  • In this video, I refute the heretical teaching that man was saved by faith and works in the Old Testament. This false doctrine is promoted by preachers such as Robert Breaker and Gene Kim. I pray this video provides clarity and dispels any confusion concerning this subject. God bless! -OD

My only trouble is with your use of the KJV. It’s not a bad translation - it’s just tough to understand in Old English. Would you consider ever incorporating the NKJV?
Working with the KJV also might make some a bit leery to follow bc of the KJV only movement.
Love the New England accent btw lol - I’m a Bostonian that loves out west now.

All you have to do is believe the report that God gave of his son. You don't know if you're one of the elect so how can you trust him to save you? If you believe with all your heart that Jesus is the Christ the son of God and that God raised him from the dead you will be saved. That is righteousness before God. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that he is going to save you in particular. That's why when you believe on him it is counted for righteousness. If you think you believe on him as something that you do instead of Faith being a gift then you have no basis for security. You also won't find your name anywhere in the Bible. You just have to conclude that because you believe in the name of the son of God that he atoned for sin he says you are associated with him because you believe in the name of the son of God. You do not however believe that you are saved in order to be saved or trust that he will save you. It's believing that he is the Christ the son of God and that God raised him from the dead. Saving you is his part and he who promised his faithful. We trust in his character nowhere in the Bible is your name in it and he promised to save you specifically. He promised to save whoever believes in the name of the son of god. If you want a personalized it and say well I take him at his word I trust Jesus will save me it doesn't say that he's going to save you in the Bible it says that you are righteous if you believe in the name of the son of God.

"Salvation" in the Bible is not always eternal salvation and forgiveness of sins, salvation for Noah was through the work of building an Ark, had Noah not done the work, he would have perished in the flood. Likewise, Israel in order to experience "salvation" from Egypt, had to put the blood on the doorposts, flee into the wilderness, cross the Red Sea, etc etc. In the future, Israel will be commanded to do "the first works" (Revelation 2:5), and will be judged on the basis of their works (Revelation 2:19), in order to enter the Earthly Kingdom at the 2nd coming of Christ (Revelation 3:15-16). James writing to the 12 Tribes (James 1:1) says in James 2:21 "Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?", teaching his nation that there will be works required of them to be counted worthy at the 2nd coming. There are many examples where works based salvation (not eternal salvation, but salvation from physical judgments, physical nations, etc) are prescribed, specifically to Israel. The salvation we enjoy in Christ is a spiritual salvation from future judgment, and so no physical works are required. However, Israel will need to physically endure to the end of the tribulation (Matthew 24:13) by fleeing out of Judea (Matthew 24:16) into the wilderness when the anti-christ appears. We must be diligent students of God's word to be able to discern and understand that when God does require works of certain people at certain times, that does not in any way negate the fact that eternal salvation is accomplished exclusively through the work of Christ who purchased us by his blood. Food for thought; many who were saved from Egypt did not experience the eternal salvation of God (1 Corinthians 10:5), so we need to be careful to determine what kind of salvation we are discussing in any given context.

This is one verse out of many upon many, and it is clear "whom God imputeth righteousness without works," 'Without works.' If there was no work, then Jesus Christ had no need to come and fulfil the works of the law. Jesus Christ has done all the work, and it is finished which is why there is no longer any sabbath as the work is finished, and we rest in Him our Lord Jesus Christ.

