent me was nothing that was nothing. I knew I would never lend her money because she was very unappreciative. I ended up moving out because she is a negative egocentric narcissist .I didn't talk to my mom for months. I had this one guy reach me on Facebook voice message. He mentioned my parents name and that he needed to speak to me. I called him. He told me that they were evicted. He said that it was a frenzy. People we're all over the lawn taking things. My parent had an old BMW. He said that one guy tried to take off with the BMW but he said that the car didn't start. He called me to try to give them their car back. I get that times get hard but being a narcissist and thinking you don't need to pay your rent is a fast way to guarantee a successful eviction. I'm not going to lie, I don't feel sorry for my parents. It's two of you and you could pay 1000 a month. That means each person needs to have 500 set aside.Come on now!!!

The landlord can still evict them out even if they paid if they were late chronically because it's still a violation of their lease and if they owed those two months they still needed to pay for them.
He’s going to give it to the Mexicans and let them have it??? Why was that even necessary for him to say?! I didn’t hear the officer tell anyone to get the “F” out. So as far as all the comments, I think he was very understanding. Polite even after being cursed at. Kudos to you Mr. Penn!

All those tenants that haven't paid rent / mortgages since the start of Covid....this is what their about to experience first hand real soon. Everyone (those that didn't or want to pay) are sitting home just relaxing,....until they get that notice or knock on the door. Then they'll pretend like they didn't know anything.....tenants must realize that landlords suffer when the rent is not paid each month.
so many people were taking advantage of it was pretty sad, around that time i was extremely lucky, my dad moved in with his girlfriend which is now his wife, and he left me the apartment and paid for it, by the time they lifted that no eviction thing soo many people were gone from that apartment
My tenant hasn't paid since Feb 2020. Government forced me to pay his rent and unlimited utilities for 24 months and still do to this day. Meanwhile he has a guaranteed government income which is exempt from court judgment. He knows he'll never have to pay me a dime, and so did the governor, mayor, and feds when they declared a moratorium. It was a government forced wealth transfer. I'm getting out of the rental business and I hope tenants and politicians pay dearly for their evil.

It reminds me of an episode of Real Housewives of Orange County. They came to evict a family and the wife and kids didn’t know anything about it. Later the husband confessed to removing the eviction letters and also not paying rent.....hoping he could catch up.
People always act clueless. I was in property management for 5 years, it takes MONTHS to get to this point. They've had notices posted to their door and certified letters they had to sign for. Also, if you don't pay rent, what do you expect?!?
Because of monies owed to me, in the thousands, I forced a new owner to evict me. It took him over a year, because I had help from a realtor regarding landlord/tenant law. When I finally got the 3 day notice to vacate, I had my belongings in a trailer and I sat there until 5 o'clock. The time I had to be out. Sad part is my liens were never paid. But I got over a year free rent to partially compensate me.
You are the nicest person. You explain things calmly which keeps the situation calm. Plus you explain everything so clearly and tell them what to get. Remind them to get medications. That could be crucial.
I disagree about the person doing the eviction being nice. What a shock to those kids when he told the boy at the door he would shoot the dog. His first words when the boy came to the door
Finally, even though these parents lie and are shady as heck (which causes these situations in the first place), at least their home is clean and the son and daughter are very polite.
🤣🤣🤣 they make them water proof and storm resistant?
too many red flags
They didn't post three notices. They came three times and when no one answered the third time then they posted it on the door. They were trying to give it to them in person. The courts didn't cover them, the bank did. And the son didn't snitch on them. They knew they were leaving but I guess their cheque bounced so they kicked them out right away. Almost nothing you said in your comment is accurate.
Yea. The son probably read one of the notices on the door.
The parents lied continuously. They knew exactly what was going on.

I would just like to take time out and thank my parents for keeping it together and NEVER having me or my brother go through this! I know there were times they struggled financially
Amen!
Exactly!! Thank God I never went threw this
There's no excuse for ANYONE to go through this.
Amen! Thankful for my parents.

I feel so bad for those kids. I was evicted once when my daughter was younger. She never knew it was happening or how broke we really were, and she probably never will. We all struggle at some point but imo it’s our responsibility to shield our children from things like this. I hope things get better for them.
In the 70’s my dad leave the 7 of us, we ranged from a baby to 13 years old.
My mom was a homemaker and a good mom who made the best tortillas. She would only get $350 from welfare and $150 in food stamps. Our rent for a two bedroom was $275 that included the cockroaches. We ran out of food by the 15th and move every 3 months because we were barely making so we ended up homeless.
Now as an adult of 63 I have 4 homes a cabin and some property. Everything I have will be donated for homeless aged out foster children, Salvation Army and scholarships. I have no children so why not? I was so poor as a child/ teen I had no feminine products but used newspaper, no bras or underwear that were not gray stretched and full of holes.
