Congratulations on your finish 🎉 you will accomplish so much in your life with your cuteness and personality. Enjoyed following your journey. Wishing you all the best!
What a mix of emotions seeing the 2K milestone, excitement for that accomplishment of walking that many miles and the anticipation of the final climb that's just up the trail!
2,000 miles, and only a couple of hundred remaining. Maine is surely something special, like nowhere else. "This is the forest primeval. The murmuring pines and the hemlocks, bearded with moss, and in garments green, indistinct in the twilight, stand like Druids of eld, with voices sad and prophetic..."(Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, from 'Evangeline: A tale of Acadie'). Be well, stay safe. 🥾
Would love to hear about your gear, pack weight, sleeping in shelters do you have any trouble with mice. Did you carry a food bag, did you use bear hangs and if so how much of the trail did you hang. When you did not hang did you sleep with food Not sure if you would have time to make a video about it all seeing how your busy getting on with life 😊
I hammocked so I didn’t really sleep in shelters most of the time. I hung my food in the beginning but after that I didn’t really, I would hang it from my hammock under my tarp, no issues with mice for that reason
