The Rich young ruler betrayed himself, by not following Jesus command to sell and give; he broke the first two commandments and possibly more. He put his riches before God and others proving he lied about having kept the law. No one has ever nor can ever keep the law of God. Salvation must be by the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I'm unsure of your accusation of "liar" applied to the RYR. Remember that the Law is a schoolmaster, and that schoolmasters can only instruct not convict.
Many continue to take a light view of LAW so receive neither the message nor the benefit of that law. Jesus helped him along the way by zeroing in on what He knew to be a failure to love his neighbor by supporting him (sacrificially if necessary) in his/her time of need. The passage outcome revealed his UNWILLINGNESS to accept Jesus' (divine) exposure of his failure to do as He said, "Keep the Law" - a fatal error.

Onorato is correct! Jesus was NOT giving the rich young ruler a plan of salvation. He was using the law as it was intended to be used by God-as a measuring stick-by which, when men compare themselves, they fall short. Thus, seeing ourselves as a sinners, the law brings us to Christ to be saved by grace through faith alone (Galatians 3;24-26). The young man called Jesus: "Good Master." The Dear Savior reminded the young man that there are NONE RIGHTEOUS. Jesus perceived that this young man was trusting in his own self-righteousness to merit Heaven, trying to keep the Ten Commandments to earn eternal life. The young man boasted of his WORKS in Luke 18;21, "And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up." In order to show the rich young ruler that, in fact, he hadn't perfectly kept God's law, Jesus told him to go sell all of his possessions and distribute them to the poor. Jesus was not telling him how to be saved, he was showing the young man that if he wanted to work his way to Heaven, then he was failing at the task. Christ was trying to teach the young man that he couldn't get to Heaven on his own merit, he needed a Savior!
I used to wonder why Jesus didn't just tell him plainly that he couldn't earn his way to Heaven. Several years ago I found my answer when I witnessed to my Roman Catholic neighbour. His name was Frank. He kept telling me how good he was. He told me that he was faithful to his church, and that he loves all of his neighbours, et cetera. I plainly told him dozens of times that he didn't (and couldn't) have to do these things to earn his way to Heaven. But my words fell on deaf ears. I realized that his mindset was flawed, stuck on the law. I finally knew why Jesus didn't plainly tell the rich young ruler why he couldn't keep the law to be saved-it was simply because before you can get a person saved, you must get them lost!
No matter what Jesus would have said to the self-righteous youth, the truth would have been received as mere empty words. You simply cannot tell self-religious people the truth, because it won't have any effect on their hardened heart. Some truths must be learned the hard way (e.g., Jonah). Jesus wanted this young man to figure it out for himself that salvation cannot be obtained by WORKS, but by FAITH alone. Jesus knew that this was the only way for him to come to repentance from his works-based religion, so that he could be saved by faith alone in the promised Messiah.

Amen ! Bingo. Bull's eye. Jesus had to drive him to see his own inadequacy for himself. If there was to be any possibility for the young man to understand he was a helpless, hopeless sinner, he would have had to face up to/to SEE that the law is a demanding taskmaster that requires nothing less than perfection - no departures " from the way ", at any time, ever. We are left in the story that while the RYR left the scene despondent, he at least must have been pricked in the heart with conviction because of the enormity/ie, impossibility of the challenge.

    • @Roger-r7s
      @Roger-r7s 5 месяцев назад

Yeh it seems like the Lord was casting a stumbling block before the rich young ruler, which the Lord would not do, but on the other hand when you have a case where a person is convinced that they can earn salvation by keeping and observing the law with scrupulous and meticulous diligence, the only way to open that person's eyes is through their ultimate failure to fulfill the laws standards of divine perfection, hence be convicted of sin for their failure and falling short. This humbling of heart will then lead the heart broken repentant sinner to cast down any of the vain spiritual pride that made a sinner think they can be righteous without God's righteousness and finally recognize that they can not save themselves but must subject themselves and trust in the work of redemption and salvation that God does on their behalf regardless of their own goodness and works of righteousness.

The issue is that when people read a commandment like “do not murder” they think that by not murdering they are upholding the law, but Jesus reveals that even having HATRED is MURDER, and you’ve broken the law already.

