Seriously I haven't seen a Honda, Marisa, for weeks. Seen 1 Lily, 1 Rashid, 1 Guile, 3 Jamie, some Ryu and ken. 1 Chun, 2 Juri, a few Ed and Aki, then it's pretty much all akuma and bison... so boring

Also. Many approaches to choose from (great rush/great footsies/ambiguous jumps/crusher), shimmy game incorporated in scissors on hit and almost automatic spacetraps on block, very strong pressure while having a great meter management, mindgames around the mine. His tools also allow him to play a very passive/reactive game, forcing other characters to take risks. I don't think he's top1, but i can't see him outside of top5, especially after the nerfs to many other characters and the rework around drive reversal.

Unfortunately even if you have a DP, some characters like Ken can throw you, DR whiff jab and be able to block your wakeup uppercut, its a really annoying mix
you brought attention to the lack of anti air options by completely ignoring his air to air conversions. you also did not mention his jump in pressure and mix.
I think Capcom intentionally dropped him as a strong character, some people aren’t going to buy a character that’s trash lol. Then they usually nerf them next patch, same with MK games
I got to Master with Bison and then became a Juri out of regret. Bison doesn’t have to win as many interactions as other characters to get the KO. But once his gimmicks are figured out, he’s disgustingly linear and has no defence. This isn’t to say he’s bad. He just feels like a snowball-character in a snowball-game where being consistent is a game changer.
I think what makes Bison's ex psycho crusher strong is three things: 1) It's initial hurbox doesn't go forward before he's projectile invincible, which is a huge advantage 2) It combos either with level 2 or when their cursed, leading to huge damage. And if they block Bison is plus asf 3)It's fast after startup and goes far 3.5) It's safe on block
what about dragonlash ? plus even when they are not cursed and with full meter. its immune to low attacks and you cant jump over them most of the time. if it hits it leads to huge damage and potentially they can loop back to dragonlash in the mix.
This kind of video suits you well. I honestly stopped watching your videos because I got tired of the "I'm just talking in front of the camera without a script and no editing at all" type of video. This is refreshing.

I decided to start playing Luke like 2 days before Bison releases and oh god, what a bad idea. 100% of the matchups are bison or akuma and both are super annoying. I feel like bison moves are always safe jesus

M.Bison is super fun but definitely not pay to win especially when you face a person that demands you to play honest. No fake blockstrings, no shorter than max range knee presses, it becomes about footsies and winning neutral and maximizing on a few key opportunities which is why I think his potential damage is so high. He doesnt have an easy way in, he has amazing buttons but I dont think he has a significant advantage over most of the cast with maybe only a few exceptions.

I think the problem the community has with Bison is he's cheap like S1 Honda, but 3x as good. Amazing damage, neutral, and offense. His only downside is not having an OD reversal, however that doesn't matter as much in a game where everyone has Drive Reversal and safejumps get gimped by wakeup parry.
This. You hit the nail on the head. His offense is absolutely superb and cheap as hell. It's so strong that it nearly offsets the fact they he has no reversal which is insane to think about.
@@evalangley3985 A case can be made that you are right. EX Honda Headbutt is invincible to projectiles. His butt-smash is similar to what Bison produces in the air. His standing MP is among the best if not the best in the game. He doesn't have a cancelable crouching mk but he does have a command grab. He's actually kind of close.
I'm just glad he doesn't have those annoying teleports he had in SF5. That was such a pain to deal with. He still hits hard but feels more manageable to deal with as an opponent.
In a game where so many characters have literally zero weaknesses, I find it hard to believe people think a character with awful defense and inconsistent anti airs could be top 1. how do i deal with his air approach? its way too mobile and i have like 15 frames after he finalizes his movement input at the peak of his rise to see if its crossup, front or whiff punish bait. I tried air to air but 9 times out of 10 the insane hitbox on it just beats me clean.
It is more manageable than you think. If you have an air grab and bison is doing is stomp, you can air throw him fairly easily when coming down. If you leave him at the other side of the screen, you are going to be played. At jumping range, it is a totally other story and he is very vulnerable.
Another vote for dash/walk under. I played a first to 10 against a good akuma last night and they started doing this about midway through the set. I got punished hard every time they did it as both stomp and devils reverse have very long recovery on whiff.
I was able to get him to Master, but that was solely because people were unfamiliar with him on day one and I just used fundamentals. He's not for me. He's a killer in the lower ranks. But his defense is so poor, it is a detriment in a game with DR.

I definitely agree, I don't think a character with such lacking defense can be top 3 in a game like SF6. He's good for sure, but I think he's a little overrated right now and will calm down a little once things settle down.

Ed is literally one of the strongest character of the game. His neutral game is bonker because of his normals that can be canceled in Drive Rush. If I was to pick a character to master to win, I would use him. His corner game is the best of the game. The only way to get out of it is to Perfect Parry. Broken garbage...

