When this came out I was 16 and it didn't sink in fully. 44 years old now and after Divorce, Blood Infection, my son's Mother passing away and now my Dad with stage 4 Cancer it's a masterpiece of pushing through. Suffering builds character and perception saves life's. Your time is God's gift, seize the day.

You put a gun to my head
The storm's too deep outlook dead
    Handing down that anger
    Nothing good ever lasts
    Moody violence
Now a fool in my eyes
What's the answer, I'll search till I die
Try a little harder I hear myself say
Make it last before it's taken away
    Wading through the darkness
My head held in my hands
    Wading through the darkness
    Forced to forget this anguish
I'm half of what I used to be
    Erase my memory
    Now gone forever goodbye
But I know my memories won't die
    Wading through the darkness
My head held in my hands
    Wading through the darkness
Dead inside with a heart that bleeds
    Relax my tension needs
    Tightness suffocates
    Too dense to focus
I'll see it through the day
    No longer churning inside
    Rotted memories inhabit my mind
    My rage destroys the calm
    Destroys the calm
    Wading through the darkness
My head held in my hands
    Wading through the darkness

Susan Wright Indeed! Had this on cassette back in the day. Cuatro was a great "metal" album, that approached the Metallica formula of payin' your dues live and recording great, rocking shit! Loved the guitar work on this album. Was a must-have for all my metal-head buddies. Now... if I could just grow my hair back out. Lol!

Cuatro was a more 'mature' sound for them, and you could tell it was a little inspired by the grunge movement (with Chris Cornell even having a writing credit on the album). I wonder if some metal fans snub it a bit for that reason. With that said, it still proudly wore its metal roots on its sleeve. I think Secret Square is one of the best metal tracks they've ever done.

So good. I remember being happy that Flotsam was getting air play with WTTD and Swatting At Flies. It was short lived. I remember it was the only reason I could bring myself to like this song at the time. I mean, I knew it was good, better than other radio mainstream music. But it was hard to consolidate Flotsam to this slow moving piece. Still I bought the cassette and played it on my walkman for months straight, never skipping a song. But today, a little older I guess and more seasoned. It seems ten times the masterpiece as it was to my reality back then. Almost tear up with the video accompaniment. Maybe, maybe it was too close to the chest for me at the time. Couldn't admit I related. I built my own box I guess.

This is truly the best song of Flotsom and Jetsam. Why can't music sound like this still. It makes me mad that Rap has taken over. Metal all the way forever!!!!!!!!!

Y'Know, Rap is kinda "older" as this....
      en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rapping
Also, it is not pureley "black", as in ancient Scandinavia Tribes Leaders used also "Verbal duels of taunting and insulting in a rhytmic form" to conclude disagreements - kinda the Senate would do Rapbattles instead of debates.
Nevermind. Even Rap has its "goods" and "bads" - and what you hear in the Radio is shit as it is with the Rock/Metal - kinda consider Nickleback "good Rock/Metal".
Rap has a high diversity and can be combined with mostly everything as its base is just "recite Poetry" combined with more or less criticism or just plain "Partymusic".
At least I can appreciate that same ways in Metal.

Rabijeel Problem is all rap really is is lyrics and the lyrics in mainstream rap nowadays are terrible. Even the better rap artists are just talking over a computer generated beat and most popular rap songs sample old pop and rock songs. It's not even music really lol. Also sadly metal isn't even really played on the radio.
