@peterhicks6328 It was in March 1990. Flair was wrestling Lex Luger at a house show in Chicago, and WCW dispatched a camera crew to film the title change. Flair wasn't notified, and when he asked why they were there, they told them because you're dropping the belt. He said no, I'm not, and I guess called Jim Herd, and they went back and forth. Flair told him he'd do it, but only if Herd granted him a release from his contract to go to the WWF. Herd backed down, and Flair held on to the title until Sting was ready

In the Luna segment, you forgot to mention that Luna was THREATENED with being fired if she so much as hurt sable(like so much as a fingernail being out of place or her hair messed up a bit.) When the match was over, she went to the back and the producers were there with flowers, but not for Luna for Sable. I was a little kid during the 90s and didn't start watching wrestling until the new millennium, was Sable refusing to drop the title to Luna at that 1999 Royal Rumble the reason they made her heel?
Charlotte Flair should be a Dishonorable Mention in this list. Remember when she refused to follow the original plan when she & Becky had to exchange titles due to the WWE Draft? Instead of handing Becky her title at the same time that Becky was going to hand her's to Charlotte, Charlotte arrogantly dropped her title on purpose & made the whole situation awkward. When they all made it to the back, Charlotte was rightfully blasted verbally by not only Becky but also by several WWE Officials & Talent as well which led to Charlotte being suspended for a bit.

The intro to this video cut me deep. It’s important to remember that wrestling is a show, not necessarily a competitive sport. That being said, no one likes to see their favorite characters in a show get hurt.
Simple... Brett had no issues dropping the title to Shawn, just not in Canada. And it was Vince's anxiety and paranoia that Brett would show up at WCW with the title, even though everybody and their mothers knew Brett wouldn't do that.
If Honky Tonk had lost to Randy Savage, I still don't see how Wrestlemania 4 would have ended with Million Dollar Man winning the title. Shawn Michaels vacated the IC title to set up Razor's battle royal win and ladder match... then Shawn and Diesel vacated the titles after Survivor Series... then Shawn vacated the World Title simply to dodge a rematch and loss to the Hitman. Vince REALLY REALLY REALLY went above and beyond when it came to protecting Shawn - mostly undefeated for two years with his only losses being to Razor and Diesel. Hogan typically favored title losses that were always under other storyline circumstances; the 1988 Andre title loss, the 1995 loss to the Giant by DQ, World War 3 didn't get eliminated, Yokozuna with the fireball from the cameraman, though he did drop the titles to Warrior, Luger, Sting and Goldberg over the years.
@@tomseville2345 yeah, he "conveniently" forgot to tell Nick Patrick to do a fast-count or something, but its a submission loss rather than the way he went about losing/vacating the title with Andre, Undertaker, the Giant and Yokozuna.

Rhodes should have won in 2023. Instead, they basically just redid the entire year, made everything predictable, and got us all to pretend it was a good idea because we got to be like “ooh! John Cena! Ooh! The Undertaker, for some reason!”
Tessa Blanchard deserves a second chance to finish her story. There’s a lot of negativity around her but I think she should be able to have an honest opportunity to move passed any alleged wrongdoings and go forward without everyone being a jerk to her all the while keeping all of their non flattering behaviors secret. The world loves a good redemption story. Thanks Simon for not throwing dirt around about any of the wrestlers who you mentioned: you gave a brief explanation of each one and stayed positive overall! That’s why you are a great Progress Proteus Champion!
I heard it was Triple H who thought Roman should hold the title for one more year, and Vince agreed. That was when Triple H was running things but was he REALLY running things, or was Vince??
Well to be fair nobody Hogan ever refused to lose to actually drew anywhere near the money he did. It's a business and I can understand that as a great reason. As for Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels refusing to lose to each other it wasn't like one was more money than the other. Both guys were never great draws in comparison with a Hulk Hogan or Steve Austin.
How much do you charge him to live in your head? Based on your posting history, it seems like you’ve got quite the thing for him. If you have a crush on him, tell him. It’s almost 2025, it’s ok to be yourself. It’s probably really dark in that closet.

