Thank you Brian for stating the danger of re-writing history. Human behaviour continues to evolve but if we ignore history, how on earth do we assess how far we've come?
Thank you for this interview. I've been a fan since seeing Brian in the tv series - Therese Raquin.
I loved Brian Cox decades before Succession. Always stood out in any scene in any movie you was ever in before usually always playing secondary actors but there is something about him. Yes a humility in the humanity and a power combined with the trend of nostalgia and sentimentality can't explain it all but nice to see him having him doing so well and so fit inspired
He’s a great actor. Loved him in rob roy.
@@TheFactsDontCare87 super troopers? What’s that? Havent seen it. I’ll check it out.
@@TheFactsDontCare87 I’ll check it out, I’m in the UK, just didn’t see it at the time thanks 😊
Wasnt he hannibal first
@@nez9751watch both
Have admired Brian Cox since I first saw hin in the late 70's TV medieval drama "The Devils Crown" . A great actor sadly unappreciated by many, until now. So good to see him getting the recognition he deserves
So happy to see someone who knows about The Devil’s Crown, wish it was back on RUclips.
I’ve always appreciated Brian Cox as an actor, but as himself he is utterly fascinating to listen to. He’s a straight talking , tell it like it is bloke, and I really like that in a person. I hope his theatre production goes really well for him ❤️
He’s a rude, arrogant prick of a man.
The ORIGINAL Hannibal Lecter.
@@cindygass3417 yes!
I read his autobiography. Don’t like him as a man, but what a great actor.
@@PaulGappyNorris very fair analysis
I've liked Brian Cox ever since I was 9 and saw Manhunter with my dad. He's been great in almost everything he's done. Loved him in Ironclad, Coriolanus, The Good Heart and so on... those are just the ones that stand out to me.
Brian's autobiography "Putting the Rabbit in the Hat" is a great read and puts the measure of his success in real perspective.
Brian has one of best & most infectious laughs I've ever heard! Great interview, thoroughly enjoyed.
It's a real " chuckle" isn't it
Omg I was thinking the same thing
he laughs like Frank Bruno. Probably worth a google
Have you watched him in the comedy, “Bob Servant”? Really funny…
I haven't seen Succession, but I have always loved Brian Cox as an actor. He really gets deep into his character. Some of his "stand out" performances... Braveheart, Red 1 & 2, Bourne Identity, Rob Roy and many more! All classics and memorable movies. I would love to see Brian in a stage theatre production... no doubt he would be phenomenal.
Gotta watch succession honestly all four seasons are great
Don't walk - run - to watch Succession!
You need to watch it. He really doesn’t mind playing the bad guy. It’s wonderful.
First time seeing him off-screen. What a wonderfull character Brian Cox is.
His William Stryker is one of the best superhero villain performances
Brian Cox is quite simply a Legend he has always stolen every scene he chooses to be in, ever since the Sharpe series. Legend
Brian Cox is such a brilliant actor. Only getting better with age like many others. I believe every role he plays. I forget he’s Scottish because he’s played so many characters who are American.
Best interview I've seen in a while. I've always liked Brian Cox, the actor. Now, I admire and respect Brian Cox, the man.
Great interview. With "vs" in the title, I thought they were going to go at it! LOL
This is one of the best interviews with Brian I have seen. Clearly there's some friendship between him and Piers as the questions are intelligent and Piers isn't interrupting as he often does with guests he doesn't like!
Nobody is friends with Morgan he's a ego manic
friendship? nobody with a brain would be friends with a tabloid journalist. have you seen waht he did to meghan? that's how he treats his 'friends'.
This is the worst interview of Brian’s that I’ve ever seen.
He's so awesome! Been a fan since watching Braveheart in the cinema and thinking, who is this guy? Amazing career and a great storyteller.
Great interview with Brian!! Huge fan of the show but happy to see that the actor is also pretty cool ❤
Brian Cox is talking a lot of sense here in relation to a united federation of the British Isles.
Always been one of my favourite actors since I saw him in The Long Kiss Goodnight. This was a great watch.
Brian's voice is like velvet- you could listen to it all day.
Apart from when he’s talking nonsense about politics
His best role for me is in Manhunter (1986) directed by Michael Mann.
