Most people in their 50s feel like they’re too old for these things. I love that you two are just big kids still.
We love this kind of thing. I'm almost 60 now being at 58 so I feel sore the next day 😎😎
I loved Camden Park growing up! My parents took me several times every summer starting when I was 3 in 63. There used to be a Zoo there with an Elephant, Buffalo and a Gorilla. The pronto pups were my favorite! Lots of great wonderful memories in this park with my parents and cousins!
We had a good time. This park is like going back in time. Thanks for watching and commenting. 😎😎
I remember this place as a kid! There use to be a cafeteria in there. The spider rides missing. The slide and bumper cars are gone. I need to take my grandkids there. Thanks John and Bobbi! You bought back alot of memories and good times!
Didn't look like many people were there.
We are glad you enjoyed it. We did have fun. Thanks for watching. 😎😎
It was Mother's Day.😎😎
@@pregnant9574, these days it’s never as crowded as it was when I was a kid, or when I worked there when I was in college. Use to be cars parked on both sides of the road, filling the little patch of ground across the road, and the parking lot full on the weekends.
The cafeteria is still there. The bumper cars burned down years ago so did the old skee ball and roller rink.
Nice job!I have loved amusement parks since i was very little. Now with age & health issues,i relegate myself to watching big kids like you have fun. Thanks for sharing your day!!You all do a nice take!!
Thank you. We enjoy amusement parks. We appreciate you watching and commenting. Take care. 😎😎
I was so excited to see this video! Brought back a lot of memories for me. Back in the 1970’s my Papaw worked for the Goodyear Atomic Plant in Pike County Ohio and every Summer the plant would reserve the park for a day for the employee’s and families. My grandparents would take our family and my Aunt and Uncle and cousins and it was so special! We could not have afforded to go otherwise. There used to be a cafeteria style restaurant where we had to eat “a decent lunch” per the grandparents, before getting to ride. I was always too scared to ride The Big Dipper and much preferred the smaller version! I remember the snow cones and pronto pups which I think were only 25 cents back then. I am glad the park is enjoying a new popularity. A wonderful and more affordable reminder of the time before all the expensive commercialized parks of today.
Thank you for sharing your memory. Sounds like it was a good time. Thanks for watching and commenting. 😎😎
great video. i have fond memoires of Camden Park in the late 1960's. Great Video. Thank you for sharing.
You are welcome. It is an old park. Thanks for watching. 😎😎
I grew up going to this place. They used to have a skating rink. I spent every summer here and at the rink every winter. Great memories and good times
I didn't know they used to have a skating rink. This was our first time here. We had a good time. 😎😎
Love going back and watching your old videos. I remember going to Camden park when I was little and crying every time at the sight of the big clown on the sign. 😂😂😂 only Tristaters get it!
A lot of kids are scared of clowns. We appreciate you watching. 😎😎
Very fun to watch ☺️
We tried to make it fun.😎😎
Best summers in early 80's my dad got family pass every summer. Best years ever C.P.
Good memories. 😎😎
Such an awesome place!! Price of food is very reasonable!!
It is. Not far from you 3 hours away you need to check it out. 😎😎
I grew up in Huntington. Loved this park! Thank you for this throw back. ❤
You are welcome. John and I had a fun time. 😎😎
I love about 3 mins from here!
John and I had a fun time at the park. 😎😎
That slingshot ride looks fun
Grew up going here as a child. Great memories.
This was our first time here. We had a fun time. 😎😎
BOBBIE & JOHN U ARE AWESOME
Thank you. We appreciate it. 😎😎
I was thinking it was 1950 vintage. Love the merry go around.
It was like going back in time.😎😎
You are doing a great job featuring West Virginia. I think it is wonderful. Food prices were a bit high, but the place wasn’t crazy busy. It took me back to when times were simpler. Thanks.
Yes I really appreciate a different location besides Tennessee
It just had that retro feel to it.We had great time.😎😎
We have probably around 12 more Smoky Videos but a few nobody as ever done before. Pigeon Forge is our favorite place to go.😎😎Glad you enjoyed this
@@cheryldavis2893 yes. I am on overload with Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. There must be other resort destinations. What about Hot Springs, Arkansas, the Biltmore, Mt Gretna, PA, the Betsy Ross House, Benjamin Franklin House, Altoona’s Horseshoe Curve.