14 For if they which are of 👉the law be heirs, 👈👉faith is made void, 👈and the promise made of none effect:
15 Because 👉the law worketh wrath:👈 for where no law is, there is no transgression.
16 👉 Therefore👈 it is of👉 faith,👈 that it might be 👉by grace👈; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,
If it is by faith then it is by Grace . The Law of works Never gave anyone eternal life. It produces wrath and condemnation and that's it's purpose to bring all to faith in God accessing His grace. @OnoDiamante is precisely correct in his Biblical exposition of verses explaining the true Gospel message! This video's accurate Bible teaching clearly demonstrates the FREE GIFT of justification before God, which refutes the awful heresy of the "faith + works" teaching that supposedly applied prior to the church dispensation and also supposedly applies to the future Daniel's 70th week Tribulation period.
To receive Jesus Christ we must BELIEVE IN HIM to pay the full penalty for our own personal sin. We CAN NOT add any trust in our own good works to “earn” heaven because pardon for our sin and eternal life is a FREE GIFT that cannot be earned but only received. Jesus Himself taught ONLY BELIEVE! “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.” - John 5:24
The Bible says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the GIFT of God-NOT BY WORKS, so that no one can boast.” - Ephesians 2:8-9 “But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, otherwise grace is no longer grace.” - Romans 11:6
Biblically in ALL dispensations, adding your own payment of good works to God's grace is rejecting God’s offer of the FREE GIFT of forgiveness and eternal life solely on the basis of faith in God's provision. What you pay for is not really a gift. Today and during the Tribulation, you must trust ONLY in Jesus Christ’s perfect sacrifice for us. “If, in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast about-but not before God. What does Scripture say? ‘Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.’ Now to the one who works, wages are not credited as a gift but as an obligation. However, to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness. David says the same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of the one to whom God credits righteousness apart from works.” - Romans 4:2-6
Jesus Christ clearly taught that eternal life is only available to those who believe in Him without adding their own deeds: Therefore they said to Him, “What shall we do, so that we may work the works of God?” Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent.” - John 6:28-29 “For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law.” - Romans 3:28
So the free gift of eternal life with forgiveness of all our personal sins is only available to us 100% on the basis of what Jesus Christ did for us, NOT because of anything we do for Him. “But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us, NOT ON THE BASIS OF DEEDS which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that BEING JUSTIFIED BY HIS GRACE we would be made heirs according to the hope of ETERNAL LIFE." - Titus 3:4-7

Dispensationalists agree that is has always been Gods Grace by faith in Jesus alone. Those that call themselves Hyper dispensationalists or Mid Acts believe that in other dispensations it was Works and Grace unfortunately. They also believe the New Covenant is only for the Nation of Israel. Which is incorrect also. In 2 Corinthians 3:6 it says that God has made us able ministers of the New Covenant/Testament ( same Greek word Diatheke)....

    • @victorialdavis9221
      @victorialdavis9221 Год назад

@@robertmwangi1452 The New Covenant is for everyone because the New Covenant is a Covenant brought about through the Blood of Jesus ( This cup is the New Covenant in my Blood which is Shed for You - Jesus) it was offered first to the Nation of Israel. They as a whole rejected Jesus, but will come to faith in Jesus at some point during Daniels 70th week. The New Covenant laws are not The old Covenant Moasic Law ( God is not writing the Old Covenant Moasic Law of death on people's hearts) He is writing the New Covenant laws of Love, Life in the Spirit and Freedom on Believers hearts. We are able ministers of the New Covenant/Testament (Covenant and Testament are the same Greek word Diatheke). The laws of the New Covenant are : The Law of Faith, The Law of Christ, The Law of Liberty, The Law of the Spirit of the life in Christ. As we see in Hebrews 7:11-12 because of the change of Priesthood there has been MADE OF NECESSITY A CHANGE ALSO OF THE LAW. Go read that. At this time period any individual Jew or Gentile that comes to faith are part of the Church age saints group. But as I said most of the Nation of Israel will not come to faith until after the mid point of Daniels 70th week when they finally realize that Jesus was in fact their Messiah and they will cry out Blessed is He who comes in the Name of the Lord. I'd like to point out that the Old Covenant and The Law ( 613 laws) was only given to the Nation of Israel and they agreed to attempt to do it, they broke that Covenant because it was a conditional Covenant between them and God and they failed so God brought in a New Covenant through Jesus and His Blood which He shed for all of Humanity. Jesus is the New Covenant. The Old Covenant law never saved anyone and in 2 Corinthians 3 it is called the law of Death. The New Covenant has far better promises. The fact is Israel is partially blinded until the fullness of the Gentiles comes in. Read all of 2 Corinthians 3 in context. New Covenant Believers live by the Spirit not rules. All of the New Covenant laws are all about Love, Living by the Spirit of God in Us and Freedom.