I don't know if he's broken as in top 1 or anything, but he's very strong and more importantly/annoyingly he is very cheap. He's like a more annoying version of season 1 Honda. All his specials are very difficult to deal with while being mindless and ridiculously easy to do. There are legit Bison players at 1700 just spamming scissor kicks, devil's reverse, and then throwing out ex psycho crusher when they aren't in range.
It's just the usual SF6 discourse. People will go wild complaining about a character for a few weeks then move on to the next one. Prime example, when was the last time you heard someone complain about blanka? He largely escaped nerfs in the patch but people just forgot about him and moved on to rashid and now bison.

There's a bit more scaling on the doll mixups in the corner but they still work the same as before and delete massive chunks of people's life bars. The point I was making was that there was a week or two when everyone on twitter was losing their minds about problem x hitting that one corner mix up, claiming blanka was top 1 in the game. It all died down after a couple of weeks even though problem still hits people with the same set up post patch. They moved on to complaining about Rashid and now bison. I'm sure someone else will be public enemy number one in a couple of weeks once people are used to playing against bison.

They're largely the same but all of Twitter isn't calling for blanka to be variously nerfed, deleted from the game or taken out and shot like they were for a while. People just like complaining about stuff but lose interest pretty quickly.

This helped people deal with his obnoxious stuff and everyone realises he's strong but not obnoxious anymore. Bison Air attacks is what is giving me the most problems atm. I do not like to meet in the air, i want to DP!!!!! I hate ALL air mobility direction changes in the game. Delete his air mobility and make all psycho crusher moves unsafe on block no matter the spacing.
I think he is mid in this game. He’s been stripped of the gimmicks in SFV that made him fun. His specials aren’t safe either so you’re relying on hit confirms. He’s as boring as SFIV Bison but now there is no chip in the game for him to benefit. Damage is great though.
I think bison is a great trade off between offensive and defensive.he has big damage and is very meter hungry but lacks defensive options and can get punished for any mistake he makes

People are definitely over reacting calling him to tier or even close to top 3. Bison has no defense and with a game that pure offense he gets destroyed easily but he can destroy people as well with his pressure.

This is the biggest downplay I’ve seen. Idk who these people complaining about his anti air came from all of a sudden but I think I’ve only seen him miss it like once on Me and I have over 100 ranked games against him. Also they are minus on block but good bisons aren’t spamming crusher. Scissor kick is minus but leaves so much room most characters can’t hit him with a fast enough button. Yea why would a character with some of the best offensive pressure in the game need an invincible wake up? Marisa doesn’t have one and she’s not even top 10. Yea every character has to fish for a hit control to win. Stop acting like his a B tier character he’s easily in the S tier
I hate to say it but I disagree completely. I think he's very comfortably top 1 for 99% of the player base and probably top 1 or 2 for the highest level of players. His only real competition is rashid. But hey evos soon we'll find out quickly.
@@neves2493 season 1 is tricky because of the mid season patch but I'd say roughly JP, Luke, Ken, Blanka, Chun. But after the JP nerfs shift them all up a place and put deejay 5th.
Bison is good at lower levels. He's getting washed at higher levels. Once you get that 2:43 in a really bad spot. Having no invincible reversal is a big problem. I hot him to Master on day one (due to people not knowing the character), not because I'm that good....but now that I'm playing 1500/1600 MR players...I'm getting WASHED, RINSED, AND PUT OUT TO DRY.
No, you got the right feel. The game can be really though against a character imposing a good neutral game. If you can't break the defense of your opponent, you are going to lose.
I got to master with him and no, he is not as OP as the people are complaining about. He is in a bad spot if he is knocked down and it is almost impossible to get out of the corner. He is great against shoto, good against fireballs, just okay against characters like Honda and Blanka, and absolutely awful against grapplers.
No invincible DP. Scissors are punishable. All air moves are easy to react to. No fire ball. No teleport. No air throw. No command grab . He is not even close to the top tier .
Sorry ,forgot to mention. His special moves can be cancelled with a normal move. His upper cut Cr. HP and Cr.MK range and hitbox are awful. Some start up moves are pretty slow. Anything else?
Every Bison ive played against in high plat/low diamond is "scissor kick and looking for the twitter combo that does 70%" and i respect that

Sounds like the same deal that Bison had in SFV: Damage monster, Strong Offense, Safe on a lot of stuff, but weak defense outside of Super

Depends on your character...I've seen Juri with delayed crouching mp beats his devil reverse stuff

All his specials are very difficult to deal with while being mindless and ridiculously easy to do. There are legit Bison players at 1700 just spamming scissor kicks, devil's reverse, and then throwing out ex psycho crusher when they aren't in range.