Loved him in ironclad, played a cracking part, if you've not seen it give it a watch, he's amazing
This is a nice change from the controversy. Just two sensible minded blokes having a chat and a bit of a laugh. The best video I've seen on this channel so far
Piers…sensible? He called for unvaxxed to be fired from our jobs. Swift karma hoping to come to him 🙏🙏🙏
@MW92. Right, and you're sensible, I suppose? Considering you seem to dislike Piers so much, you've gone to the trouble of adding views and comments to his video which will only help his RUclips channel. Well done.
@@MW92. Although that's true, the great thing about Piers is that he changed his position & mind when he learned more information & has since stated he was wrong. You've got to respect that, bc I believe the ability to change opinion & admit when wrong is what makes the greatest of humans.
@@MW92. Depends on the job tbf
It used to be that such public figures who made such disastrous mistakes would either be hounded from public life, or retire in shame. Unlike you, a great many have not been so easily placated by an apology.
I LOVED Brian in Red 2 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
One of your best interviews ever, 100% agree with Brian
Total legend.
What a wonderful interview, had a broad smile on my face the entire way through
It’s revisionist shite.
I only know him from "Rushmore", bt I was impressed. I'm glad to know he
has great success .
..
For people who haven’t seen “Succession”, be forewarned that this interview has massive spoilers.
Wish I had read this before listening 😢
God bless you bruh.
Yes, this should be pinned as the top post or they really should have put "Spoilers" in the main title. Thanks a lot Piers or whoever submits your content.
I thought this was with the physicist when I read the title lol
Brian Cox is the original Dr. Hannibal Lector
Agreed. His portrayal was absolutely chilling. Manhunter is a masterpiece.
@@Atif_Ph.D._Kate_Bush_Fan_Clubo much better thanHopkins.
Have you seen him in Emile Zola's Therese Raquin?
@@voulafisentzidis8830 no but I loved the book. I’ll have to dig out the film.
@@juliewake4585 Agreed 100%. See my other comment. Anthony Hopkins portrayal although excellent is a typical Hollywood villain. Brian Cox's 'Lektor' is simply chilling!
I haven't seen succession... yet - BUT I HAVE seen Troy and he really was a "sack of wine"and the Bourne films which he was excellent in - this was on the cards and look forward to watching it in time🙂
Piers is one of those guys who just can't understand why anyone complains - because HIS life is going well.
You see everyone, you can affectionately imitate an accent of another race with gentle humour and and not get cancelled for it. Who would’ve thought?
I think this is the best interview Morgan has ever done
Wow he’s changed so much since he did wonders of the universe.
Brian Cox is one the greatest - these two guys are what purity is !!
Brian cox is a complete G.
He was also in inspector morse, deadly slumber, one of the best episodes of that series
Warning for a probably unpopular opinion: but according to me all what has been said here about wokeness, shaming, cancel culture and mishaps in politics in the UK and USA boils down to the fact that social media has given regular people too much of a voice. Take any topic, and immediately everybody has an opinion based on fragments and speculation, shares it, forwards it until you have self fueling bubble of polarized nonsense to which others have to react in order to stay on board. Trump is a master of igniting this sort of stuff.
No, you’re pretty right. Some people shouldn’t be allowed on the internet. They’re lunatics
That is very true. We also have an awful press who try to whip people up into a frenzy daily.
YES!!!! I have been trying to come to a conclusion why everything is fucked up at the moment and it's because EVERYONE now has a voice. And there's so many uneducated, immature, ignorant, angry people that now have a platform. Social media - for all it's benefits - is a cancer. I grew up in the 80's and 90's before the internet and life was so much simpler. People's minds are now being filled with shit on a daily basis, and it just creates anger. My friend who's a psychologist in his 50's said that he's noticed a big change in the past couple of decades in patients with anger issues. When we're constantly bombarded daily by conflict online, it makes perfect sense.
Trump is the main man.
So we would be better off knowing less and keeping our opinions to ourselves? That’s how leaders get away with criminal activities and have done for generations, so yeah there’s been a bit of turmoil moving into this new age of information but I’d rather have this than go back to taking everything at face value and just doing what we’re told
What a wonderful interview
Just a Master is Brian and hats off to Piers for this interview ☘Good Man ☘
My favourite role he did was in X men. Ultimate villain
Absolutely fantastic interview
I love Brian as an actor, he also talks a lot of commonsense, and says it like it is, I don't always support his political views but genrally he's an erudite educated level headed pragmatist.
aww such a cool actor always - so nice to see him so sweet compared to Logan!
