I drove my 992 to Walmart this morning while this collector’s piece sat in the garage.
I recall when the 993 Turbo first came out and people were saying how nuts Porsche were for building a road car with 400 HP. How things have changed, spectacular car Nick.
@Yorkiepoocharlie nowadays its the norm but majority if the time u dont need that speed
The cars overall performance on flat straight road hasnt improved much 1sec in 20 years its the competitive advantage and its handling the roads better thats improved
I think this cqr is as modern a classic as you going to get
Please feature more of Sloane's Porsches.
Another one coming next week
So much mystic with this car. The fenders, the wing. Love the tiny dash with the windshield. Iegendary.
My dream car, except I want just basic silver paint. That was the first Hot Wheel I picked myself as a kid. Those wide hips with the huge wing and bug eye headlights make this car have a look that still can't be beat to this day. This is the best looking car ever made.
Absolutely stunning! I know someone that owns a Cobalt blue 993 Turbo S.
The proportions are so much nicer in the older 911s.
This car is just artwork. You are so fortunate to have spent some time driving this precious gem. Heidi
This is one of the most beautiful cars in the world. My poster car. Sady I cannot have it, but I still stop and look at every one that I see.
That's the car as a kid who made the petrolhead I am today, never experienced one but I kept on dreaming until I bought a 991.2 Turbo S a few months ago. Purple old school 911 are the prettiest IMO
Beautiful car. Thanks for the tour and thank you Sloan Motors.
I had a poster of a silver one in my room as a kid back in the 90s.. I daydreamed of driving one and still do..
Mr. Murray and oily fingers caressing the car…love at first sight haha!
my fingers are greasy not oily!
Great review Nick. Thank you for making it.
Stunning colour and car, thanks to our favourite RUclipsr Nick for bringing it to us, thank you 🙏
When I was about 19-20 I worked in Auckland as a Car Groomer for Giltrap, I remember getting a silver 993 Turbo to clean and nearly lost my mind. We'd drive them around the block after cleaning them and the engine note, the torque, always impressed me.
Sloan Motors always has some of the nicest Porsches in existence.
Viola Metallic is my dream color. This thing is an absolute peach
Phenomenal!! thanks for allowing us to see it
Thx for the Share N!! Jz beautiful!
444 bHP in that thing? My lord it must have felt like a space shuttle
*424
It certailny was more impressive than current gen turbo s, as 300bhp cars that do 60 in 5s are plenty and cheap
@@atom999 that statement makes no sense... the current turbo s has 300 hp eh?
@@TML34 first models were 424, later bumped to 444.
Brett Sloan receives the best Porsche cars on the market. The best quality inventory.
Great combo with Sloan. I love everything they do. Super cool 😎
Love the colour
Welcome back Nick! Thank you for sharing
Good one Nick ! Brent seems cool , passionate and knowledgeable . 11,000 miles Wow . Funny out of every thing the leather on the sunroof underside made me grin ... looks tight/good . Who puts leather on the bottom of a sunroof hahaha I get it , it just stinks of money to me . I do like the leather wrapped vents . Your right about leather wrapping the steering binnacle(?) . Given the money I'd leather out a Porsche interior , it does look nice and old school classy . Good to see you again 👍
Superb Nick 🎉
Great video 👍👍beautiful beautiful car 🚗
9:17 Even the cigarette lighter is wrapped in leather - sign me up!
what an amazing piece
Finally you're back!
1:11 min - 3rd gear!! ⚙️😉
Love this car. ❤
That color tho!!! Great review, Digger!
Such a gorgeous car in a perfect spec.🤩😍😍😍🤩
My buddy Nicky had a 993 turbo S in Fly Yellow, I don't know if he thinks about how they've gone up in price. He only wants the newest versions. But I can't stop thinking about how unbelievably desirable these are, then and now. And like you said, they're not making any more. Beautiful in the Viola. So damn crave worthy.
Very cool…thanks for posting Nick!
Beautiful car...lovely video.
1998 and 1997 you could order a 993 turbo with the turbo s engine ( WLS II 450 hp ) in Germany. They are also very rare.
I have the same one! but in black……in a 1/18 scale 😊
Gorgeous!
Oh yes Mr Murray. That is stunning
Thats a great color!
I drive past a yellow one displayed in a showroom on my way to work. (London). They did have it for sale on their website, but it has been taken off. No doubt it is going to a lucky customer.
Stunning
The suspension height is because it’s a U.S spec’.
U.S 993’s got ”off-road” suspension. Lotus suffered from the same affliction…
993 Turbo S routinely sell for 500-650k and low mileage, rare colors getting much more
My Dream car. But I’m still quite pleased with my 993 Turbo WLS1❤
Awesome car.
Wow, what a time capsule
Here in the UK, the renown Porsche specialist "911 Virgin" have a 1998 Turbo S for sale, 76340miles, £360,000. Apparently only 19 UK specification cars were registered over here.
Great review , thank you
Love the Rubicon Grey interior, my 993 Cab is Rubicon Grey as well!
Alright that’s it the house is getting a mortgage. This car needs to be in my hands!
