These guys were well known due to Jason Newstead. Nowhere near the most underrated. How do you people come up with this bs always amazes me. There's way more underrated bands than Flotsam
such a huge under rated band period.....and to have a name flotsam and jetsam made them that much badder.thank you guys for still kicking ass to this day \m/
It's weird how F&J were the first to do the gnarly guitar tone and the the Swedish death metal scene adopted it. Now F&J stray from it and it's back en vouge again. Boss even re-released the HM-2 pedal from the late 80's.
Along with that drumming sound.. it's one of my favorite thrash sounds/album ever; a classic of the late eighties/first nineties! Horrorscope maybe could be the second in that kind of list..
@@thelastwildcolonialboy3667 Quite the opposite. A dimed out Rat pedal on one guitar and a DOD American Metal with the mids dimed out on the other guitar.
Yup. It's amazing how much 80's and 90's metal still speaks to the ills of society. Listening to "Hook in Mouth" is like listening to Dave talk about cancel culture...Birthed by the bitches of the PMRC.
When I opened for them back in 2018 in Detroit I talked with him after our set, he sounded like your typical middle aged man who smoked too much. When he hit that stage, he sounded just like the albums man. He blew me and my bandmate away
....."and they'll pray...." *At 37 years of age, I just wish that I can someday have the same feeling I had the first time I saw/heard this song....Haven't been in awe of a freshly cut metal tune in quite a while. 10,000 years by High On Fire, maybe....
The most FAVORED song of mine that Flotsam n Jetsom created. As a whole. Erik's highest notes, I simply can not perform. I do, on occasion, but not consistently and strongly. Although I aspired, at one time, too. This entire song composition I love. Instrumental, vocal, beat, variations there of...man, I just fkn luv it 💖
I'm 39. And in the 80s my aunt Debbie who was a Metalhead would let me listen to so much metal when I was just a little little kid and up until this point pretty much all I listen to but I have never heard these guys this is a hidden gem!!!!!!😁 where are they now?
there have been line up changes but Eric AK still sings for the band. their first 3 albums are sublime. Doomsday for the Deceiver, No Place for Disgrace, October Thorns are just some of the great tracks from these albums. they are also a good band to see live. and they are still producing albums.
I was serving in the Marines when this came out. Listening to it in my Walkman as I trained to wage WAR. Guarding nuclear weapons and invading countries (read the profile pic). did all of this in 1990. It was one hell of a year in my life, while jamming to Flotsom&Jetsom.
Hey man I think it’s sone kind of licensing rights and the fact that the band doesn’t own the rights to the music or something like that. I think the band is working on the issue .
we had a flood i remember it never got to our house but was so close i remember staying home from school freaking out wondering if we had to go to the shelter. i was 15yrs old. this was playing all night in my headphones and walkman while playing my atari 800xl computer. ready to move it at a moments notice. my parents worried sister crying scared. very important album for me.
2023 and am still remembering putting this casette tape into my boombox. Songs like this make you realize we can all get through this crap that's going on, and it tells a storry nothing in today's 'music comes close to telling a story. anyway (Sorry I don't talk much, so when i do i just keep talking,)it was a compilation tape of all the good bands. I wore my Fulton shirt with pride..was a huge sprain since there first album..I use to work a few guys that grew up with these guys..they use to throw some awesome parties out in the desert is guess.
It's 2024 and they are still the most underrated thrash metal band ever!
This song and album helped get me through my Desert Strom deployment. Listening to them on my walkman in my Abrams tank when we had downtime.
I like tacos
Did you find wmd

Holy shit man!!! Me also!! Only i wuznt in an Abrams, thanks for your service!!

most underrated US thrash band of 80s
These guys were well known due to Jason Newstead. Nowhere near the most underrated. How do you people come up with this bs always amazes me. There's way more underrated bands than Flotsam
This was my skateboard music when i was 16...wow, 30 years ago!
Most unique voice of metal for the 80’s
forgot about midnight from crimson glory

O.I. am evil Totally agree. One of the best metal acts of all time. Glad they are still kicking arse
The masses need to suffer \m/
100% agree. Flotz til death 🤘

I've been listening since 1993. Favorite Metal Band of all time!
This was said to be the greatest. I love it
Flotsam till death
that guitar tone!
"It's the 80s...we need more mid scoop"
It's weird how F&J were the first to do the gnarly guitar tone and the the Swedish death metal scene adopted it. Now F&J stray from it and it's back en vouge again. Boss even re-released the HM-2 pedal from the late 80's.
Quite possibly the coolest rhythm guitar tone....EVER.🤘

The ultimate 80s mid scoop metal tone

Reminds me a lot of later D.R.I. like on Acid Rain or Syringes In the Sandbox.
the best fuckin flotsam and jetsem song ever
god damn the best ,still listening 2017 and going...

"All you know, and all you feel, is all there is, and all that's real"

So muuch more than people realize. Be Blessed my friend.
So smooth yet heavy. Such a badass track.
Classic. One of my all time favourite albums/songs 🤘.
Que riff da porra!! Ótimo som! Banda excelente. Natal. RN. Brasil!
Haven't heard F&J since my 20's.
Now Approaching 50.
(Damn, that's a long time.)
Thanks for the Memory. 🤘
Such great vocals.....AK definitely put them over the top.
I remember this song when i was young ... that was fantastic times, thrash ruled
They are so amazing! Fan since the 80s. That stuff goes right into my exploding head!! Awesome!!!! Flotsam forever!!! 💥💥💥🤘😍🤘
I play this song whenever telling a drummer what I want his snare to sound like.
dude fuck yea Kelly Smith rules!!
definitely one of the most underrated metal acts!!! love them still!!!
I like the vocals..very good.
John Alberti Very much underrated singer.
i am 44 and iam raised with that great music. Flotsam and Jetsam was the school of our era for new performers
2018 and still one of my favorite records 👊🤘
natron sinister 1 I still have it on vinyl🤟🏼
@@jarrod9052 nice! Classic record still holds up to this day🤘
Their And Justice For All...probably better.
This song was prophetic.
2024 n still loving it
The vocals, man!
yep! kinda "heavy thrash" counter that gutural - death like thrash metal inspired n Hetfiiedls' most aggresive voice from early 80's
One of my fave F&J songs for sure!
Once upon a time members of bands headbang all together.
this is such a great song & band!
Eric’s definitely one of the best metal vocalists of all time.
Ditto that. He can actually sing unlike a lot of metal bands out there.
When I opened for them back in 2018 in Detroit I talked with him after our set, he sounded like your typical middle aged man who smoked too much. When he hit that stage, he sounded just like the albums man. He blew me and my bandmate away
No, he's not.
He was the bands real weakness. Prong and Sacred Reich had the same problem. Cool riffs and songs but zero backbone in the vocals.
Joey Belladona
Bought it as soon as I heard it after it’s release & listened over & over “ enough said”.
....."and they'll pray...."

Here in 2020 listening to this on YT, because "When the Storm Comes Down" is like the only F&J album not on any music streaming services. Why is that?