Why did RUclips put a warning up for this interview???
They didn't
TalkTV edited that in before the interview not RUclips.
Always liked Brian's acting performances.
Outstanding !
What a hilarious interview with a great Brian Cox 👍
Always admired Brian Cox ever since hearing his lucid explanation of the complex interaction between dark matter and black holes.
Silly goose😂
Wrong Brian Cox mayhaps
@@annemoncrieff3875 😂
Absolutely love Brian, his views and his infectious personality. Says it as it is and as it should be.
His role in The Long Kiss Goodnight was awesome 🔥
Great in Ken Loache's, Hidden Agenda, as the John Stalker character.
Brilliant interview.
Nothing like a good sit down and discussion about the world with two wise individuals.
One is wise. Morgan is a reactionary clown.
Great man
I've always admired Brian Cox. Great physicist and person. Need more people like him in this world.
He aged quickly though. Great pianist too.
Physicist??? LOL
@ams914 There is a Physicist who's also named Brian Cox.
Silly goose. 😂
Superb interview.
Great interview.
One of my favorite actors!
Brilliant interview piers , Brian cox legend 👍
I can just hear him say "The king does not permit brawls in his house, but men are freer outside"
I found out who he is because of the video game manhunt... he plays a snuff movie director, starkweather. Although the game is very dark... it was his voice actor that really made it. Even since then I've been a fan.
I love how he gradually reverts back to his british accent
Scottish accent. Get it correct.
A proud dundonian he is👍🏴
I love Brian's voice.
Whether he narrated the Bible or a chuck-e-cheese menu he'd still sound cool
He actually does voice overs for McDonald's commercials
Good interview but I had to laugh when they derided trigger warnings when this video starts with a trigger warning 😂😂
Great actor! Always smart things to say and makes you think.
Two of his greatest roles were rob roy and Nuremberg I think. But he has had many other great roles.
Good interview. Great actor.
He’s got such a cool laugh
On the topic of What to do after. You should play mad eye moody in the harry potter series. Also thank you for your surport for Jk. I stand with her too.
IMO Brian Cox's performance in Match Point,a movie directed by Woody Allen,is one of his best performances. A great movie that you should see if you haven't.
This guy is proper funny. He had me in stitches
I'm glad we're back to the OG Brian Cox
Loved his role as Ward Abbott in the Bourne movies.
Enjoy Brian Cox.
Great actor.
Smart man.
Impressed with his stated position that we have to be knowledgeable on history, to truly get to our future.
We are also only personally accountable for the history we are a part of.
The best Hannibal Lector ever to play the part. Manhunter, still in my top ten films after nearly 40 years.
Why do people think that what their kids are doing is of any interest to anybody?
Enjoyed this interview with Darby/Dark Yabu/Ward Abbott/Ivan Simonov :)
He’s a brilliant actor, he’s Scottish , he’s anti monarchy, pro Scottish independence… lives in America, probably longer than he lived in the U K .
pro pot too!
Haha! So he wears all these labels with pride but doesnt even live in his own country to be affected by them one iota.
S'alright for some, eh?
no one asked, miniwiki
I'm going to pistolwhip the next one that say shenanigans
Brilliant
What's Succession?
A thoroughly decent bloke and a body of work most would kill for. Authentic in a world of fake
I thought this legend was about 60!! Good on him. Succession was brilliant!
Wow!!! Brian Cox you are AWESOME
Damn! You just spoiled the ending for us, Pierce. You just couldn't wait, sos you 😅
Piers*
YESSS! Piers covering Fox & Brian Cox, WOW
I thought he was famous BEFORE succession lol.
He's a really good actor, even long before his stint on Succession. And he's a breath of fresh air in an industry full of hypocrites and phonies.
I live In Dundee up in Coldside and see Brian at most University parties :) He's totally cool and his sister was awsome :)
i came cause the title said 'Vs', and i really enjoyed that! good conversation!
Watched him recently in “Bob Servant” - funny af, wish they’d made more…
Great actor. Interesting gentleman.
Brian is a brilliant man charming, talented in his craft and doesn't lack common sense a rarity amongst actors.
Agamemnon sack of wine!
I hope that trigger warning was a joke... if not ffs Piers 🙂
Hilarious .. shooting his ear and having the lye-in actor 🤣 reminds me of Joey playing ‘man in coma’ for months on end in friends.. lying on a gurney.. they nailed that madness of tv so well even back then
