  • Big Dipper at Camden Park in Huntington, WV.
Replacing the park's The New Sensation side friction roller coaster (1912-1957), Big Dipper was built in 1958 by the National Amusement Device Company (NAD). Designed by Aurel Vaszin and supervised by Jerome A. Leis, Big Dipper is 1,800 feet long and stands 50-feet tall with a 35-foot drop being its largest. NAPHA commends Camden Park for continuing to operate Big Dipper as well as Lil' Dipper, two classic NAD wooden coasters.
