With a November warm spell, Erin and I cancel our hot tenting plans and squeeze in one last canoe trip for the season with some low volume bump-and-grind whitewater action. I try out the new 360 camera (GoPro Max) Erin gave me, Erin plays with the new axe, and we take in a beautiful weekend on the upper Black River capped off with brook trout and a sunrise to remember.

So nice to see that two folks have the same passion and work together so well . So in sync with all . At least it sure seems so . Trusting each other is important. Different interests is OK too don't get me wrong. All really good.
The choice of music for the drone footage is very fitting 👌
I love when the "Waltz of the flowers" begins to play because then I know we're going airborne. Another great video.
Hahah seems to be a trend. Thanks FBK!
The drone footage with the fog is wicked cool It's like your way to hogwart
Cool! Love the 360 in the rapids... drone footage was sublime. Great chilly trip, thanks for sharing.
Thanks Jason! Took some liberties editing the 360 just this one time heheh
Erin the ice breaker... What a great run of river..
That drone footage was incredible. Thanks for making me not think about work for a little bit! Cheers to a late snowfall!!
Glad to help Stephen 😉 Enjoyed it on this outing but now eagerly awaiting a good freeze!
That 360 distortion requires a gummy to fully appreciate, lol
😆😆
That is bizarre seeing the 360 view going into a rapid. Looks like he's looking in completely the wrong direction.
This is a great whitewater run each time I watch this video. 😇
It’s funny Erin never complains about the cold weather. She’s a trooper and never complains.🤔 light weight wanders are really nice early and late season canoe trips. That’s Money well spent. Thanks guys. 🇨🇦👍
Canoe ballet and Tchaikovsky! Great video.
Thanks again for sharing your trip with us
Hi Jon and Erin ! Excellent alloy, thanks for the movies. You are being watched in Russia.
Love the net jokes. Photography and music was perfect and you two together makes me smile. Thanks!
😜 Thanks Adam!
Thanks for the great video once again, Jon and Erin! That cold water is nothing to joke about, that's for sure. It'll cramp your muscles and draw you down to Davy Jones' locker. Glad you guys didn't flip the canoe. Take care and keep strong and healthy!
So true, just the way it makes one's feet/ankles feel within seconds is a testament to what effect it has on the body when immersed. Thanks Ray!
It is so realistic and touching to see you riding a boat along the valley. I enjoy it.Always be healthy.
♡♡♡
❤❤
Erin does a nice job at the bow!
Great looking adventure. some of those 360 shorts are pretty freaky... now onto the winter camping videos...
Crazy what cameras can do these days! Just need to see some -20s in the forecast...been so damn mild
Dramatic stuff , your work has developed amazingly over the life of this channel, I really love it and enjoy both of your excellent company. Thank you so much for doing what you do.
Much appreciated GM!!
Dude that drone footage is amazing!
Whoa, that 360 scrambled my brain for a moment. Not that it takes much, but still...
You two were working together so well navigating the white water! I love to see videos from the stern paddler's perspective, and watching how the canoe reacts to each draw/cross-draw from the bow paddler. It's very informative and helpful as I'm learning the basics of whitewater. The wading sucks but after all Erin is the reigning ice queen! Absolute money drone footage, amazing beauty! Thanks for taking us along on the last paddling trip of 2020 Jon and Erin, cheers!
Thanks a lot Pete! Long may she reign 👸
Thanks for picking up that unsightly dead boat
The two of you are the best team ever. ❤ The new net is a real beauty, too. That new GoPro is pretty wild! Thanks for taking us along. Be well!
Thanks April!! Pretty crazy what cameras can do these days...
in all the years of camping outdoors as a kid... i don't remember ever splitting wood for a campfire. i remember making a fire ring and clearing the surrounding area but we always just laid logs across the fire, burned them through the center and kept feeding them end for end until they were gone. a lot less chance of axe-idents if you axe me lol!
Excellent late season trip!!
Thanks for clearing out other losers’ garbage. I have faith in humanity with you two doing your bit. Bloody cold paddling though...