Hi, can you describe what you mean by “when times were simpler”? This park existed during both world wars, during assassinations of presidents, during race riots and segregation, and before women could vote. Are those the simple times you wish we could go back to?
I haven’t been there in 30 years and it still looks the same. I’d come up from Chicago and stay with my grandparents in ky for the summer and I loved Camden park. I’ll be driving down there this weekend to take my kids.
This is the first time John I have ever been to this park. We had a fun time. Have fun with your kids.😎😎
it’s so nice everybody showing love to my hometown 🙏🏻 use to go there so much as a kid
We had a fun time. Thanks for watching. 😎😎
The parachutes ride brought back a memory of me taking my mom on to a very similar ride.
"Oh, this is nice!"
Then the ride operator stopped the ride, and sent it in reverse! Oh, how she SCREAMED! (Mom swore for the rest of her life that he laughed!)
Mom never went on another ride with me. 😅
I'd LOVE to go to Camden Park! It looks like fun! And thank you for this!
Thank you for sharing your memories. That made me laugh about her Mom screaming. 😎😎
I lived in Huntington until I graduated from high school. Always every year before summer school break we always got to spend a special day for a picnic in Camden Park. My favorite was always the dodgem cars. Brought back a lot of good memories.
We are glad you enjoyed the enjoyed. Thanks for watching and commenting. 😎😎
What a cute place. The food looked good.
We had a fun time. Thanks for watching. 😎😎
Nice job and glad respected what you experienced...
Thank you. It is an older park but we had a fun time. 😎😎
Thank ypu had a great time
You are welcome. Thanks for watching. 😎😎
I enjoyed this. These iconic parks are disappearing. Kinda sad. The big super parks are amazing, but there is something so nostalgic about the smaller family places. Thanks, guys!!
I agree with you. Very nice park for the family. Thanks for watching. 😎😎
I grew up in Huntington WV. Still live here. I'm 50 and let me tell you that Camden Park was a huge part of my childhood. This video is just great. It's a different kinda place but imagine being a kid and living so close to this place. Been here probably 30 times. The BIG DIPPER IS AWESOME! So sorry you couldn't experience it. Went here a few years ago when we had our family reunion. All the cousins (37 - 54 year old adults)!!!! Was great! So many memories. Thanks for the video!!!
@@AprilR7100 We are glad you enjoyed the video. I bet it was fun living close to an amusement park. Thanks for watching and commenting. 😎😎
I remember going there as a child in the '60's! Good family fun!
I bet that place was great back then.😎😎
great review i love old school amusement parks, i love that corn dog
This was a very unique place Frank😎😎
@@jbinthehills i agree with you it looked unique
The slingshot looked super fun!!
It was fun and spun alot.😎😎
I remember in the mid to late 80's my Parents and Aunts and Uncles gathered up me, my sister and all my cousins and drove from central Ky to Camden Park. All of us were so excited and when we got there the park had been rented out the entire day by a coal mining company for their workers. My Uncle asked to speak to management and explained the drive for all us kids. The park managment asked the coal mine company and they said yeah let em in. Had a great family time with smaller lines and all the fun. So cool for the park and mining company to do that
Thanks for sharing your story with us. O am glad they let your family in the park. 😎😎
I’ve been there. I’ve always loved that parks. Especially the haunted house. I could ride that ride over and over
The haunted house ride is cool.😎😎
@@jbinthehills you’re so welcome. I enjoyed it
THANK YOU ! THAT WAS FUN ! 🎠🎡🎢👋😃
You are welcome. We are glad you enjoyed the video. 😎😎
Thanks for bringing us along to Camden Park. Cool old time amusement park. Here in Central PA I lived 15 minutes from two small parks like this. They are both gone now. Williams Grove and Willow Mills were both in Mechanicsburg, PA. Our small town of West Fairview always had our yearly Town Picnic at Willow Mills. When that closed our town picnic moved to Williams Grove until that one closed. My go to snowcone flavors are grape or rootbeer. Take care.
Rootbeer Snowcones are amazing. I also miss some old parks that closed but going here brought back memories of them. Glad you enjoyed it.😎😎
Thank you for showing Camden Park it had been 36 years the last time I was their. You both did a great job on showing it. I live in Kentucky. I love watching your videos.
