I ordered a well optioned Carrera in the summer of 21. Couldn't get an S allocation w/o ADM so I snagged a Base allocation. It's my 3rd 911 in the last 10 yrs (964, 997). I've owned various British sports cars, sporty Japanese coupes in the 90's, an assortment of hot rods (e.g., K20 swapped X1/9), a Vette or two, some hot rod Audis, and a number of other interesting cars. The 992 - in base form - is the best car I've ever had. It has all aspects of the friction circle covered while being supremely comfortable. The 3 liter engine has lots of induction noise, pretty much sounding like an NA motor. Next week, I will have an APR Stage 1 tune installed. The new torque curve gets to 425ftlbs @ 2250 rpm staying above that figure until 5300rpm. From there it drops to 325lbft at red line. So a comparatively flat torque curve.
I think all of the 911s look fantastic especially the convertible models. When I traded my 991 turbo for a 992 GTS 4 I worried I would miss the torque . Definitely miss the “wall” of torque that the 991 turbo had but in the real world the GTS feels almost as quick. Imagine the beautiful sport classic with a PDK and the available torque increase. It would not only look great but feel special too.

The Sport Classic is about going faster, its a GranTourer that comes with All the Style you could want from a 911, I like the overall package. Its great, but that price makes it unobtainable. Normally I dont go for watered down versions but that " Classic interieur" should be available on other models too, a Targa would wear this very well :)
I'd just get the GTS with the Heritage interior and add a duck tale after-market. These things are going for double that at $580 on the used market by the way. That seems nuts for a 6-speed, some trim, and a Turbo body with no vents on the rear quarter. A sport classic at $580 is the same as Leo the tile guy talking crypto at the gas station- a sure sign of the top and time to get out.
