@@octavianpopescu4776 Let's break down Atmuz's role in this. He is a part of Gaming YT, which is a huge part of normal YT. YT as a whole is a strong competitor to mainstream media. By himself, Atmuz doesn't have as much influence as The View, but he still makes up part of the commonly held belief in Gaming YT that mainstream media is incompetent on the subject of video games. They might be saying that because that's what they genuinely think, but professional gaming YTers have an incentive to say it because if people were less into video games, they would be watched less and wouldn't have a job. I think it's just the same as professional TV hosts making fun of video games. Regardless of whether they think video games are bad, if people were more into video games, and also watching video game content, the TV hosts would be watched less and could lose their job. The problem with this mindset is that we aren't able to consider a point objectively, because instead of looking at the point based on its own merits, we only see it as a method for someone to push their own selfish agenda, whether or not they actually have one. Do you agree?
I’d rather be alone and play video games than to be in a society full of fakes and if that makes me a loser so be it. I’m done caring what people think about me.
You can also be alone in a gym, but that would require leaving your house and moving more than your fingers which is presumably physically painful to you.
I love how people and media treat people who enjoy videogames like garbage, meanwhile, they give ALL the passes and thumbsup for sports fans (mainly soccer and Basketball). Like, i know that the majority of people who enjoy watching sports are normal, but its crazy how NOBODY ever mentions them. Even though NO OTHER COMMUNITY are willing to literally beat, kill or torture others over just liking the other team!
Funny how not even with E-Sports, which is raking money by the millions, they still aren't taken seriously. Moral of the story: You will try so hard, and you will get so far. But, in the end, it doesn't even matter.
If you want to know how the world works, just know that it’s all about the money & news outlets aren’t getting paid to advertise gamers in a positive light.
Maybe those gamers stay on their own, because society is fucked up with their social media addiction and their main-character-syndrome. No sane people want to deal with those wannabe Kardashians and extroverts.
It's about self-discipline, not the hobby itself. I'm almost 50, have been playing games since Atari. I prefer to finish all my chores first before starting.
Another thing that doesn’t help is the fact that so many people lack the emotional intelligence to not resort to temper tantrums over frustration for a game loss It’s the same as sports fans when their favorite team loses And gaming being so accessible and addictive, it carries over a big baggage of addiction and anger issues that give a really bad image, and it’s not even a “bad apple” kind of deal because I KNOW 90% of the gaming community has/has had issues with this during a gaming session And let’s not even get started on the incentives on spending, gambling and insane number of expansions that are added solely to keep you hooked up throwing money at them Video games have good things but they also have very bad things here and there. The problem is that media and people outside of the bubble focus only on this negatives and completely abolish the community as a whole

"Gaming is for losers", but Netflix couch surfing is "normal" and going to bars and getting hammered is even seen as "cool"... Gaming is OBJECTIVELY the superior activity here. The scientific evidence for its cognitive benefits (when done in moderation) is unquestionable. Gamers, in general, have far superior spatial reasoning and awareness, superior reaction time, higher fluid intelligence, and excellent attention spans. (depends on play time, and above a certain amount, cognitive effects can be negative) Studies are not hard to find.
Exactly. Im playing games from 6 years old now im 37 and im a loser who lives with his mom. And im a virgin. And im fat. And i dont have a job or anything in life. So it is true.
I have countless hours in video games, from middle school to now as a junior in college I have spent the large majority of my free time playing video games. I also played college football for 2 years, played three sports through middle school and high school competing in state for throwing junior and senior year as well as many football awards, I graduated valedictorian and have over a 3.8 GPA as an engineering major in college, I worked an internship in the oil field last summer and have another internship next summer. Not only do I prove that video gamers aren’t all lazy bums, I attribute a lot of my success to the skills and lessons learned while playing games.
People who are looking down video games and gamers are usually the most uninteresting, egoistic and self centrick people who in real life are just simply miserable and feel good about looking down others and lack even the base willingness to understand games as an art form. Just ask about their hobbies and you will understand everything about them.
The same people who hate video games are honestly the ones more interested in games than I am and as someone who spends about 100 to 200 dollars on games throughout every two to three years and I can perfectly say that Video games are like shows or movies were you spend and hour or two on it then go about your day
It depends on your priorities, if you neglect everything else you need to do and just play video games; that’s not good, but if you take care of all of your responsibilities in addition to playing video games then that’s OK
That's what it is. Some ppl see it as gamers not taking care of things. There are ppl like that but most gamers have lives. It's pretty much impossible to game 24/7 with a full time job, outside hobbies and a family.