Thanks Judy glad you enjoyed it. We wanted this video to feel like just walking around and jumping on rides with us.😎😎
That was a neat video. I love the small less crowded amusement parks. Thanks for sharing! Hope you have a great weekend and awesome summer
It is a nice smaller park. John and I both had fun. Thanks for watching. Have a good weekend. 😎😎
I love old school amusement parks so much nostalgia 😊
This is a very old school amusement park. We enjoyed it.😎😎
Oh my goodness, I love this old Amusement park. I love just about 60 miles from it.
This was our first time here. We had a great time. 😎😎
J& B that artwork will look good in your Living Room.
It probably would look good in our house at halloween time. The painting on the haunted house was so detailed.😎😎
being that old is cool, it's funny how we can miss seeing something so long when it's in our own backyard, great tip about motion sickness meds first
I know this is the only amusement park in West Virginia, and we have never been to it before until this day.🤣 John and I always take motion sickness medicine when we go to an amusement park. 😎😎
I spent many summers here, great memories
Even though it is a small park, we had a fun day. 😎😎
Never too old have fun 👍 riding rides ❤😊God bless yall 😊
That is right. We are never too old to have fun.😎😎
I was digging on that music! Thanks John and Bobby
We are glad you like the music. 😎😎
Hey guys...you are very daring riding those old rides. Looked like a fun time at the park. Stay safe. ❤❤
The sky ride made me a little nervous lol😎😎
I grew up here and have ridden on these rides (including kiddie rides) since the age of 3 the big dipper by far is the best. I like the log boat water ride. The little dipper is also nice
Hopefully, if we ever get back to this park, the big dipper will be running. Thanks for watching. 😎😎
Watching your videos makes me want to take a vacation!
It is an older park, but John and I had a fun day.😎😎
Looks like so fun rides
They do have some nice rides. They don't have any real big roller coasters, but that's okay. It was a fun day.😎😎
Great place to visit if you want to get away from all the commercialism. Just plain good old fashioned family fun. The little dipper is about my speed.
It was Bobbies speed also. Glad she rode with me.😎😎
Wow thank you for sharing that great video I enjoyed watching it being back the good remember win I was little . I cam remember go to dose Theme Parks and all of the rides and playing all of the games The. From Tulsa Oklahoma ❤❤
Even though this park did not have any thrill coasters we had a good day.😎😎
This brings back memories. It’s smaller than I remember…as most things are when we grow up. I was raised in Dunbar & remember getting in sooo much trouble for skipping school & spending the day here.
I am glad this brought back good memories. Thanks for watching and commenting. 😎😎
Man that haunted house really takes me back to my childhood. Love that frigging haunted house. May not be the best but its what i remember from my youth so its fantastic lol
We liked the artwork on the outside of the Haunted House. It was a neat retro ride.😎😎
I used to go here all the time when I was little! We even did school field trips at Camden Park, this was way back in the 80s LOL
It is a nice smaller park. Thanks for watching and commenting. 😎😎
Really enjoyed your video! Thank you for taking me along with you! Now, you're making me hungry again, 😂! I love the scrambler and would love to buy one if I ever win the lottery.
The scrambler is getting almost to much for me anymore with the dizziness. 😎😎
I visited Camden Park in 1964 while visiting my my family in West Virginia. That big roller coaster scared me so much, but I was only 10 lol
John was disappointed the big coaster was not running that they. But they were doing repairs to it.😎😎
Thank you for sharing
You are welcome.😎😎
Truly one a kind place! Great video
John and I had so much fun even though it was a smaller park. Thanks for watching. 😎😎
@@jbinthehills did you see the indian mound inside the park?
@knotNyourHead No, we did not see the mound.😎😎
I was born and raised in Huntington West Virginia. Went to Camden Park every year!
I was born and raised in West Virginia, and this is the first time I have ever been to this park. John and I had a fun time. 😎😎
Not that I am 102 but I remember some of those rides. Brought back memories.
Brought back alot for us also.😎😎
I LOVE CAMDEN PARK! I come every year
I’ll ride almost every ride, some of the random newer ones that come in and out I pass on though.
