Thanks man! Gonna try to replace mine tomorrow. I just got a 2004 srt4 at 20psi and I think I’ve already destroyed the driver side axle. I was driving and started hearing clicking and the steering wheel started jerking to the left by itself.
Hey was watching the video, you mentioned something about the locking pin or snap ring. How are you taking out the axle without or before removing the pin or ring. Are you even removing it, or just the leverage on the pry bar is enough to dislodge it. Could it damage the seal or the axle or the ring if you do not remove it before hand.
Jahanzeb Akhter you just have to twist it and lightly pry until it comes out. It has to be clocked a certain way. If it doesn’t come out easily you need to rotate it more. I show it in the video
Just wondering if it's that simple to remove. I have a 2004 Nissan Maxima and it was damn near impossible to remove. It's even harder to install! I thought your video could shed a little light but there is no installation in this video!!
im not to familiar with the Nissan altimas but if the strut tower bolts to the knuckle like the neon then shouldn't be too bad. Vw's on the other hand sit in the knuckle and you need a spreader tool to get the strut out of the knuckle.
Three years later and still helping novice mechanics. Thank you for the video.
You bet! Glad i could help :)
