Coming from 5D2 to the RP I have had surprisingly little to complain about. The RP allows for extremely fast content creation with mobile workflows, which seems to be a much overlooked point. It does excellent in the studio and works well for virtually anything except fast action. The small form factor comes with drawbacks on ergonomics and battery life. Mirrorless has its quirks, I mean who decided a default 2 second image review would work well inside a viewfinder? In sum, a very nice camera, the low price let me spend more on glass (replacing EF L with RF L is .. taxing), and it can even do a bit of video.

I have been using the rp nearly since it came out. My only complaints are that it cant shoot dark subjects against bright backgrounds. In one instance, I shot a Nigerian girls graduation session at the beach and it absolutely couldn't find her. Second complaint is that it doesn't have 120fps in any resolution. Honestly id even be cool with 720p 120 like in the original R. Other than those to things I'd never upgrade.

I just ordered an RP this week, for a little over 600€. It hasn’t arrived yet, but it should be an open box, probably brand new camera.
I don’t do video, and my main camera is an EOS R6. The lowest price I ever saw for the R8 is 1100€, so that’s pretty much twice the money. The cheapest EOS R are going for over 800€ at the end of their lives, and decent ones are between 900 and 1000€.
To be fair, my only concerns are the smaller EVF and the fact that I’ll have to get different batteries for it, but the price of the RP beats everything. I also had a 6D Mark II prior to my R6, so I already know how the sensor behaves.
If I like it, it will definitely stay. It’s cheap, lightweight, takes pictures, it’s full-frame, and uses RF lenses.

The power bank needs to support the USB-C PD ("power delivery") standard, and only works with the camera switched off. However an interesting option is to buy a dummy battery with a USB-A compatible input: this can be plugged into any high capacity power bank that provides a standard 2.5 amp output, enough to power the camera. Of course, this can get a little un-ergonomic...

I don't have much experience with video, but for informal shooting, and being careful with exposure and the right choice of Canon's "picture profile" for the color/contrast/sharpening you want, there no reason acceptable FHD video can't be prepared, it's just not a flexible solution for those who really need to create and post-process footage in a "professional" manner.