Thanks NJB :) Not much you can do about the losers except try to undo their selfishness😣
That drone though the low ceiling was magical... a true bucket shot. I'm part of the KDV club and it looks like the 3rd net of season will be make it to 2021.
Don't count your chickens before they hatch 😝
A bit of local pride seeing that Nova Craft canoe. The factory is also within 2 blocks of 2 breweries, my fav being Andersons, if you get that up there.
Just another beautiful trip. Thank you.
Frankly, I don't know the first thing about paddling.....I'm just so honored to be along for the ride in your vids. OHS (Oh holy shit) LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE the new 360 GO PRO. TY Erin!
Hahaha thanks Scotty! She's one hell of a gift giver :)
Perfect choice of music for the drone footage
Of all the youtubers doing outdoorsy stuff, your aerial shots are by far the best I've seen. This was the first of your videos I've watched and it certainly won't be the last.
Much appreciated Padraic!
Great video guys! The 360 cam footage had me checking my drink for "other ingredients" at times. The drone footage was spectacular and so was the rubber dingy....I am surprised there were no bud lite or natural ice cans nearby.
thank you for this last great video, nice trip and couple. Bravo for sharing your passion
Thank you Claire!
That was a beautiful male brookie, full spawning colors and a nice kype.
Again! Another wonderful adventure! Love how you two work so well as a team! You are a special couple...and an inspiration to get back to nature and who we are meant to be!
fantastic trip ----- like your new camera
great music with drone shots!!!!
FYI: Erin has an Insta account for Billy Bellows @OriginalBillyBellows. And if anyone would like a Billy Bellows, they're $20 each which includes shipping to any typical place in Canada and the US. They're handmade by Erin's dad in Thunder Bay, Canada. Erin made a website to order :)

@@april906outdoors3 ❤️❤️
Hey Jon and Erin , very nice ! The drone shots were amazing , the new camera is neat to , hard to look at though when you're hung over lol . Have a great weekend !
LOL thanks Ryan!
everything about this video is so awesome! the wilderness, the teamwork, the production... 10/10
Thanks OB!!
Kind of freaky but cool at the same time seeing you’s paddle in the top of trees and clouds with that new camera. What is it with you two canoeing in ice all the time. Lol. Pretty amazing footage and great paddling. Thanks for this last canoe video. We just put our kayaks away for season. Always a sad day. We also took advantage of that warm spell and went hiking up to Algonquin and Arrowhead. Fells so good to be outdooors.😘
Thanks Trisha! Sad day...but we just got out for a perfect weekend of winter camping...that helps a lot :)
That camera proves that the world is round.... how are you "bending" the canoe around those boulders ... Wow , that's some new tech..
..Haha. ... the net comment from Erin made me grin....it's kinda got to be a "thing" now.....all in good fun...
..near the end looked like you were paddling in a barrel.....
.. Great outing ..Thanks for Sharing ,,
..... Stay Safe and God Bless .....
Hahah it's pretty wild. Especially to think that some of us grew up before cameras were even digital... Thanks RW!
Lol at Erin's face @20:39 'I got a new toy'
😁
You, Joe Robinet and Steve Wallis have all posted videos tonight. This is a great night!
Time to hunker down and enjoy lol
And enjoy a step 2!
Coincidence.. Hmmm
Your vids are awesome.... I love your song choices as well. Good job!
Thanks Scotty!
Oh man, I subscribed lastnight and watched a few videos, great content. Tonight I started watching this video and got a little anxious with the canoe footage in the rapids at the beginning.
I have some real bad anxiety with canoes in general. I love the thought of fishing from them in a calm, creek or lake... but any water disturbance and I get very uneasy in them... haha.
But I kept watching and I'm glad I did... you're doing the tings I wish I had time to do.
Cheers from Manitoba!
Wow, great teamwork you guys...a pleasure to watch!
Thanks Nancy!
