  • Whip at Kennywood in West Mifflin, PA.
The park’s first Whip ride was a W.F. Mangel 12-car version built in 1919. It was then replaced in 1926 by the current 16-car whip ride. The cars are pulled by a cable in an oval-shaped course and whip in a fast motion on both ends. This particular ride and its pavilion were once located near where the Pippin roller coaster operated but later moved in 1968 closer to the park’s lagoon. The ride moved yet again inside of the Lost Kennywood expansion in 1995. NAPHA recognizes Kennywood for continuing to operate the Whip, the park’s oldest surviving flat ride virtually unchanged since its opening.

Super classic ride, three which are in Pennsylvania (Knoebels , Dorney Park, Kennywood).

I love Whips! Kennywood's might be my favorite but I've also ridden Knoebels, Dorney, Rye Playland, Camden, and Hershey's.
Looking forward to Eldridge Park reopening one someday (even if it is a bit of a hike).
Their inspired rides Mater's Junkyard Jamboree at DCA and Alient Swirling Saucers at WDW are also great fun!