*the moment a person criticizes me in even the slightest way about being a gamer, I just stop acknowledging their existence. you don't get to be stupid and still be treated like an intelligent person.*
So what your saying is if you game as a single person, your a loser? As someone who has been single his whole life and been gaming since being a kid that's stupid. What's wrong with being single anyways? Dating ain't worth it, have you seen the modern dating market? Social media ruined everything. As for the rest of the video, gaming is accepted now, if gaming wasn't do you think we'd have DEI woke disaster games like we get all the time now? No, games would still be good and aimed at people who actually play video games.
It's quite hypocritical for non gamers to keep criticizing gamers when they also waste a lot of time on things that don't make them money. Whether it's binge-watching tv, scrolling through TikTok, or partying at clubs and bars, they're not really being any more productive than those who spend hours gaming. In fact, they might even be lazier in how they use their time, yet they never pause to consider that, at the end of the day.
Video games like anything else can be taken to far . I am disabled so I spend a lot of my time playing video games. Not so much anymore I rather workout, study programming, study 3d animation and modeling , game design , crafting etc… I spend very little time playing video games anymore but people still consider me a loser .

Okay, I'll admit, the last type of BGM I ever expected to hear in this video is the soundtrack of Pokemon. Edit: Of course, that woman who ridiculed a child that wasn't even hers ended up getting ridiculed by the internet. And the internet wasn't very kind to her.
Esports is cringe. video games are great, as they have the most potential to be the highest form of art. These people are stupid because they blame us for wasting time on a useless thing, when they themselves watch drama tv or netflix series, or hell, read a book. They're wasting just as much time, if not more, because we're at least doing something while interacting with said thing. At the same time, when the mainstream talk is GTA, COD, Fortnite etc., I can see how it can have a bad reputation for people that don't understand it.
ugh. i don't game regularly anymore. not that my screen time has gone down in any real capacity, its just filled with thing that aren't gaming. heck, take whatever career thats a synonim for productivity you want, the people doing it probably have more screen time than gamers did when the world was already like "gaming is a problem". "gamers are fat, single and have bad social skills" but is it because people who aren't able to be athletic or have bad social skills finnally found a hobby they can participate in? or is it because games made them that way? also, can we stop valuing people by their ability to find a partner?
Thankfully, the people in my life have been respectful and understanding of my hobbies. Some even play games themselves. And if I ever run into a boomer who thinks I’m wasting my time, and that I’m pathetic. I’m just gonna say something like “Oh yeah? Also…The video game industry makes more money then Movies, TV, books, music, or comics, Do your research Karen.
First mistake is trying to group all gamers in a single definition. I know one of the larger audiences for the META VR headset is retired seniors playing things like golf and traveling in the Meta universe. I am a senior PC gamer that enjoys RTS, RPG and racing and combat flying Sims. I have health issues that prevent me from any longer doing many physical activities I have always enjoyed during my life. But I have been an avid gamer my entire life only not to the degree it totally consumed my every waking hour. When I was much younger I can remember a bunch of friends getting together and having gaming parties playing either Risk or Axis and Allies board games. These days friends can get together and play games together and never leave their house and play in their underwear if they choose so what is the difference really other than the convenience? The secret is to include gaming into a more balanced lifestyle rather than be one that gaming is all that exist in your life. When a person is getting to the point they travel to events to dress up as their favorite gaming character and running around that way they might have a gaming problem. I have never understood the draw to COSPLAY public events but then when you see these events and what they draw you wonder why the mainsream media is looking at Gaming the way they are and questioning the nerds and wierdo's that seem to be attracted to these events? What would you call a 500+ lb younger adult running around in a Startrooper costume?
My room looks quite good. i always use the trashcan and i keep my setup clean. when i show it to other people they always think my whole room is messy and full of chips and drinks an other rubbish but that is really not true. So i am doing my part in making gamers have a little better image. ofc my room is not perfect some clothes and stuff are lying on the ground but nothing special at all. PS: I have nearly every product from steelseries. please give steelseries a chance i love their products and use them for many years now and only 1 headset broke but that was my fault and they still gave me a free new one.
As long as you're happy and you don't hurt anyone in the process. It's your life, not theirs. People should just mind their own business and realise they're not as perfect as they think
While its true that most gamers arent stinky and socially awkard, most of those gamers arent really visible and keep to themselves for the most part. Most of those gaming events attract a lot of the more unsavory folk leading to a skewed perspective of the community.
Gaming as a hobbyist fine. It can however, become an addiction. I lost 10 years of my life to world of war craft. Then I blamed student loans, politicians, inflation for my life. I should've been busy rising above
We somehow live in the world where you're a loser for being a gamer, but gaming is still too popular, so videogame developers try to appeal to a broader audience by some questionable decisions... You just can't win
