    Hi Dr.
Can you please do an in-depth video on Toners an Essences. The difference between the two, how they are used, and their benefits. Lastly, does one need both a toner and essence in a skincare routine? Or just an essence is fine?
Please also suggest the best, affordable toners and essences to use. Ps: I have acne prone skin.

Hi Jenny! Great video!!! Can I ask because I been looking everywhere over the net and can’t find answers .. but which part of our skincare routine (cleanser>toner>serum>moisturiser) do we apply clindamycin gel and benzoyl peroxide gel?

I have been trying different toners and Essenes and serums you have recommended to get “glass/hydrated looking skin.” My problem is after I apply sunscreen and foundation, the glass look is gone. Could you please do a video on how the steps and products to use to maintain the glass or glowing skin look after SPF and foundation? I have foundation/tinted moisturizing sunscreen that are suppose to be “hydrating”/“give the skin a glow”, but the look is just not the same. Thank you.

I use LRP toleriane matte moisturizer in the morning and the regular toleriane moisturizer at night because I too prefer something thicker at night 😆 but I am acne prone so I still need something not so occlusive

Love this, thank you! How do you feel about the active ingredients that are commonly listed on the internet as ones to avoid? It's basically all of the ones in chemical sunscreen - avobenzone, octisalate, homosalate for example. I'm looking for a sunscreen that won't get all over the mat and reformer when I do pilates. I tried the mineral sunscreen from Neutrogena and it was a mess. If I can go back to chemical sunscreens and they're safe, I'd love to.

The main fear there seems to stem from a fundamental misunderstanding of both the human body and sunscreen itself (the body adsorbs both chemical and mineral filters into the bloodstream), along with the prevalent mislabeling of anything deemed "natural" as inherently better (the list of naturally occurring things that will kill you is terrifying - don't eat more than 6 or 7 Brazil nuts!). The best sunscreen is the one you like enough to use consistently. Lots of people say they prefer mineral sunscreens because chemical sunscreens sting around their eyes. For me, it's the opposite. It all comes down to the individual. I'm incredibly fair, so white casts aren't an issue for me, but will be for those with darker skin, which is a big downside to mineral. Again, preference. I like La Roche Posey and Beauty of Joseon and find them pretty good for a lot of people. I tried ISDIN once after receiving it as a gift and it's probably my favorite mineral sunscreen, but far too expensive to buy myself.

@@dr.jennyliu I have tried Cetaphil gentle cleanser but I felt like it just cleansed the top layer of my skin🥺 . So is this hydrating foaming cream cleanser same as gentle skin cleanser or effective at deep cleansing 😑? I mean is this cleanse deeply like as it's advertising 😮 or just top layer skin as Cetaphil normal gentle skin cleanser ?

TY! The LRP Melt-In stings. How do you feel about the LRP Kids (from overseas. I have yet to find a U.S. sunscreen that doesn’t irritate my dry, super-sensitive skin. 65 yrs old. Cannot use fragrance, essential oils)? I tend to do better with Kids sunscreens. Would love your suggestions.
Also, I tried the Cetaphil cleanser and lotion with Niacinamide and I turned bright red. Wondering if I should have continued but used it gradually. Or would you just discontinue? Been a long time Vanicream user but was looking for a little more oomph. Maybe I can’t tolerate oomph?

I have sensitive skin as well & I would stick with Vanicream if I were you. If something is irritating my skin, I would stop immediately. I've heard Vanicream makes a good mineral sunscreen that I would like to try.