I was a little kid during the 90s and didn't start watching wrestling until the new millennium, was Sable refusing to drop the title to Luna at that 1999 Royal Rumble the reason they made her heel?
This entire list could be a one hour special of Hulk Hogan alone
Charlotte Flair should be a Dishonorable Mention in this list. Remember when she refused to follow the original plan when she & Becky had to exchange titles due to the WWE Draft? Instead of handing Becky her title at the same time that Becky was going to hand her's to Charlotte, Charlotte arrogantly dropped her title on purpose & made the whole situation awkward. When they all made it to the back, Charlotte was rightfully blasted verbally by not only Becky but also by several WWE Officials & Talent as well which led to Charlotte being suspended for a bit.
1970s British World of Sport Brian "Gold Belt" Maxine held the Middleweight title from 1971 to 1999
0:49 missed occasion to put Rollins, Reigns and Moxley surrounding HBK
How is Triple H not wanting to drop the WHC during the 2000s not on here???
Can't attack Papa H lol
Cena 05-07 was even worse
@@markobrnadic1995Not really
@@markobrnadic1995 both were pretty bad but Cena's reign didn't have racial undertones while Triple H's did. Which made it worse when Hunter didn't want to drop it
@zanethind3533 both refused rvd to get a good title Reign. Triple H Put more oppentents over or didnt win all Matches Clean with Help of Evolution die example. But Cena in 06 and 07 He Just squashed all Matches and won every Match Clean.
My Point is Triple H Reign of Terror was bad but Cena 06 and 07 was almost the same
Eduard CARPENTIER. Not Carpenter.
The intro to this video cut me deep. It’s important to remember that wrestling is a show, not necessarily a competitive sport. That being said, no one likes to see their favorite characters in a show get hurt.
How is Brett refusing to drop the title to Shaun not on the list??? It literally created the Montreal screw job.
It depends on how their list is created… Hart was fine with losing the next day to Michael’s.
Cause that’s on every list everyone knows that one
Probably because people are sick of hearing about it.
Simple... Brett had no issues dropping the title to Shawn, just not in Canada. And it was Vince's anxiety and paranoia that Brett would show up at WCW with the title, even though everybody and their mothers knew Brett wouldn't do that.
Montreal Screwjob?
Never heard of it.
That doesn't work for me,brother! 😂
This video is like a game of Spot The Factual Error.
And I'm not sure that I spotted all of them.
The Sting one wasn't clean...that's a whole new (old) can of worms, actually!
@@tomseville2345 yeah, he "conveniently" forgot to tell Nick Patrick to do a fast-count or something, but its a submission loss rather than the way he went about losing/vacating the title with Andre, Undertaker, the Giant and Yokozuna.
Stone cold refused to drop the title to triple h
So he dropped it to mankind instead
Only for mankind to lose it the next night on RAW to triple h for his title reign 👍🏼
Whether you like them or not, the two on this list that did what they did for the company's sake were Cena and Roman.
Simon, you should do this with the Proteus belt; or at least an angle playing off THIS exact video...
Rhodes should have won in 2023. Instead, they basically just redid the entire year, made everything predictable, and got us all to pretend it was a good idea because we got to be like “ooh! John Cena! Ooh! The Undertaker, for some reason!”
I'm shocked the Montreal screw job was not on this listb
Tessa Blanchard deserves a second chance to finish her story. There’s a lot of negativity around her but I think she should be able to have an honest opportunity to move passed any alleged wrongdoings and go forward without everyone being a jerk to her all the while keeping all of their non flattering behaviors secret.
The world loves a good redemption story.
Thanks Simon for not throwing dirt around about any of the wrestlers who you mentioned: you gave a brief explanation of each one and stayed positive overall! That’s why you are a great Progress Proteus Champion!
That's why I like Simon. He at least tries to stay positive unlike other Smarks
The thumbnail is classic 😆
Austin at SummerSlam 99. Didn't want to drop it to HHH, hence y Foley was the middleman
You dug back to Bearcat Wright on the list instead of the most famous "that doesn't work for me" Bret Hart at Survivor Series??