I really laugh at this era. Plenty of people that i know in the fields of machine learning , data scientists etc., are avid gamers. And the media, journalists all over depicting nVidia as the role model of success, that discovered the company in the last couple of years, the ones with no knowledge of the videogame industry, completely ignore the fact that it was US GAMERS that made the company what is it TODAY, 20+ years ago. A company dedicated to manufacturing dedicated cards for a "loser hobby". It was OUR money, GOOD money that us video game players spent over the years, that gave nVidia the power to shift its focus to the other industries, and most probably play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the West. And the future AI specialists, which will enjoy the most sought after jobs, are most probably "playing games" right now. The very people who are supposed to shape the future of human civilization. ...but sure. People who play video games as adults are good for nothing losers. ...this era is really the ultimate revenge of "computer nerds" !
Funnily enough, since this video was published Asmon has made an actual effort to get his shit together and clean. There was even apparently a wolf spider in his sink lol
This is why I hate the whole DEI thing in gaming right now, and even more specifically the narrative that women play video games and we need more representation for them. Like, no? Women have made fun of and hated on gaming my whole life and still do, and I'm 29. Soon as any date finds out I game they're immediately disinterested. Yet I'm supposed to believe that women in general game? When it seems like it's a minority of women game and a minority of gamers are women?
Good. What i learned over time is that if when my hobbies become normalized they become filled with toxic people. Let them laugh at me as long as they leave the things i love alone and not try to "fix" them to appeal to EVERYONE.
I always loved the claim that Doom and Diablo would corrupt kids. It just shows how little the news outlets looked at the games. You are fighting evil, not joining it.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I've played video games for most of my life having 6k hrs in R6, 3k in GTA and more. All people who called me a loser and tried to go against me smoke, eat sugar and live shitty lifestyle while I lift weights, do boxing, TKD and make more money then them, while still having a job for being mentally healthy. The thing is that not being a gamer or nerd does not make you a "winner" and being so selfish and arrogant can destroy you as a person
Tell me 10 valid ways a videogame is more of a time wasting hobby than f*cking Fantasy Football, or watching any NBA comercials, and I'll say: "So? It's my hobby, so why do _you_ care? You don't have to like it, but don't insult me for it."
Fantasy Football has the most genius marketing of all time. They somehow made an entire DnD-esque NFL fan fiction simulator you spend hours on with your friends and indulge in the prospective fan fiction like they don’t already have the actual sport and Madden and got people to think that it isn’t loser behavior because football I guess.
It's not only gamers who get disrespected by a lot of people, but seemingly any group that devotes the bulk of their time and energy to celebrating intellectual property that's owned by others (see the reputation of Trekkies for another example). Unfortunately, we may simply have to wait until a lot of the classic games hit the public domain to be viewed more like that scholar who analyzes Shakespeare than that geek who's obsessed with Harry Potter.
People really need to understand that just like watching a TV series or watching a movie or watching sports on TV. Video games is also a source of entertainment and if anything, it takes more work and effort to play video games, then to watch something entertaining.
Why did parents buy the games they thought were rotting their childrens' brains? "Here's a liter of coke, honey. Oh, my word! What has happened to your teeth?" Well, I guess that is realistic. And then those Karens and Kyles who I know don't go outside themselves will design towns and cities hostile to pedestrian or public travel, meaning kids won't be able to get anywhere even if they do go outside.
Meanwhile these day the media and certain consulting companies tries to destroy gaming as a whole with games should be more realistic and ad more political correctness and diversity/DEI that end up scaring the hardcore gamers and nerds which is really sad how nerds are treated by the public
I think the "bad apples" you are talking about are more common than you would think they are. I honestly could never understand how would somebody hold their piss or shit themselves for finishing a dungeon in WOW or something of that sort. It doesn't help that sometime ago a man shot his friend for an item in diablo 2 , it doesn't help that fortnite became a way for games to be mainstream in this day and age with it being a vibe with the kids and kids spending numerous hours on it and other games. I know people like this who are "happy losers" personally my pride would never allow me to be a happy loser I would rather succeed in life and give ppl the middle finger by playing video games and being successful.
Problem is defining a "loser" I've been playing videogames since I was 8 years old I'm SIXTY now, yes 60 I have a college degree, two specialties and a masters degree I am a Vet I started with nothing, now I have a vet hospital, 3 houses, 3 vehicles I'm married and have 2 kids, I used to play with them but now they are grown up and have other priorities than playing videogames with tgeir old man I religiously play everyday for a couple of hours not only because I like videogames but it's a way for me to rest from work I like fishing too but I can't go fishing everyday, but I can fire up any of my systems and have my fix anytime So, what are the parameters to be considered a "loser" ?
Actually, there is a difference though; one strengthens your concentration while the other messes up your attention span. Then again, that’s probably because most people who play video games obsessively have a form of ADHD and struggles to read even a page without spotting and have their minds wonder off to whatever imagination they have.
Games are and bad as well , no matter what you say games give too much dopamine, and takes too much of our time, it's easy neglect important things if you play games , and yes it's easy to play games and the more you play games the more you are wired to play , games or not for everyone just like alcohol , but sure the games should be part of our life to give better benefits like education .Luckily there are games like that . There are good sides of games but problem as well as great thing is that they are so mainstream.