Works based religions always use Ephesians 2 to state their case that we have been called to do good works as a requirement of salvation. They say it was only the cermonial law that was abolished. However, it says clearly that if we were to insist on keeping any part of the law for salvation we would have to keep the whole law in its entirety. We all fail under the law. How do we refute those who say there's a difference between failing under the law and those who go out of their walk in darkness?

I am a OSAS doctrine believer
So please explain in the tribulation period a saved person goes and take the mark of the beast will his salvation is lost ?
Of course his salvation is lost
4 gospels ( time past ) and Hebrew to revelation ( things to come ) is for Jewish audience who will be under tribulation period
You cannot make doctrine from these books for todays grace period
Pauline gospel ( Roman’s till Philemon) is for grace period saint until the rapture
After that 7 year tribulation period will start and back to faith + works for Jewish saints
Rightly dividing the word of truth

Justifcation (Salvation) has always been and will always be by faith apart from any works as both Galatians 3 and Romans 3 & 4 prove. Both Abraham and David werw both justified (saved) by faith alone.
    Dispensationalism is Biblical.
But Hyper-dispensationalism (i.e., that people were saved by works/law keeping for all other Dispensations apart from the current dispensation of The Church Age.) ISN'T BIBLICAL...

Greggo you understand Hyperdispensationalism about as well as your dog. You can keep using the term to smear others but it's a lie easily disproven by a quick search. Funny how in a world of works based religions and a lot of Christian churches also preaching works you have to rip on the few who are OSAS and they have been at it a lot longer than you. You are a two note Samba when it comes to this Gal3 and Rom4. OK fine, so what am I to make of Rev20:4?
And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
No problem just believe, right? No, actually it looks pretty bloody because now it's your own blood that has to be shed Blood is a theme through time in addition to Faith. The thing about Abraham is all God had to do was ask him to do was believe him when he looked up at all those stars in the heavens and it was accounted to him for righteousness but he was still willing to sacrifice Isaac when the time came. I am persuaded that different eras God works with differently until proven otherwise. But to each his own.

The only two real dispensations are Old Testament/Covenant and New Testament/Covenant. In context the Galatians were allowing Jews to come in and corrupt the gospel Paul had preached to them. That's the same fight we're fighting today. Gentiles were brought in and made a part of Israel. All believers Jew or Gentile, are the people of God. Paul has made this clear throughout His letters, especially in Romans and Galatians.

That is the very reason many do not believe in the dispensation of the 7 year tribulation.
No one in the old testament had all the revealed word of God we have today. Romans 4:1-3. For if Abraham were justified by works, He would have something to glory in, but not before God. Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him as righteousness. Abraham did not know the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. Neither did Peter before Jesus was crucified. Neither did Mary when She went to the tomb and Jesus body was gone. She did not say, well, He is risen just like He said He would.
No, she believed they had stolen His body until the two angels proclaimed He had risen from the dead. Those that do not believe in dispensation's believe we will go through the dispensation of the 7 year tribulation. Not First Corinthians 15:51-53, and First Thessalonians 4:13-18. And Second Thessalonians 4:1-4.
Are the tribulation saints sealed by the Holy Spirit like we are? Ephesians 1:13-14? No, they are not. They do not have a new nature. Only their old sinful nature. We have both. Ephesians 4:30. And grieve not the Holy Spirit in whom ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. The rapture of the church.