Great review for a wonderful car, cheers 🍻 🇬🇧
Holy orange foliage! 🍂
looks like a 959, very cool
Interesting color. Paint to Sample doesn't list that one-- only seeing Velvet and Merlin purple.
Car goals
It doesn't get any better than that purple. This would be my first purchase if I won the lottery.
Such a great looking car, how did they get the 996 so wrong.
Nice review Nick!
More of your cab vlogs Nick :)
Dream vehicle by a long shot ❤😃
Nice one Nick. Perhaps they put the ride height increase for people going skiing etc.
Nice!
I still prefer my 85 930. Blk on Blk with Gold BBS rims. Just cant go wrong with the lines of the car. Love the slant nose behind it !
Wait, my manual 992 C2S is lighter than the 993 Turbo S? That is unreal. And makes me feel very good about my car :)
More Nick and less guests on the next one please.. I'm sure he's a good guy but inexplicably I tune in to see you!
Fabulous car ❤
Can’t believe they actually trusted you with a car of that value, or anything else worth that much to be honest.
Great review though Nick.
They probably trusted William to supervise him
In ct you will find Porsche because that’s where the money is Hey Nick God bless
Sweet ride!
MkII GTI...sweet. I had one. A Montana Green 16V.
I saw that too. Sweet ride.
So used to stuffy car reviewers pontificating about the past or young and brash reviews lol. Stumbled upon this happy Australian dude and he's my new favorite
Those complaining about prices this is a rare edition just 3xx units of arguably the best 911 ever made. What do you expect? If mediocre Skylines are going for 300k this 100% worth the price. Is art on 4 wheels.
Wonderful.
my plebian ass did not know carbonfiber was a thing back in those years
Outstanding vid Nick, keep 'em coming! Oie, my YT feed is as shriveled as your schmekel on a winter's morn
Michael Jordan owned one of these back in his Chicago Bulls days.
Most expensive and rarest 993 is the GT(2)
True. US did not get them unfortunately
Wouldn't all the non-US 993s now be importable since they are or will be soon, 25 years old making these more available.
My daughter is asking why Albert doesn't get to sit in the front 🤔.
Hello Nick , 993 ❤❤❤
You had a yellow 1997 Turbo S for sale on your website for quite a while in 2021-22? Looked at it many times, just couldn’t get myself to buy Yellow. Bought a 2011 GT3 RS 4.0 instead
Great car, but $1M is ridiculous for that car.
I have a 993 Turbo and am also surprised at how much wheel gap there is compared to a base 993. Perhaps I should lower it but then I wonder why the porsche engineers chose that ride height to begin with??
clearance for US roads, or something to do with US regulation bumper height. I believe you will find the euro cars are a few cm lower
Nice car and distinct colour. What about the black slant nose 930 in the background??
My perfect car
it's worth that much because it has a rear wiper
I almost bought a regular 993 turbo 10+ years ago. It was in great shape asking price was about $45k. Nice car but kind of sterile compared to a regular Carrera or the previous gen 964 Turbo. For my $500k+ I’d get a 993 RS and a 964 turbo 3.6.
Epic! ❤👀😎🔥🥇
Is the Turbo sitting higher or are your springs just shagged?
are the speakers original???
Sort of a big brother to the Vesuvio Metallic 993?
What a shame that this beautiful and fantastic car was driven only 11k miles in 26 years.
911 is one of the only modern cars not to have gained significant weight 🙏
If you don't count the thousand pounds it's packed on since its introduction. 🙂
@@H2SO4H20 3:11 for comparison of mechanically similar 993 vs 992. 992 Carrera weighs the same as 997 (see SavageGeese weighing).
Most cars have gained ~50% over the same time period. E.g., M3 from 2700lbs to ~4k lbs today.
@@The_Stanman LOL, I realize that you were referring only to the 993 and newer 911. I was thinking back to the 911 of my youth (1960's) when it and other 2-seat sports cars were far lighter than those of today. I'm not an expert on the 993 but I think its body shell is mostly steel although some of the Turbo S panels (e.g. doors, hood) may be aluminum. The 992 body shell is almost all aluminum as on other current Porsche models which is how weight has been kept stable in recent years. Fun stuff, eh?
@@H2SO4H20 gotcha. I modify my statement to be one of the only cars not have gained weight in past few decades*.
Lighter materials are part of it, but most OEMs use lighter, stronger materials but still have gained significant weight. Not sure why they are more immune to the trend.
They haven’t gained weight but they certainly have gained size. The new 911s, fantastic as they are, just seem too big to me and the Caymans now have the ideal dimensions for the niche originally occupied by the air-cooled and early water-cooled 911 generations.
Subtle? Hummmmm........Maybe the best of the 911's.
Hilarious - my FAAther… Born into it, so hard, LOL!
Hi
just wondering on the interior cluster light the illumination if its kinda dull alongwidth the turn signal sounds are muted abit.
Thanks
Nick murray do u care to reply honestly dont ignore your subscribers
993 Turbo S is NOT the most expensive 993. GT2 is. One was sold for 2.4 million dollars.
Correct, but US cars it is