Water levels have been low here, all year long. Ugh! I'm paddleboarding most of the time, but I can run some of these low rivers like a BOSS! ;) OH, SNAP!! I bet that Billy thing is a game changer!! I thought I had a secret, with my fire, with some half of an old TV antenna, I bought on Amazon! LOL. I need a BB!
Hahah! I think I've seen the one you're talking about. Erin made a website if you're in need :)
BillyBellows.com
Dude this new camera is SICK! I'm only 3 minutes into watching and I just HAD to pause it and comment. Also totally high-key excited to see both of you in the boat this time! The two of you make such a wholesome team! ❤️
Hahah thanks oP!!!
When you start to hesitate between a canoe or a pair of skates I think it's time to close the season 🤔 . About the 360 Gopro , my mind is not ready for this dimension yet, I get dizzy 🤤 . Thank's for sharing , you'r my favorite couple on RUclips
Hahah good policy. Had to take some liberties with editing the 360 this time 😅 Thanks Sylvain!!
Very cool camera. Thanks for sharing your trip.
Thanks for another great video. I have enjoyed your progression with video craftsmanship while retaining the essential elements of your content, which are your appreciation of quietude and thoughtful narrative. Cheers and happy holidays from Rochester, New York.
Greatly appreciate that Mark :) Happy Holidays over there!
6:25 "we're almost there..." gotta love the indomitable spirit of a northern girl...
That camera is amazing !
Great video ,been watching them all summer . Makes me miss my cabin , hope the restrictions are lifted soon.
You should reupload this as a true 360 video so those of us with VR headsets can go along on the trip with you
Thanks for the late season video! Awesome photography as always! Hopefully there is enough to rewatch to get through the long winter, dreaming of springtime.
Thanks Deb! Long way to go until spring 😞
Ooh! You guys very strong! Winter time more risks? Stay safe and warm 🥵❣️.
Love the drone footage, seeing the fog lift from above was a cool perspective. I guess hip waders are next on to get list 😆
Thanks for sharing ✌️
Hip waders are good until you go in over your waist or dump 😝 Thanks Marc :)
Love the videos of doing the rapids... something I want to play with more. It helps to watch others, I know different to be doing it but it helps to learn what to look for.
Thanks Sally, watching others really helped me build confidence before I went out too. Going out with someone experienced is ideal though
360 footage = trippy.
Just bending the spacetime continuum, NBD!
Great job on the video. What a fall we are enjoying in Northwerstern Ontario. I am a sand and gravel producer in The Lake of the Woods area and one of my permits has a view of Forgotten Lake. Very scenic view of Forgotten every time I go to work. And awesome Lager. Keep up the nice work
Thanks Luke! It's a great beer...didn't think I'd like it but the blueberry is subtle. Plus I like a strong beer :) That's cool to hear about the lake too...figured it was just a name
This was awesome! I loved the white water footage. It made me feel like I was in the canoe. The drone footage and music selection was the best I’ve seen. Thank you.
Thanks so much Mary!
Egg sandwich = KDV ;-) I love that term and may have to use it on occasion Jon! I feel the same way about french fries, right?! Can't imagine how cold your feet and lower legs must have been on this one. Erin had the right idea for sure with the gators. Beautiful trip, love the Tchaikovsky, and thanks for bringing me along 🙂
Hahah fries are all about the ketchup! Thanks as always Barret!
She’s a keeper, and I don’t mean the fish! That 360deg sometimes made me feel like I had too much bourbon!
😆
Pretty rare to see that kind of weather in Ontario in November. Enjoy it.
That was amazing ! I was cold just watching you both 😊😊. Thank you 😁
Thanks Lynn!!
The camera is insanely cool...but watching is making my teeth chatter!!!
Loved this video, thank you both again for making our Sunday evening.
Greetings from the Netherlands 👋🏻
Thanks as always B&C! 👋
Enjoyed the video alot. Awesome content.
U two work well together!
Your ice breaker canoe! Love the rapids running, great team work!! How high can your drone fly, the images were brilliant?!
Thank you! It goes up to 500m but I think the legal limit is 120m
Tks for the last canoe' trip this year!
