Changing the Heater Blower Resistor on a Mark 3 Skoda Fabia 2014 -

It's the return of some car tinkering as we change the Heater Blower Resistor on our 2018 Mark 3 Fabia.
Its quite common for these to stop working on Speeds 1,2,3 but work on 4.
We used a Febi Bilstein replacement from Autodoc and the part number is 6Q0 959 263 A.

What’s the fabric for does it matter if I don’t put it back on?

I think its just sound deadening, other videos I have seen does not have it or its been taken off.