"they think that by not murdering they are upholding the law," Yes, Jesus (1800 years later) extended the rule beyond the action to the thought. That change is not driven by a misapplication or misunderstanding of the law or of scripture but is ONE instance of A CHANGE TO GOD'S EXPECTIATIONS. Throughout the OT, God's expectations largely related to deeds, some to thought. And salvation applied to Israel's corporate security in a hostile neighborhood. When the Jewish Messiah arrived and offered the promised Kingdom to Israel, their living had to berevised internally to extend to complete commitment of all Jews to Kingdom principles. Therefore, Jesus, right at the beginning of His ministry, redefined God's expectations for them to be the messengers of the Gospel to all the nations. They failed, so God sent Paul who passed on God's new way of salvation a salvation by faith alone. Praise Him all ye who believed on Him for His mercy and grace.

Before the Incarnation, they WERE upholding the Law but when Jesus arrived, He showed a higher (no new cloth on old clothing and not fresh wine in old bottles) new level of expectation - i.e. GOD'S CHANGED EXPECTATION. There are several changes to God's expectations in this crucial time. With the beginning of Jesus' ministry, His rejection by Jews His crucifixion, resurrection and ascension followed by the energizing arrival of the Holy Spirit making fishermen into evangelists. When all was said and done, the "Gospel of the Kingdom" became dormant to be replaced by the message (read about in Romans) given to St Paul, not to Israel but to the entire world. PTL

@@taylormuse-22 I don't see an error here. Breaker is right! Rebirth cannot be followed by spiritual redeath. Such very good news (gospel)!
There have been many means for people to live righteously toward God in Satan's world. The 1st chapters of Genesis show people's evil behavior (Cain, pre-flood & towers to heaven) that God dealt with in various ways, language confusion, global flood, cursing of Cain, exclusion from the Garden. Since "gospel" (neither English nor Hebrew but Greek for "good news") is not permanently defined just once in Scripture, it may be applied to all God's (loving-judgmental) interventions recorded in scripture. Thus, salvation (remittance from sin) thru repentance and water baptism in the Gospels need not fix its meaning forever.
Thus, when the early church of Acts 1-8 failed to send the apostles out to the World and went bankrupt, God provided a replacement that would provide eternal salvation, not to just Jews nor Israelites but to the entire World. And not just temporary atonement but life eternal!
While repentance is appropriate for Christians who fail God and baptism (spiritual and by Holy Spirit Titus 3:5-6) is essential but only til He returns for His Church, the Body of Christ, the directions that Peter, Phillip and Stephen preached are now suspended. Something in which to rejoice ! After that, salvation will revert to deeds plus faith as in the OT.
Don't be simplistic with your understanding of this 3000 year old history of Man's sinful behavior and God's multiple offerings of forgiveness.

That doesn't help Ono's theology. It does the opposite. Jesus was offering the kingdom of heaven to the Jews and they rejected it.
Our covenant is a different one. God doesn't break covenants. Men do.

    Galatians 3:11 (KJV):
"But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith."
This verse clearly states that justification before God does not come through the law but through faith. It highlights the fact that no person, in any dispensation, can be made righteous in God's sight solely by observing the law. Instead, faith in God and His redemptive work is the means by which individuals are justified.

      Breaker wasn't misrepresenting anything.
Jesus told the man to sell his possessions and follow him. Those are works.
Jesus drew the distinction between the kingdom of heaven and the kingdom of God right there, in Ono's scriptures that he used as an argument.
Jesus had not died for anyone's sins by that point in time. He had his disciples doing works as well. The kingdom of heaven is the covenant with Israel.
It's not the covenant with the church. The kingdom of God is. That's why Ono has to go to James and Romans to try and support his theology and his theology about our salvation is not wrong and if you watch more that Breaker has to say, you'll find that their doctrine for Christians is identical.
There were no christians before Christ died and rose again. Breaker is the one who isn't taking the Bible out of context.

What bothers me more than anything, is that someone like Robert Breaker would teach on this when he states himself that he doesn't know why Jesus said what he said to the young ruler. Why is he teaching anything then if he isn't sure? We are so overrun with false teaching in today's world that it's amazing to me that anyone can learn the truth, but I'm thankful for channels like this. It's clear to see that Jesus was pointing out that eternal life cannot be obtained by following commandments and that the proper response from the young ruler should have been to ask for mercy rather than to claim to have been obedient.

