  • So when I was restoring my father-in-laws headlights I noticed the his interior fan was noisy. We took it apart to see what the problem was and here is how we did it.

    I have to warn you that I have no formal automotive training, and have just learned by breaking stuff. If you can learn anything from my mistakes then great, but you do so at your own risk!

    Thank you, worked a treat! Finally my Fabia is free of the constant fan rattle.. 😃
    I spent like 30 minutes fighting the fan housing when putting it back together, as the left hand drive ones have it a little different.
    Anyway it is done, thanks a bunch!

    Thank you for posting such a clear and well explained video!
    My fan started to be a little bit noisy (same noise as yours - like engine running sound), so with your help I will try to fix it.

      @@LarcsWorkshop Just to give a fully feedback to you and to your subscribers: In the blower there was one dry leaf. Unbelievable is how he caused such a loud sound (I taught some fins inside were broken). Problem easily solved, thank you Larc!

    With the glovebox out the fan speed resistor is next to the right of the fan unit slotting downwards into the air duct. very cheap easy fix :-)

    I have a Skoda Yeti 2010 model. My fan does not work on any setting. Fuse is good. Could it be the fan resistor? Is the fan repair the same?

    • @LarcsWorkshop
      @LarcsWorkshop  11 месяцев назад

      I don't know if they are the same? Normally the fan will work on just one speed when the resistor has failed.

    Hey did you figure it out why the number 1 is not working ? I mean what was the reason of that? My Skoda Fabia runs at level 1 and 4 only...

      Hi, no I haven't had another look at the car due to the lock-downs etc. I suspect the resister is at fault and yours sounds similar? Not sure how I'm going to check it yet, but I'll work it out. Hopefully there will be a video on it (eventually).
      Cheers, Larcs.

      had the same issue, you need to replace the heat resistor, cheap but nightmare too wiggle it out and new one in, in the video you can see the resitor unit @6:03
