Especially in exchange for money. These types of people are just a small part of what gives religion a bad name.
spartan456 you’re defending the wrong guy if you’re sticking up for Peter Popoff. Believe it or not, he’s still going and still on tv (though nowhere near as large as he used to be) and still conning anyone and everyone out of their money! Personally, I think Popoff is one of the most disgusting con men out there. He’s one of those preachers who try to convince the gullible into buying into his ‘supernatural power’ (or ‘miracle spring water’) and that the more they donate to him the more ’unexpected’ or divine rewards they will receive. They will try to convince you that if you donate to them even with the last of your money rather than paying bills like you should that a large chunk of money will ‘supernaturally’ appear in your bank account or your bills will suddenly and ‘supernaturally’ be paid. When that doesn’t happen they just tell you that you didn’t have enough faith! It was already terrible when Popoff and his people were fake healing but now they’re trying to take peoples last dollars with the promise of winning the lottery! Uri gellar went on to have a very successful career becoming extremely well known in multiple countries worldwide and becoming a multimillionaire in the process all on the back of basically spoon bending.
I think he was also trying to fold the page a little to give a little lip that he could blow under without moving the foam.. Then the presenter turned over a bunch of pages and scuppered his only chance of pulling it off hahaha
The guy at 4:15 is James Alan Hydrick who was convicted of kidnapping and torture in 1977, for which he was imprisoned. Hydrick was imprisoned for child molestation in 1989; he remains in a psychiatric hospital. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Hydrick
"He escaped three times: he allegedly kicked through a concrete wall in a Georgia jail, broke through gates at a South Carolina prison, and finally, in 1982, he pole-vaulted over a fence at a state prison in Utah." now THOSE are some real Psychic powers!
I once had a fantastic psychic reading. The psychic not only knew that I had eaten in a restaurant within the last 3 months, but he even knew that the restaurant's name had a vowel. But what was truly stunning was that he knew the waiter or waitress asked me if I would like a beverage at the start of the order process. Now, I ask you, how could anybody in the world have guessed all of those things? Impossible! I'm a true believer now.
Styrofoam can hold an electric charge and I think paper does as well, but you’d be able to see some styrofoam stick to the paper when he moved the page.
Joe C paper is one of the well known insulators. Which means that it really doesn't like to add or remove electrons. It's not impossible, but unlikely you'll get it to hold a charge.
My mustache and my Asian kung fu outfit is causing psychic anomalies.... maybe static charge? Can that be it? Oh it can't. Huh. so I can't do it, since obviously I am breathing on it. Now if you RIP a telephone book in half, that's a real thing, and not as hard as people might think. Actually, telephone books are pretty funny, member when those were a thing? All the numbers didn't start with 555 either. Cause fucking morons would call them. I blame Jenny and Tutone.
James hydrick.... there’s a hilarious documentary on here about him.... it’s his ‘‘ martial arts” outfit.... he went to prison for molesting young boys and is now in an institution I believe for life after his prison sentence..... kind of a sad story actually..... his dad used to beat the living shit out of him as a kid.... you should watch it, quite interesting actually
The “lights, static, and the electricity” bit is super embarrassing! 😂 He picked up the page 2-3 times, and EVERY TIME it went the opposite way the “psychic” wanted it to go! 😂
@ lol right. It was just super funny to me that he tried however many times to flip the page, and every single time, even with him having it half way there, he failed every time. Cracked me up.
Abelhawk I've had the theory that he's actually a wizard, a wizard that feeds off the psychic force of others. That's why they all feel weak around him.
"the styrofoam and the light forms electricity" but why should that matter if you're NOT using science to turn the page. gave himself away with thaf sentence
more interestingly< when he showed how the pages were sticking due styrofoam , page fell down, and rolled AWAY from styrofoam. so if anything, that should´ve helped him
That's the way to do it in my opinion. When you have to be condescending and rude, it makes people think your arguments are weak and don't stand on their own. Some debunkers on RUclips are like this. (I admit I'm being a bit of a hypocrite since I can be very rude if I get mad, but it's still true.)
Funny how when he was confronted by a test which would indicate if the page was being blown over, rather than turned with psychic power, he became helpless.
The thing is , in the 1970’s when URI Geller was a huge famous worldwide household name. My father and us 3 boys and me all believed what we saw on the tv, when we saw URI Geller bending spoons and forks. We all tried to bend spoons but to no avail! 😂 This guy fooled the whole world!
The sad thing is he went on to have good career on TV and people loved him. I remember in the 90's people used to put spoons on top of they tv sets when Geller was on and say that they spoon bend lol.

‘Under the conditions agreed upon, now you should atleast try the psychic power to turn the page of the telephone directory.” “It’s not going to turn for you?” “Well, have you reached the point then which we can declare the demonstration terminated?” A lot of time and energy to flip a page.

If it makes them happy, that's all that matters in my opinion.
What is wrong is when these people act like they are healing terminal illnesses. It's one thing to be realistic and tell someone it'll be okay, you've got a long life left to live, etc. It's another thing entirely to prey on people's beliefs and make them think they are genuinely healed of all their ailments.
I’m not religious but this almost makes me wish I was so I could imagine Peter Popoff and his staff burning in hell for all eternity!!!
@@pat5star Oh nah, that guy can go fuck himself. I was just saying that in some ways this kind of thing isn't inherently evil if it's done in a certain way. The way Popoff and others like him do it are purely predatory and malicious.