Maybe just touch some grass you psycho. Or at least try not to play no russian irl, bcs you are sounding like a wannabe-joker and a flight risk
You can also be alone in a gym, but that would require leaving your house and moving more than your fingers which is presumably physically painful to you.
"Be a lazy old video gamer."
All you do is sit in the news station and read from a script.
😂
Fr lmao
Which is called a job. You’re not making money from playing video games. You’re just physically weak because of it lol.
Moral of the story:
You will try so hard, and you will get so far.
But, in the end, it doesn't even matter.
sports have been around for 1000s of years so about as old as these news anchors
@@belstar1128 And that justifies the criminally unhinged things some of the fans do and say?
@@dylives7667 it starts with...
If you want to know how the world works, just know that it’s all about the money & news outlets aren’t getting paid to advertise gamers in a positive light.
Pretty much every "adult" I know games to some extent lol. Even my dad that's retired will fire up metal gear every so often.
The metal gear series is just an interactive movie lolol. I love them all, in their own ways at least lolol
Your Dad is a great man 🙏👑
Me and my dad still play Fifa together. He's 45 now.
Standing her I realize
I am 78 years old and I play a fishing simulator a lot...
For me games themselves take self-discipline and take as much motivation to finish as reading novel, but that may be different than others.
Work first...play later....
Another thing that doesn’t help is the fact that so many people lack the emotional intelligence to not resort to temper tantrums over frustration for a game loss
It’s the same as sports fans when their favorite team loses
And gaming being so accessible and addictive, it carries over a big baggage of addiction and anger issues that give a really bad image, and it’s not even a “bad apple” kind of deal because I KNOW 90% of the gaming community has/has had issues with this during a gaming session
And let’s not even get started on the incentives on spending, gambling and insane number of expansions that are added solely to keep you hooked up throwing money at them
Video games have good things but they also have very bad things here and there. The problem is that media and people outside of the bubble focus only on this negatives and completely abolish the community as a whole
I'm a gammer, I go to the gym everyday, I go camping, I go hiking 7h sometimes. I was an Archeologist, currently unemployed and living in my parents house, ok, but because I'm finishing a veterinary internship to change jobs.
It's time for society to learn that gamers are much more than the stigma, and that thanks to gaming some who can't afford therapy aren't out there killing themselves or other people.
I think Manhunt 2(and my love for animals)is what stopped me from killing my family, LOL!
Because people are so one dimensional they think that's the ONLY thing peoole do is play video games. They can't imagine them having other hobbies, goals, and enjoyment. Like no not all people are normies and only enjoy one thing and stick with that one thing. Video games can be fun but they get boring and you wanna find other hobbies to do instead sometimes
It's gamer not gammer
So what? Video games have made me a happy loser. It's my escape and I hold it sacred.
I rather spend my money on shit that makes me happy rather than not be happy. I guess people miss the point of what life's about
Living in Mom's basement, not working, and playing video games all day sounds like living the American dream to me.
Taking out the mom's basement part, yeah that's the dream when I retire
This is me currently except I don’t live in the basement.
First off, no it's not an American only thing. Second, saying that someone lives in their mother's basement sounds childish and stupid.
Thats not it. That's addiction.

