John Bush has got to be the most underrated metal vocalist ever. His voice is the definition of rough yet melodic. Plus, it's a miracle how his voice hasn't degraded much over the years, if at all.
Viper King They were getting bigger until MTV pulled metal as a genre for a few years. I think John talked about it and other reasons why Saint never dominated the world on Eddie Trunk this year.

The whole album is amazing. Killer songs the sound is what bands want. Every song should have been released as singles. This album made people recognize that John’s voice was one of the best in industry.
Love this group since 1980doing tile work. In San Juan Capistrano and all Ortega highway band east all the way to Vista. The money stopped so did we lovvvvve. This group
Truly yes they are a great band. The radio stations wouldn't play them because they weren't playing the things that they thought was going to be selling all the albums and getting all the money. If they did the hairband/glamourband thing they would have, but they said they weren't going to do that. Armored Saint was truly a great band though.
Yeah, it's a shame for John that he didn't take up Metallica's offer to take over vocals before Ride the Lightning, otherwise he would have been in the big 4. But apparently, Armored Saint was 'doing so well' he couldn't commit.... LOL
John says it was never his destiny to be in Metallica. He stayed with Saint because they were his boyhood friends and he's a profoundly loyal guy. He only went to Anthrax after things were really falling apart in the band. Glad we have the Bushthrax recordings and now have John back in Armored Saint again. My favorite Metal singer - bar none.
@@simonelse1150 I disagree. If he had done that, Armored Saint would have been completely different, if they would exist at all. We would be missing so many great songs. I am happy things went as they did. Sure Armored Saint isn't as sucessful, but they are still one of my favorite bands. A GREAT live show.
@@aro5490 Well said. The only Anthrax I really like is with John and I have seen AS three times and will see them again in July. (2019) He is a great live performer.
I love that voice. He has the power to drive that rock right into our aura and keep it there. I love the roughness and the delivery is so good! I am truly impressed!
Saw them open for Queensryche back in 2016, and they definitely gave QR a run for their money. Nothing like two great bands holding each other accountable for a top notch performance. It was a show for the books. And in a club in East Texas with maybe 400 people, they played like it was 40,000 there.
Just saw them a couple of weeks ago opening up for Queensryche! They absolutely crushed it, blew me away!!! Was definitely a great night, Queensryche playing their EP and 1st album was killer!! Glad I didn't miss this tour!!
I always imagine this song with a steam locomotive chugging through the night in winter and it crashes and chugs on forever in a ghost world afterwards never to return to the land of the living.
I was 20yrs old when this album was released and haven't heard since back then. Now being older time to time I would try to remember the name of this band. Anyway I found it today and I can remember everyone of these songs. It's better than I remembered
Armored Saint is another talented band who deserved more recognition than they got. Dave Pritchard was and still is one of my biggest influences. Still can't believe he's gone.
I absolutely love this song! It was the first time I heard John Bush sing. This is really good!! I think his voice is really unique. I als oliked the Anthrax-albums that John sang on. Nice guy, too :-)))
In Hollywood, often times industry folk from writers to actors to execs will know about exceptional people who are up and coming before they are famous. That’s how an A-lister like Bruce Willis was in a movie like Pulp Fiction. For this band, particularly lead singer John Bush, all the thrash metal-lers knew about this band despite them not selling that many records.

great song! one of my fav from that great Album Symbol of Salvation - finally saw them live last month July 17, 2018 in Toronto for the first time. Awesome band and John Bush still sounds so good after all these years.
I remember seeing these guys w/Dave Prichard at the Troub many of times and playing through out Hollywood. They were a good band. John's a great singer.
I never heard this song before, or seen this video, i think i got this cd but happy giving it a play, I'm making a list of my favorites 1000 songs of All-time I'm going to put this in there
Because they were extremely talented. Average assholes back in the day elevated the crap to the top. Not to mention the fuck ups that ran the industry at that time.
I saw Armored Saint live in Portland Oregon twice in one day back in 2001. The first show was a small acoustic set in an old school record store; they played three songs and then visited with fans for a while. Later that evening they played a six song set opening for Lynch Mob and someone else who I can't remember. Both shows were amazing and the guys from the band were really cool.
My fave song from these guys. Johns voice always been badass and full of strength. Very underrated. Anyone else thinks he looks like Jim Morrison in this vid? LOL
