- Brian Cox is now best known for his roles in Hollywood films like MANHUNTER. But he keeps in touch with his stage roots. Here he develops his Shakespeare suzuki method, with a toddler soliloquy from 30 month old Theo.

Mr. Cox ~ "To be or not to be? That is the question. " Theo ~ "Yeah. It is!!" I love it.
That was definitely epic!!!
Exactly my comment 😃
Toddlers with British accents is officially the cutest thing on the planet.
Brian C: “To be or not to be; that is the question.”
Toddler: “Yes”
Brian Cox looking for a successor !
Just wonderful, the both of them.
The wee lad has an amazing eagerness, but the way Brian got him involved and interested by using the hand gestures and tone of his voice, and also to continue even when it seemed like Theo wasn't paying attention (I'm sure many adults would have tried to grab his attention or force him to focus), when it turned out he obviously was still interested just he figured he could still listen while looking out the window.
Pure class.
Wow. That little boy sure is processing a lot of syllables.
There are people that have actually never heard of Brian Cox??? Brian Cox is awesome.
Now, the great thing is to see Brian Cox outside his acting career (movies, interviews, etc). So not only he is a terrific actor, but seems to be quite a wonderful human being as well.
I believe Shakespeare was considering including "This is a book with jigsaws in it, Brian" in the soliloquy until the last draft
Who’s here after reading Brian’s recent Town & Country interview where he brings up this video while complaining about Jeremy Strong’s method acting?
I love around 1:15, Brian is trying to figure out how to teach the next phrase and his thinking out loud is so captivating to Theo that it makes him want to learn even more. :D
This kid is magical, and Brian Cox is brilliant with him.
My word that little guy is articulate. Every word is as clear as a bell.
This is a good example of how tv advertising works with adults ( and children )... drilling but gentle repitition. The message eventualy sinks in and stays there.
My auntie Joyce is Theo's childminder, I have met Theo many times and he is the smartest little boy I have ever met. He is very cute and surprises me every time I see.
I was just waiting for him to yell “oh phuckkk ophfff”
Brian came in and did a talk for my uni...he showed us this video...the man is absolutely amazing...such a great guy!! so well spoken, and a delight to listen to!
As a dad and film maker I can watch this over and over again! The kid reminds me so much of my eldest when he was little and Brian Cox is such a good sport! The kid saying "This is a book wiv jigsaws in it, Bwian!" makes me laugh every time!
"to be or not to be? that is the question" "yeah it is"
A Christmas with Brian Cox and Brian Blessed would be the best thing EVER!!!
Experiencing major whiplash seeing this after seeing him in the last episode of Succession
Me speaking to my inner child, rallying us both against the horrors and vicissitudes of this life.
That is cute. I am glad I was able to see that. Mr Cox seems to have the correct patience, allowing the boy to go off on his own, not being rigid, but somehow keeping him interested.
It never ceases to amaze me how well toddlers mimic words they don't know.
This is making my heart melt
Simply delightful.
Some of my high school students are struggling with Shakespeare. I will use this for encouragement.
Children are such sponges for language as toddlers. They learn so much, so fast, because their brains are wired to imitate the people around them. That said, Theo appears to be an exceptional child.
Now, see, THAT's how we prevent them being afraid of Shakespeare in high school! Well done.
This is the cutest thing I have seen in weeks. And inspiring.
I forsee the child becoming a great and powerful actor
Adorable little boy! And a patient Teacher. Thank you for sharing.
One of my favorite videos ever!
Only a little cutie like Theo could steal Brian Cox's spotlight. Adorable video!
What a sweet little boy! Brian Cox is so gentle with him....and it's cute how even he can't keep from giggling from this little one's adorable recanting of Shakespeare. Thanks for posting this--just precious!
I love Brian Cox!!! This is so lovely and what life is about. Reminds me of the song 'Teach your Children Well'
This is truly an interesting look at Brian Cox behind-the-scenes, and rather humorous as well.
Many, many thanks for uploading this clip.
I teach English in college, and the next time one my students complains that "Shakespeare is too hard," I'm going to show her this.
Adorable.
"This is a book with jigsaws in it, Brian!" This kid is spunky. I like it. Great things ahead!

He's fantastic! "That is the question" "Yeah it is"
Not sure I ever saw a celebrity video like this on RUclips before. Who would have posted it ? Well anyway it's really good. Perfect.
Absolutely precious!!!!!
This is why it'd be awesome to have Brian Cox for a grandfather. Course, as a parent, I'd be worried he'd start quoting from Super Troopers or Adaptation. "...and why the F&%^ are you wasting MY precious two hours..."
That is brilliant! I'm a huge fan of Brian Cox, so this was really cool! I'm definitely putting this on my faves! :D
Beautiful. That child is lucky that someone cares enough to start him on such literature early :)
I love how he answers with "yes, it is"
The youngest person ever to quote Shakespeare. Delightful!
This is so cute! Brian Cox is one of my favorite actors! He played Mel Gibson's uncle in "Braveheart"...among other great roles. :) Cute kid!
How wonderful!
Too cute! Especially nice to see the original Hannibal Lecter working so well with a little kid! :)
I have to be responsible for a hundred of these views... this is the cutest video I have ever seen on the interwebs. If I ever have a kid and he isn't this cute I'm going to give him away.

This is exactly what i imagine the childhood of every posh RDA student I’ve met in London is like.
brilliant little guy!!!
wonderful!
That is one clever boy
I met Brian on May 19th after one of his performances of "That Championship Season". Seemed like a nice fellow, although we didn't get to talk much because everyone was screaming for autograph and picture. He and I will have our time together soon so he can teach me Shakespeare. :-)
Theo is very very brilliant!
Oops! ): I accidentally gave it one star but this video is too cute! It deserves five, definitely.
Love this! Brian should now teach him something from Super Troopers.
The difference between Theo and an adult actor is that the kid doesn't hang arround for applause, but moves on at the end of this clip to consider a book with jigsaws in it, Brian.
l love Mr. Brian Cox , he is really. He is too shakespearean ,
