That's an Aria Pro 2 black and white. Vivian Campbell had the same guitar and used it in the Dio Philadelphia tour for a few songs. The reason I know is because I have that guitar still and bought it back in 85 or 86 or somewhere around there
0:55 Jason channeling Steve Harris with putting his leg up on the monitor and singing along word for word with the singer on the lyrics that he wrote!! Bad ass!!! Thanks for posting this metal gem!!
These guys were my first concert shortly after Jason left. It was flots with megadeth at city gardens in n.j and the every member of flots came out with a master of puppets t shirt on. Blew megadeth away.
old maiden meets old metallica , the cool thing is that jazun was writing most part of the music and the lyrics as well , handling all the correspondance and so on , a hard working man really !!!
Newsted wrote most of the songs on Doomsday and No Place and those are two of the all time great metal CD's. If given the opportunity he could have done the same for Metallica. Amazing song writer.
I was extremely lucky to have seen Cliff Burton live with Metallica and as much of a loss as he was I was thrilled when they picked up Jason Newsted. I think he was the only bassist that could have replaced Burton.
Saw these guys in 1987 when I was in college at the Univ. of Maryland at a bar just off campus. For days and days after the show the one guy from my dorm hall I went with...ALL we could talk about was Michael Gilbert and how he headbanged...THE. ENTIRE. SHOW. It was truly something to behold!
Just found this video! Killer. I bought Doomsday for the Deceiver back in 1986 and still listen to it today. On rotation with Attacker and Trouble (Psalm 9). Great mid-80's metal!!!! Thanks to the poster!
OMFG , Thanks Joel ! I cannot get over how tight these guys were ! One of the best bands ever ! AKA Eric's vocals, the Bass, the leads, the thrash !!!!!!!!!! At 52 , I relive playing along to this on guitar at 19 all over again as I here it !!!!!

I saw the first 3 or 4 bands but then I had to leave early. I never got to see them with Jason. By the time I finally saw them (on halloween ‘87 at a bar in Mesa, AZ called Prisms), Jason had already joined Metallica, and the rest was history. I wish he had stayed in Flotsam, although I’m sure he’s glad he left for Metallica.