Thanks Onorato!! The difference between a system dictating belief and the Word of God defining truth. Thus truth was uncovered in your handling of the text which then in turn fosters belief. I count myself as a dispensationalist because the Word of God teaches it but to use any system to superimpose meaning is pure interpolation and violates essential hermeneutical principles. Hebrews 12, Romans 4 and Gal 3 should clear up any confusion at all as to the means of salvation in any dispensation. Always Grace through Faith to receive imputed righteousness (Gal 3:6-9; Rom 4:1-5; Heb 11:6).

Salvation starts with the recognition of Jesus as God the Son in the flesh, once it was obvious the rich young ruler only wanted to WORK and not believe upon Jesus Christ, then the LAW was presented to show it's inability to keep it entirely for salvation.

Also in Luke, before the young ruler came to Jesus, this is what he said.
    Luke 18:9-14 KJV
And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: [10] Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. [11] The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. [12] I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. [13] And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. [14] I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
You would think the pharisees by keeping the law would have gone away justified, but no.
Also, at the end of the same chapter.
    Luke 18:41-43 KJV
Saying, What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight. [42] And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee. [43] And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.
The young ruler was trying to justify him self he didn't want Jesus Christ.
The blind man followed Jesus. The young ruler went away sorrowful.
It's not that difficult. You just have to compare scripture with scripture. Especially in the same chapter.

Wow bro I didn't realize this.... Biblical dispensationalism as Paul said we're in the dispensation of grace, has always been graced through faith, for the last has 6,000 years. That's how Abram was justified Genesis 15:6, by believing God's promise to him and he was made righteous or perfect. Anything other than this is heresy. The law was meant to point us to the sacrificial lamb (because everyone fell short of the law as sin) that was slain both short-term for the Jews and long-term to the Messiah. Old Testament were saved by a credit card point to the future and New Testament were saved by debit card it's already been paid in full by Christ on the cross and resurrected. Thank you for pointing this out. They do not teach true biblical dispensationalism because it's always been by grace through faith.

“You’re overthinking things. Never derive assurance from how you feel, feelings are subject to change. God’s timing is not ours and His way are not our ways. You may “feel” that you escaped chastening because there was no immediate consequence. However, God often uses the natural repercussions of sin to correct us as well. Jeremiah 2:19 says, “Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee”. Relax and rest in God’s unchanging word, not your subjective experience.”

    There is only one Gospel

    Dispensationalism is 100% Biblical.
    Hyper-dispensationalism isn't.
And this is a VITAL distinction that needs to be made.
The term dispensationalism means "administrations" or "economies."
During different periods of time God has dealt with humanity in different/distinct administrations.
But in every dispensation justification (salvation) has always been by God's grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone.
Old Testament saints looked forward to the Coming Messiah ("The Promised Seed"/Jesus) Who would crush the head of the serpent (Satan) first announced in Genesis 3:15 (a.k.a. The "ProtoEvangelium" or "1st Gospel.").
We who live in the current dispensation known as The Church Age are saved by faith alone in Christ alone (trusting in His finished redemptive work on The Cross ALONE).
But in EVERY dispensation individual justification (salvation) has always been by God's grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone!!!
Jesus was The Lamb Slain Before The Foundation of The World!
He is The God of The Old and New Testament!
The entire Bible is about Jesus!
He's the Alpha and The Omega!
No other name under heaven by which ANY MAN can be saved!!!!
The Only Way to The Father in Heaven!!!
No one will be in Heaven whom Jesus didn't save!!!!
Hyper-dispensationalists such as Peter Ruckman, Gene Kim and Robert Breaker teach that God administered different plans of salvation in different dispensations and essentially teach that for most of human history (4k yrs) justification (salvation) was by works, law keeping and animal sacrifice which is EXPLICITLY refuted in Romans 4 and Galatians 3 which both EXPLICITLY teach that both OT saints Abraham and David were both justified (saved) by faith alone apart from any works.
And Hyper-dispensationalists also teach that during The Tribulation people will have to be saved by works as well which is a very dangerous teaching because what they are doing is giving people who may be left behind after the Rapture a false gospel that will only lead them to hell. Those who get saved during the Tribulation will be saved by believing The Gospel that will be preached by the 144,000, 2 Witnesses and 3 angels in the sky. Some say refusing the mark of the beast is a work but again, those who refuse the mark and are martyred will do so as a CONSEQUENCE of being saved not as a REQUIREMENT to BE saved.
Moreover, the Hyper-dispensationalists do great damage to the Gospel by teaching that the Blood of Jesus didn't atone for all the sins of the world but only paid for the sins of people living in the Church Age. And this teaching is the Calvinist teaching of "limited atonement" and it's 100% false. They believe in and teach another Jesus who didn't die for all the sins of the world. And they call Jesus a liar! When Jesus was on this earth He told people to be saved the only requirement was to BELIEVE in Him! "Verily verily I say unto you he who BELIEVES in Me hath everlasting life." (John 6:47)
"For God so loved the world He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever would BELIEVE in Him would not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)
Jesus preached salvation by faith alone in Him alone even to Jews under the Law!!! But the false teachers like Kim and Breaker will try to tell you they were saved by faith plus law/commandment keeping. They call Jesus a liar!!!
Don't be fooled by these fools and their fancy flip charts and white board diagrams who specialize in not rightly dividing the word of God.
They are false teachers who teach heretical doctrines contrary to The Doctrines of Christ and they must be marked and avoided.