People will go wild complaining about a character for a few weeks then move on to the next one.
Prime example, when was the last time you heard someone complain about blanka? He largely escaped nerfs in the patch but people just forgot about him and moved on to rashid and now bison.
No blankas nerfs were significant enough to make a decent difference. Tell me you don't know the character without telling me.
@@imyourmaster7270 yeah I main blanka so know the character reasonably well. Yes, he got some nerfs. There's a bit more scaling on the doll mixups in the corner but they still work the same as before and delete massive chunks of people's life bars.
The point I was making was that there was a week or two when everyone on twitter was losing their minds about problem x hitting that one corner mix up, claiming blanka was top 1 in the game. It all died down after a couple of weeks even though problem still hits people with the same set up post patch.
They moved on to complaining about Rashid and now bison. I'm sure someone else will be public enemy number one in a couple of weeks once people are used to playing against bison.
@@pang_xiong_mao that wasn't even the main nerf, it was the ex air ball. I main blanka too. You definitely feel a significant difference. He went from top 5 to top 9
@@imyourmaster7270 yeah the air ball NERF hurts a bit, still useable but not as strong as it was. The thing people were whining the most about though was the doll setups with level 2 in the corner. They're largely the same but all of Twitter isn't calling for blanka to be variously nerfed, deleted from the game or taken out and shot like they were for a while. People just like complaining about stuff but lose interest pretty quickly.
@@pang_xiong_mao that's because he got the multiple nerfs and the inclusion of a drive reversal. This helped people deal with his obnoxious stuff and everyone realises he's strong but not obnoxious anymore. The point is if he didn't get those nerfs and drive reversal didn't get improved people would still be complaining. Hes a lot more fair now.

Bison Air attacks is what is giving me the most problems atm. I do not like to meet in the air, i want to DP!!!!! I hate ALL air mobility direction changes in the game. Delete his air mobility and make all psycho crusher moves unsafe on block no matter the spacing.

I think he is mid in this game. He’s been stripped of the gimmicks in SFV that made him fun. His specials aren’t safe either so you’re relying on hit confirms. He’s as boring as SFIV Bison but now there is no chip in the game for him to benefit. Damage is great though.
I think bison is a great trade off between offensive and defensive.he has big damage and is very meter hungry but lacks defensive options and can get punished for any mistake he makes

People are definitely over reacting calling him to tier or even close to top 3. Bison has no defense and with a game that pure offense he gets destroyed easily but he can destroy people as well with his pressure.

He's perfectly balanced. He's really honest. Just needs his forward teledash back from SF5.

This is the biggest downplay I’ve seen. Idk who these people complaining about his anti air came from all of a sudden but I think I’ve only seen him miss it like once on Me and I have over 100 ranked games against him. Also they are minus on block but good bisons aren’t spamming crusher. Scissor kick is minus but leaves so much room most characters can’t hit him with a fast enough button. Yea why would a character with some of the best offensive pressure in the game need an invincible wake up? Marisa doesn’t have one and she’s not even top 10. Yea every character has to fish for a hit control to win. Stop acting like his a B tier character he’s easily in the S tier
I hate to say it but I disagree completely. I think he's very comfortably top 1 for 99% of the player base and probably top 1 or 2 for the highest level of players.
His only real competition is rashid.
But hey evos soon we'll find out quickly.
Absolutely not... When you get to Master, you understand his drawbacks. Honda is way better than Bison at its own game.

@@neves2493 season 1 is tricky because of the mid season patch but I'd say roughly JP, Luke, Ken, Blanka, Chun. But after the JP nerfs shift them all up a place and put deejay 5th.
Bison is good at lower levels. He's getting washed at higher levels. Once you get that 2:43 in a really bad spot. Having no invincible reversal is a big problem. I hot him to Master on day one (due to people not knowing the character), not because I'm that good....but now that I'm playing 1500/1600 MR players...I'm getting WASHED, RINSED, AND PUT OUT TO DRY.

No, you got the right feel. The game can be really though against a character imposing a good neutral game. If you can't break the defense of your opponent, you are going to lose.
Bison is a scrub killer lol naturally they will croak about it nonstop. Lab it out and stop clucking, kids
Gotta love having to buy a character for real money or use limited rental tickets just to lab how to deal with them in single-player training mode.
I got to master with him and no, he is not as OP as the people are complaining about. He is in a bad spot if he is knocked down and it is almost impossible to get out of the corner. He is great against shoto, good against fireballs, just okay against characters like Honda and Blanka, and absolutely awful against grapplers.

No invincible DP. Scissors are punishable. All air moves are easy to react to. No fire ball. No teleport. No air throw. No command grab . He is not even close to the top tier .

Sorry ,forgot to mention. His special moves can be cancelled with a normal move. His upper cut Cr. HP and Cr.MK range and hitbox are awful. Some start up moves are pretty slow. Anything else?