John and I had a fun time. We appreciate you watching and commenting. 😎😎
These rides and especially the haunted house, reminds me of the rides we went on as kids in the 1960s, when we would go on the boardwalk down the shore at Wildwood New Jersey. 👍🏻👍🏻🌹
You are right about the haunted house. You usually see these on the boardwalks.😎😎
We had an old time park like this in Youngstown, Ohio, built in 1899. Idora Park. So many childhood and teenage years memories there! This vlog brought it all back. Idora is lost to us forever, it burned down. 😢
So sorry to here that. I grew up at Cedar Point so I'm lucky it's still there. 😎😎
Wow what a fun day great video Thanks for sharing brought back some good memories for me Keep on keeping on 😊🇨🇦😎🌟🍍🌞
You are welcome. So glad it brought back good memories for you. Thanks for watching. 😎😎
Wow! Thank you so much for this video of Camden Park. It brings back so many great memories from my childhood when I lived in Cedar Grove, WV. I could not wait to go there during summer break. You all do such a great job and are such a blessing to so many. God bless you both. 🙂
Thank you for the kind words Melissa we are so glad you enjoyed it.😎😎
Thanks for a great video, it brought back memories of the amusement parks from my childhood.
We are glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching. 😎😎
Huntington is my hometown, and I went to Camden Park MANY times as a kid. This video is very nostalgic for me.
The corn dogs used to be called Pronto pups. They had more of a pankcake like batter than a cornbread batter. I always thought they were much better tasting than regular corn dogs. I think that the people who told you that, may have been remembering the pronto pups from the old days. Actual corn dogs are all the same, basically. There is nothing unique or special about them, no matter where you get them.
This was our first time here. We had a fun day. Thanks for watching and commenting. 😎😎
@@jbinthehills I'm glad you had fun there. I remember when I was a kid, they used to shoot off fireworks at Camden Park twice a year. I still lived in the west end then. We moved to the south side the summer before I started 3rd grade. That part of the west end, where I lived was close to Westmoreland, so I lived close enough to be able to see the fireworks for free. We would just climb up to the top of the floodwaters and watch them there. That part of the floodwall was grassy which made it even nicer. It was so much fun. Camden Park also used to have a skating rink. I don't know if the skating rink is still there or not.
Hi guys how do you spell fun.... J&B 😂😂 great review of Camden Park. Love rides too. Have a awesome day!!😎😎🎢🎢
Thank you. John and I had a fun time. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. 😎😎
@@jbinthehills yes I sure did. I always enjoy all your reviews rock on guys. 😎😎
Love seeing old amusement parks! They just don’t make them like this anymore. Thanks for bringing this to us. Great job filming this!
Thanks for coming along with us. The haunted house was cool. 😎😎
What fun!!! That place sure brings back memories of my childhood stompin grounds....Indiana Beach. (1926)
My favorite ride was always the 💀 Haunted House 👻. I could ride it dozens of times, it was a drive thru one too. :) Near the end was the front of a big semi truck that was on a small set of tracks that looked like it was gonna hit you! I would love to ride it again!
I am a bit older than you guys so I think I better hang up my amusement park ridin shoes ;). It just hits different now. LOL
It's hard for me now I'm 58 so I'm worn out after these rides. Especially the whip. Love the old school Haunted Houses. Thanks for the comment.😎😎
I grew up going there usually once a summer. Generally speaking, corn dogs are dipped in a corn meal batter and pronto pups are dipped in a pancake type batter.
We appreciate you watching and commenting. Thanks for the information. 😎😎
I thought about suggesting you guys do a video here not long ago, lol. Now you posted one, that's awesome! We go here every summer and we always love it! No big lines is the best part.
That is a benefit you can ride all you want here with no wait. Glad you enjoy it😎😎
Thanks for taking the time to make this. Am living in Huntington and wondered what prices are for everything, and your informatve video is a bg help. And yes, I had fun.
You are welcome. We are glad our videos are helpful. We appreciate you watching. 😎😎
I love camden park. Fun rides like a carnival cheap food. Clean bathrooms. Pic nic area. And you can take in coolers and not walk mile to get them.
