In late 1980's Sting was the number one contender to the NWA world heavyweight championship. Rick Flair was the title holder at the time. Sting got sidelined with an injury. Higher ups in the NWA wanted Slick Rick to drop the belt to another wrestler. Rick refused, saying that Sting busted his rear end to become the number one contender. Therefore it was Stings time to shine. So the Nature boy held onto the belt until Sting was fully recovered and could handle being the champ. A fine example of a top wrestler looking out for someone other than themselves.

@peterhicks6328 It was in March 1990. Flair was wrestling Lex Luger at a house show in Chicago, and WCW dispatched a camera crew to film the title change. Flair wasn't notified, and when he asked why they were there, they told them because you're dropping the belt. He said no, I'm not, and I guess called Jim Herd, and they went back and forth. Flair told him he'd do it, but only if Herd granted him a release from his contract to go to the WWF. Herd backed down, and Flair held on to the title until Sting was ready

Well, Flair had already left the company; so it was a case of him LITERALLY not dropping the physical title *belt* back to the NWA/WCW, as they refused to give his deposit money back to him when he quit/was fired, and thus shot themselves in the foot, as he technically "owned" it at the time, and it appeared on WWF TV a few times even WITHOUT blurring/black outs, without any serious legal proceedings. He got his money back, they got their property back, and the ridiculous system of the champion literally being able to "buy" the right to carry the belt as personal property was ended; Luger meanwhile had to hold up a completely different title in his big *NWA World* Title winning match against hasty replacement Windham...

What he should not have done is listen to Vince when he said let’s put that Belt on WWF(E) tv. Because the law suit and backlash that with it put yellow streak down Vince’s back when it came to the WWF World Heavyweight Championship belt and caused The Montreal Screw Job”.

In the Luna segment, you forgot to mention that Luna was THREATENED with being fired if she so much as hurt sable(like so much as a fingernail being out of place or her hair messed up a bit.) When the match was over, she went to the back and the producers were there with flowers, but not for Luna for Sable. Luna didn't even get so much as a good job or anything, which is all she really wanted(to be validated) and it actually messed with her head quite a bit. It's sad and Sable didn't even give a damn about her. It's pathetic

Only reason why he dropped the belt at WM14 to Austin was because Undertaker came up and told him to. And Shawn actually using his brain listened to the de-facto locker room leader.
Now there is a story stating that Undertaker got Shawn to agree to drop the belt to Austin during the 14th Showcase of the Immortals by threatening to march out to the ring and beat the ever-loving crap out of him post-match if he didn't lose the match and drop the belt.
Now Mark Calloway on a episode of his Last Ride podcast addressed him getting Shawn to put ego aside and drop the belt at WM14 basically he stated that during that moment he stated what happened was he went to Shawn and told him what the plan was for him at WM14 and Shawn looked like he wasn't to keen about the idea which according to Mark was a look that him and the other members of the locker room were very very familiar with by this point and they had a talk now Mark actually revealed that how he got Shawn to agree to drop the title to Austin was not by threatening to beat him up post match if he didn't drop the belt, but by using logic and his knowledge of the business to get him to agree to it basically Mark told Shawn "You don't want drop the title to Austin and essentially bail on the title match the main event of Wrestlemania fine go leave I'll just go tell Vince that we'll have to figure something else out for the main event of Wrestlemania just know I'll tell Vince that you made the call to leave instead of doing the title match and dropping the belt because you wanted to keep the belt meaning the backlash and all of the consequences that come afterwards that'll be on you not me, not Steve, not Vince, but you Shawn as you're the one making that call." and apparently it was after that Shawn actually agreed to the title match and dropping the belt to Austin.

She couldn't wrestle. She was basically hired because Vince had a hard-on for her and thought he could steal her from Marc Mero.
In her defense, though, she was basically railroaded into a role she never wanted in the first place. She was fine being some guy's valet and had no desire to be an actual wrestler. You can't force someone into the ring and just expect them to produce gold.

The intro to this video cut me deep. It’s important to remember that wrestling is a show, not necessarily a competitive sport. That being said, no one likes to see their favorite characters in a show get hurt.

Simple... Brett had no issues dropping the title to Shawn, just not in Canada. And it was Vince's anxiety and paranoia that Brett would show up at WCW with the title, even though everybody and their mothers knew Brett wouldn't do that.

If Honky Tonk had lost to Randy Savage, I still don't see how Wrestlemania 4 would have ended with Million Dollar Man winning the title. Shawn Michaels vacated the IC title to set up Razor's battle royal win and ladder match... then Shawn and Diesel vacated the titles after Survivor Series... then Shawn vacated the World Title simply to dodge a rematch and loss to the Hitman. Vince REALLY REALLY REALLY went above and beyond when it came to protecting Shawn - mostly undefeated for two years with his only losses being to Razor and Diesel. Hogan typically favored title losses that were always under other storyline circumstances; the 1988 Andre title loss, the 1995 loss to the Giant by DQ, World War 3 didn't get eliminated, Yokozuna with the fireball from the cameraman, though he did drop the titles to Warrior, Luger, Sting and Goldberg over the years.

There’s a lot of negativity around her but I think she should be able to have an honest opportunity to move passed any alleged wrongdoings and go forward without everyone being a jerk to her all the while keeping all of their non flattering behaviors secret.

Well to be fair nobody Hogan ever refused to lose to actually drew anywhere near the money he did. It's a business and I can understand that as a great reason.
As for Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels refusing to lose to each other it wasn't like one was more money than the other. Both guys were never great draws in comparison with a Hulk Hogan or Steve Austin.

They made a deal to get the title off Brett that didn’t involve him losing in Canada. Bret wouldn't lose to Shawn because Shawn told Bret he wouldn't lose to him. Bret wanted to just hand the belt over on RAW the night after and leave on top. Vince told him if that's what you want, then screwed him. Eric Bischoff has said that even if he wanted to have Bret take the belt to WCW, they were already tied up in a ton of litigation with WWF over the Razor and Diesel infringement and other stuff and the Turner lawyers wouldn't have allowed it.

    • @matthewrosenthal753