AMEN... brother I'm so blessed by your discernment all glory to God of course, but never the less, it's edifying. Now, may I ask a question for myself this time do I dare?
Do you believe we as believers will go through the Great tribulation aka .. Jacob's Trouble? And if so, why? Almost everyone I know believes in a pretrib rapture, but because you know how to rightly divide the Word of Truth, I want to know what God says not man's interpretation... I have been saved for awhile now but just in the last 4-5 years been really learning so much about prophecy etc. God bless you brother and your family in JESUS Name 🙏 and all the saints...

@@dc-wp8oc Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. I haven't "bought" anything, I've been studying and seeking to know what GOD says, and means, because when I read Revelation, it sounds hard to differentiate that it isn't the CHURCH that is being persecuted and killed. In all my years being born again brother , I have never heard of tribulation Saints??? I thought that if you missed the rapture, that was it!!!💔 But scripturally the Tribulation is also known as "Jacob's Trouble" and The CHURCH is not Israel. AND Jesus Himself promised to go prepare a place for US and come back for US the CHURCH/BRIDE OF CHRIST, and it just doesn't make sense why the Church would go through Tribulation when Christ DIED and rose again, and it is finished!? Even Moses got in trouble for striking the rock TWICE because the rock represented CHRIST, and CHRIST died ONCE, hallelujah! I guess we'll find out if God allows us to live to see it.😇 I just saw a news update from one of the "watchmen" ( Chad watchman on the wall 88) that I follow about the upcoming CBDC (OR WHATEVER IT'S CALLED ) DIGITAL CURRENCY, WILL INVOLVE GETTING SOMETHING IMPLANTED UNDER THE SKIN OF ONE'S HAND IN ORDER TO BUY FOOD,WATER AND BE INCLUDED IN SOCIETY... I'M SUMMARIZING IT, NOT QUOTING VERBATIM... SOUNDS LIKE THE MARK OF THE BEAST TO ME, ...GOD BLESS YOU, THE ONLY THING THAT'S IMPORTANT IS THAT WE ( I) BELIEVE BY FAITH THAT JESUS CHRIST IS GOD IN THE FLESH, THE ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD, HE DIED FOR OUR ( MY) SINS ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES, AND THAT HE WAS WAS BURIED AND ROSE AGAIN ON THE THIRD DAY, ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES (1 CORINTHIANS 15:1-4)... I BELIEVE IN THE BLESSED HOPE OF THE RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH, AND LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING MY SAVIOUR'S FACE , BE IT, PRE-TRIB, MID, OR POST, GOD CANNOT LIE!
GOD BLESS YOU IN JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD, AMEN 🙏
