Always disconnect the battery first, and wait 20 min while for it to fully die. You don't want an airbag to trigger. Thanks for a very useful video. I just did this on my 2008 Fabia 2, right-hand drive (I am in the UK). I found it was possible to replace the fan without removing the indicator switches or the steering wheel, and leaving the dashboard in place (but *completely* unbolted). With the upper glove box, radio, the instrument panel and the AC controls removed, its possible to pull the dash out just enough to get the fan out. I had to remove and disconnect the passenger airbag and disconnect the plug from the passenger airbag disable switch. I also needed an inspection mirror (mirror on a stick) and a good 1/4 drive socket set with torx bits and a flexible drive, to get at the bolts of the fan, plus some trim removal levers. It's good if you don't have to remove the steering wheel because the central bolt is supposed to be replaced every time... But, again, this video shows most of what I had to do, so many thanks 👍
This video was the reason why I did successfully replace my dead fan with a new one. Without this very detailed description I am sure I should fail for sure. My Roomster have ACC and it differ a little but not that much. Thanks a lot for your effort in this
Great video, thank you so much! Saved med a whole lot of money. I did manage to replace the blower motor without removing steeringwheel and indicators. As described in comments below. Price for the fan on autodoc 64 euros. Workeffort in total: 5 hours. Time well spent.
Hello, Thank you for the video. I need to fix the down part from the yellow cable whish regulate the mode of temperature for the blower, How can i do that please? Thank you in advance,
How would you take out the blower motor then, samrtass?? By Fabia ll you have no other option than taking off the whole dashboard, you cannot access it through the glowbox.
You have to unbolt the dash, but you don't have to remove the steering wheel, and you don't have to remove the dash. Once it's loose, and you have the bolts out of the fan, you can just get enough flex in the dash to get the fan out downwards into the footwell. Try it - if it won't come out, you can always do the rest. It's good not to remove the steering wheel, the bolt is supposed to be replaced every time.

Simply clever solution by Skoda. Video is great.

Excellent video !!!
Thank you very much for your help 👍🏻
Helped alot, thanks!
50 times more complex than Fabia 1. Regress here.
Thank you for video but I change my fan without replace airbag.
Anyway the first thing to do is disconnect the car battery.
you just saved my day!^^
Seriosly?
On pretty much every other car it's just underneath the dash
Hello,
Thank you for the video.
I need to fix the down part from the yellow cable whish regulate the mode of temperature for the blower,
How can i do that please?
Thank you in advance,
I can't figure out for what part is about
Hi,you can do it without removing the dashboard.
I would like to see that
@@mechanicigor HI,you have to take out the glove box, radio unit ,climatronic.Pull easy the dashboard from right side .Work time 2.5 h
This guy is better in demolishing than doing a real repair. Most of what he is doing is completely unnecessary
the only way is remove the dash.

Ёр инглиш из перфект !
All that work just to replace a blower motor, sorry but bag cars fucking suck. Bad design, bad product.
Ne se maci batkoo govori si makedonski 😅😅
So much unnecessary work. Just remove the glove-compartment and disconnect the cables from its fittings and after that the fan. 30 mins of work.
yes that is easy if there where bolts to remove the glove-compartment
Is this built in another way than the one I just change on? I did on a 2003 Fabia and there is 5 screws , 2 below and 3 in the opening.
lasselarssonbest this one is 2011
I see. Then I think they have done a serious mistake building it like that. Have a good day !