@@OnoDiamante Don't add to what I said. Just because God did impute righteousness to Abraham does not mean it was the same as our salvation. Something cannot be pure faith when something is seen. God was seen walking around the Old Testament. What does Hebrews say? Faith is one must believe God is, that is exists, and that He is a rewarder of them that seek Him. Why it was faith and works is when God walks around VISIBLY, you already know He exists. You don't need faith to do that when He is right there in front of you. So that's half of faith. The only half of faith they needed then is the half that says a rewarder of those that seek Him. But because God is visible, as sight is not faith, a work is required. And that's why the hall of faith in Hebrews are all works listed on there.
And today, we are in the age of pure faith because we don't have God or Jesus physically walking around.
You deniers of faith and works in the Old Testament confuse and conflate the method of salvation with the principle, among other things. All salvations in all dispensations were setup and provided by God, whether faith or works, so there is no boasting.
Plus, not all salvations were salvation to heaven, Old Testament mentions of salvation are NOT heavenly salvation, a lot of them were physical salvation by victory in a battle or war a lot of times. And even in the "spiritual" salvation of Abraham and David, they didn't go to heaven, they went to Eden under the Earth (Ezekiel), also known as the Abraham's bosom and Paradise, because they didn't get their sins out. Jesus had to preach to the captivity before the resurrection. So they were "saved" but not for heaven, but for paradise under the earth. So a lesser salvation required a different method.

Abel, Noah, Job and Abraham were all righteous before God. They lived before the Law was written down by Moses. People can't be righteous by the Law because our flesh is to weak to obey it perfectly. Faith in Jesus makes us righteous before God.

Dispensationalism is not faith plus works. Dispensationalism is just dividing the word of truth if you don’t divide your gonna run into a ton of problems. 2nd Timothy 2:15 study to show thyself approved onto God, a workman that needeth not be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth. And you divide by people and time. I’m not disputing what you’re saying because it is faith alone. I’m just saying Dispensationalism is not faith plus works that is a minority under dispensationalism.

Romans 4:6 “Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,” (Kings James Bible). This is one verse out of many upon many, and it is clear "whom God imputeth righteousness without works," Without works. If there was no work, then Jesus Christ had no need to come and fulfil the works of the law. Jesus Christ has done all the work, and it is finished which is why there is no longer any sabbath as the work is finished, and we rest in Him our Lord Jesus Christ. The time for causing division is over, and the time to preach the Good News of the Gospel is now.

Using KJV in all referenced verses
You got me thinking with Romans 4:2. How do we reconcile that verse with James 2:21? Two statements concerning the same individual apparently saying the opposite on how he was justified.
What I can think of is that the word 'works' changes meaning and I think it's precisely because of Romans 3:27. What does Romans 1:17 say? This is something to think about.

very good presentation ... salvation has ALWAYS BEEN by grace (alone) through faith (alone)
that being said, not ALL dispensational thinkers add law and they would say that in every dispensation men were always saved by grace through faith
i'm not heavy on dispensationalism and maybe my understanding of it is not the same as od's

God convicts of sin. John 16:8
    God grants repentance.

Today salvation is Faith in what?
    The Blood of Jesus
    Romans 3:25
What about the faith of the Old Testament saints? What was their faith on? The blood of Jesus?
No it was on what God told them to do right? Did they go to heaven like we do today? How can we say is the same when there is clearly big differences, like king David, asking God not to take the Holy Spirit away from him,
    Psalm 51:11,12
that doesn’t happen with us, we are sealed, right? HOW IS IT THE SAME?
There was faith and Grace, but it was faith on what God told them to do. Faith + works

Incorrect, you’re failing to take into account progressive revelation. Just because there are DIFFERENCES, such as the indwelling of the HS in the New Testament. Doesn’t mean that they were saved by faith + works, that’s an extremely asinine assertion considering that all of man’s righteousness is “filthy rags”.

    Hello, Onorato!
Could you please cover the meaning of 1 Timothy 5:8?
"But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel." (KJV)
I think this verse can easily be twisted towards a works salvation interpretation. I'm struggling with this verse.
    God Bless!

What those verses teach is that even Muslims and atheists (infidels) understand, by natural law, that a man ought to work a job to provide for their families and they do so.
A Christian man, who will not work is a disgrace.
It's certainly worth noting that neither Robert Breaker nor Gene Kim work. Rather, they ask strangers, through the internet, both men AND WOMEN to send them money.

The faith in this passage is not salvation through faith. It’s the body of revealed truth in scripture. The faith therefore is only our belief system we operate in. I’d also think that he’s saying even an unbeliever provides for his own so don’t be worse than them.