That is a nice camera. It was brutal for the feet on this one for you both. You might have to get a pair of gators too. I know Erin’s got wet, but maybe two pairs to switch out might be worth the extra weight. Beautiful as usual with the scenery. So amazing. Thanks and see you on the next one.
Hahah definitely worth the weight, that cold was painful. Thanks Alice!!
On the edge of my seat for this one. 😊
Dude. Amazing drone footage
Thanks RSO :) Funny thing is we couldn't even see that beauty without it. We were in the fog. But I could tell from the light there was something going on up above the fog
@@LostLakes
It’s magical, esp with waltz of the flowers in the background.
The whole trip looked exciting and dangerous as times as well. Looked very cold out there, I bet a hot Tim Hortons coffee would of been great waking up in the morning. Great time to end the season. Would of liked to see a bit more fishing, but it was enjoyable to watch. 👍 from the North.
Adrian
Adrian is this where you were hiding today while I was freezing my butt off? On RUclips with your warm coffee? haha!
@@ActuallyAndrewFishing
Hmm. Perhaps. 🤣
Thanks Adrian! No other fish unfortunately, so the fishing footage would've just been casting footage lol
Another great video, with new and improved Drone and Go-Pro footage! I was cold watching you guys work in ice water while sitting next to a fire in the fireplace. If I may, you guys are a badass adventure couple! Cheers!
Hahah you MAY! Thanks Stephen!
Great video guys
Great video! Cold!
Thanks MWJC!
Erin is the perfect canoeing partner for you. You are the perfect canoeing partner for her. Perfect match made in Tinder!! I'd say she is a keeper as are you.
Great camera work.. 360 awesome
Thanks Diane!
Nice control in the white water. That was some awful cold water you guys were traversing.
Thanks Fred :) Might be time to invest in dry suits...
loved it . keep them coming
Conoefusious say: "Lining without rope....a definite nope!" Nice Vid, it was over 20 c down here in the Banana Belt (TO)!
Hahah I will if I can walk along a good shore for a while, but if I'm in the river with the boat, I much prefer to hold onto the canoe for balance. I dunno how anyone could keep their balance standing in that current on slippery rocks. Mild start to winter...I want the -20s so stuff gets good and frozen!
@@LostLakes You could hold the rope and the canoe at the same time. If you slip into a deep spot you might be very cold while watching the chariot going solo.
@@shinysidedown9090 hahah true, but yet to escape my grasp
Hey guys again no sauer kraut with the brats or dogs. Going to have to try it. Kraut mixed up with a little brown sugar and bacon, mmmm. You could premix prior to setting out. Again nice drone footage, nice watching as I’m sitting next to my warm fire on Sunday morning. Till next time, stay safe!
Thanks John!
I disagree with your bite placement at 29:03 John. Shouda went more left! Lol great vid.
Great teamwork!!!
🧡🧡
Cool, your canoe can bend around corners.
😂
The spacetime continuum is no match our camera
Ya'll really love the nutcracker suite, don't ya?
Oh yeaa
amazing video
Glad to see that you Glad to see that you got it 1 more time. That was a nice weekend to finish the year. I did the shawanaga river. 15 degrees for the weekend never been out so late.
Crazy! Nice that it aligned with a weekend so us 9-5ers could enjoy it too
"We got Scotch?" asks Erin. Now that's a lady who's got her priorities right, haha
I liked drone'movie with the song ! Very nice!
Thanks CJ! :)
Two thumbs up !!
Love those fall trips btw saw an article today the world's oldest jack pine was identified in the bwca near Quetico
Awesome! Bet it's gnarly looking
that same mild spell in NE ont got up over 15 C on 4 or 5 consecutive days. some die hards saw the window coming and got out canoeing, something that in november is quite unusual. maybe balancing off the cold, rainy, windy sept and oct.
Yeah the weather's been all over the place this fall. I guess that's somewhat expected, but that warmth was pretty crazy
Doesn’t it break your heart to think about this being your last canoe of the year. 😢 it does mine. 🇨🇦👍
Every year 😞