Honestly? I miss when the mainstream thought this way, and it led them to stay AWAY from video games.
These days, the game industry is full of people who hate video games/gamers and they’re actively tearing it down
People can often make you feel worse about being a loser than being a loser does.
How people use their Charisma and Social standing in the joke of a genetically binding system that is today's global society for such evils. How are they not able to understand the wrongness of their actions? One of the possible explanations is that they are too close-minded to understand the opposite side or if they do it intentionally then they must be stopped either way. I will not let them to blind the gaming community with their Charisma and Confidence!🗣🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥
I think the crazy thing is that a lot of the people making games (executives, actors, even plenty of devs) also see gamers as losers if we don't like certain aspects of a game.
That "talentless freaks" tweet when it comes to Concord, for example
Weird they don't think watching war movies and reading horror books doesn't make people violent.
This is what I be saying when video games be violent they always blame people for being violent but horror movies has serial killers kill people and they say nothing about that.
I think it's the interactive input/output element that's the breaker for them.
I’m just a guy who likes playing games when I have some time on my hands.
Its mainly because most girls hate it and girls believe it or not set the trends in pop culture and guys often follow jusy to try and catch their attention. Also boomers HATED videogames because they simply didnt understand them. End of story.
i remember one day at school many years ago when i was talking (flirting) to an ex girlfriend on recess, then my friend aproached me to ask if i was going to login on the minecraft server we played at the time.. she looked at me with the most disgusted expression, asked "you play minecraft?" i was like "yeah.." she started walking and never spoke to me ever again.. it was a douche move from him, he did it on purpose, but now that i think about it i have better memories playing minecraft with him than the time i spent with her.
There's older who still gaming such as grandpa, grandma, but are uncommon.
At least playing video games keep your brain and reflexes active instead of being braindead and stare at dramas on netflix all day
FACTS 🔥🗣
Real talk!
True
"Gaming is for losers", but Netflix couch surfing is "normal" and going to bars and getting hammered is even seen as "cool"... Gaming is OBJECTIVELY the superior activity here. The scientific evidence for its cognitive benefits (when done in moderation) is unquestionable. Gamers, in general, have far superior spatial reasoning and awareness, superior reaction time, higher fluid intelligence, and excellent attention spans. (depends on play time, and above a certain amount, cognitive effects can be negative) Studies are not hard to find.
I don't give a damn what anyone else says.
This is the way.
Same Idgaf what people who whole job is to sit down all day and talk about drama thinks about me.

The same people who hate video games are honestly the ones more interested in games than I am and as someone who spends about 100 to 200 dollars on games throughout every two to three years and I can perfectly say that Video games are like shows or movies were you spend and hour or two on it then go about your day
It depends on your priorities, if you neglect everything else you need to do and just play video games; that’s not good, but if you take care of all of your responsibilities in addition to playing video games then that’s OK
nah it's okay either way dummy
That's what it is. Some ppl see it as gamers not taking care of things. There are ppl like that but most gamers have lives. It's pretty much impossible to game 24/7 with a full time job, outside hobbies and a family.

I am disabled so I spend a lot of my time playing video games. video games are great, as they have the most potential to be the highest form of art.

A company dedicated to manufacturing dedicated cards for a "loser hobby". It was OUR money, GOOD money that us video game players spent over the years, that gave nVidia the power to shift its focus to the other industries, and most probably play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the West.

I'm married and have 2 kids, I used to play with them but now they are grown up and have other priorities than playing videogames with tgeir old man
I religiously play everyday for a couple of hours not only because I like videogames but it's a way for me to rest from work
I like fishing too but I can't go fishing everyday, but I can fire up any of my systems and have my fix anytime
So, what are the parameters to be considered a "loser" ?
Playing a video game is no different than reading a book tbh
Actually, there is a difference though; one strengthens your concentration while the other messes up your attention span.