It is an older park. But we had a good time. We appreciate you watching and commenting. 😎😎
Thanks for the rides! I remember a lot of those from the 50's and 60's here in SoCal. I did have to look away when you were on the spinning rides, makes me dizzy. LOL I miss the spinning room where the floor drops down and you are stuck to the back of the wall because of the centrifugal force. Last time (in the 60's) when I was on one, I had thongs on and one dropped off and down and I never saw it again!
I remember that ride well. I used to try to get sideways on that when you got stuck to the wall lol. I would last on that ride today for 20 seconds. Thanks for the cool story comment and watching😎😎
I’m from WV and haven’t been here for years a lot is still the same but many rides are different and gone it’s great to see the carousel and water log ride and the train is still there the rain used to go all around the through the middle of the park sad to see that’s changed but good to see it’s still there ❤ makes me want to go back as an adult lol so glad you had fun thanks for sharing with us 😁
This was our first time here. We did have a fun time. We appreciate you watching and commenting. 😎😎
In my youth this was once every two weeks or so. I'm from Cross Lanes WV which is about 1 hour and 20 minutes then. Now it's only about one hour since they built better roads. Brings a lot of memories. Haven't been there in a long time. They were shut down for years not sure how long. To us it was the best thing around. Thanks for the memory land. It's crazy how it looks familiar and still remember where the rides were. 😊
We are glad this brought back good memories for you. We had a fun time. Thanks for watching. 😎😎
Haven't been there since 1980 WOW ❤

Had fun with you today. Wish I had a corn dog. Yummy. Thanks for the tour you guys are the best.🥰🥰🥰
We are glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching 😎😎
We had a theme park like this in Wichita, Kansas, called Joyland. I was under 10 when it closed and hardly remember it, but The Wacky Shack was just like Camden Park’s Haunted House. Thanks for the tour of a similar spot that’s still up and running!
This is an old school park. This was our first time visiting here. John and I both like the haunted house ride. We appreciate you watching and commenting. 😎😎
I live in Boyd county KY and I went here quit often as a kid in the 60s. Later in life I took my daughter then my grandkids and next year I'm going to take my great granddaughter.✌️
It is a nice retro park. Thanks for watching and commenting. 😎😎
Very cool Camden Park review
It is a cool older park.😎😎
My favorite snowcone flavors are grape or rootbeer. We had a snowcone machine like that we would rent for our combined Fire Dept , Fire Police and Ambulance Carnival we ran Tue. thru Sat. in June for like 12 years until Covid hit. That ruined our carnival.
Williams Grove Amusement Park in Mechanicsburg, PA had a kiddie boat ride on the actual lake in the park. Kinney Shoes Corp. Office yearly company picnic was at Willians Grove. The park is long gone. Right now there is an ongoing fund raising effort to raise funds to remove the Carousel House from the park to the Antique Iron Horse grounds to restore it to make it a working Carousel again. How cool would that be. Great older park.
They would be awesome if they could restore the carousel. We appreciate you watching and commenting. 😎😎
That music took me way back. Thanks for sharing your trip.
You are welcome. We appreciate you watching. 😎😎
I loved it all
We had a fun time. 😎😎

We are glad you liked the video. 😎😎
Glad you enjoyed it.😎😎
My Husbands Grandparents worked at that park in the 50's 60's.
His grandfather worked the roller coaster and his grandmother worked the snowcones and other stands.
He told many stories of growing up in Camden Park. I always felt klike i was there when he would tell the stories.
I bet he had some good stories. 😎😎
Great amusement park. Fun day. Thank you for the video.
You are so welcome.😎😎
That’s my second favorite ride there
Thanks for watching. 😎😎
Whoa! That was fun! Thank you for taking me along with you.
Thanks for watching. John and I had a fun day.😎😎
I wish you wouldn't have fast forwarded the sky ride. Its a marvel that the thing even still runs. The rusted out towers and all the corrosion and rust on the wheels up top, the way it sounds and bounces around. This thing is the scariest ride I have ever been on, and I rode Fury 325 that day before coming there. None of the coasters were open, and I just took the place for what it was. The haunted house is cool and I really appreciate the cool art on and in it. Flying Scooters are always fun and its nice to see an old whip.
The sky ride is pretty scary. The painting on the Haunted House was cool. Thanks for watching and commenting. 😎😎