SUPER COOL, DIDN'T KNOW SOME OF THIS
I heard it was Triple H who thought Roman should hold the title for one more year, and Vince agreed. That was when Triple H was running things but was he REALLY running things, or was Vince??
HHH was running it but still asked Vince for advice.
Jeez, give Tessa a break for once. We get it, you don't like her.
Bob Backland to Hogan via The Iron Shiek
Sable also 'forgot' to bring the title with her
The 3,000th version of this video
How could ECW have a legal team when they couldn't PAY mike awesome 🤔
No one every brings up Bret Hart. Didn't want to put Shawn over on his way out.
Didn't The Fabulous Moolah hold her belt for almost 20 years because she was the booker?
Poor Andy Murray has been in therapy for the trauma of Tessa Blanchard returning to TNA. He's a sensitive soul.
How much do you charge him to live in your head? Based on your posting history, it seems like you’ve got quite the thing for him. If you have a crush on him, tell him. It’s almost 2025, it’s ok to be yourself. It’s probably really dark in that closet.
Why is this guy taking about Andy? He ain’t even in this vid!
Actually haven’t seen or heard Andy in a while
Please don't talk about Andy Murray the most boring and depressing person in the world
@@braxriverboys I don’t watch WhatCulture as much due to Andy Murray switched to Wrestlelamia but I’ve noticed Andy Murray’s homosexual fans are missing him in the comments
How Vince treated Vader even after what HBK had done to him was just dirty. But yea what HBK did to him was pure selfish. HBK could've got the title back and he was lol. My god thank god the locker room and overall morale are better now
Roman didn't need a 3 year reign
Beat 3 rumble winners
Unified it in a 3peat with brock
Barely defended
Cody should've won the ec in 2023 then the rumble in 2024
But no
It was a awesome reign though...
Jobberdust finished the story with an L in 2023.
Even worse champion than Jinder Mahal.
Bret and Hogan, tough call who will be first on the list
Bret didn't even make the list. Kind of shocked. :O
@@47ness5Don't be. This video was made by a mark.
HHH at WM 19??
Cena saved the bullet
I’m guessing this is just a list about Shawn Michaels?
HHH at WM19 to Booker T?
Hulk Hogan and Roman Reigns should be on this list for sure 🤬.
Definitely agree. People fail to see how Roman was known to pull backstage politics
A prime example is to why I can't stand Sable! I hope she never gets inducted into the WWE HOF! But WWE put Luna in their WWE HOF Legacy Wing (whatever that is) but not the main HOF. Sad WWE continues to disrespect Luna
Amen Brother, and I hope Rena and Brock go to hell together alongside Vince McMahon.
Ed-Ward carpenter 🤦♂️
Mike awesome was the best wrestler that never got a good push
And Tesa is back… go figure.
Oh brother!
Luna deserved way better then wwe
Roman Reigns... take your pick.
Talk about karma what hbk did to Vader ended up happing to him with Hogan 😂
Wait, no mention to what brought the Montreal Screwjob? Bret refused to drop the title to Shawn which prompted Vince to screw Brett in Montreal.
Actually they had an agreement for Brett to drop the title to Shawn on Raw right after the Montreal show, but Vince being terrified that what he did with Ric Flair would be done to him, panicked and we got the screw job.
@matthewrosenthal753 the agreement was made after Bret refused to drop the title in Montreal. Then yes, what you just described happened.
@@ArghalladGaming Actually the Agreement was in place before Montreal. It was made Vince went to Brett and said I can’t honor the 20 year contract we signed go to WCW. They made a deal to get the title off Brett that didn’t involve him losing in Canada. Vince was so afraid that what he had done in the early 90’s with Ric Flair and the Big Gold belt, was going to happen to him. He reneged on the deal and we got the screw job.
Bret wouldn't lose to Shawn because Shawn told Bret he wouldn't lose to him. Bret wanted to just hand the belt over on RAW the night after and leave on top. Vince told him if that's what you want, then screwed him. Eric Bischoff has said that even if he wanted to have Bret take the belt to WCW, they were already tied up in a ton of litigation with WWF over the Razor and Diesel infringement and other stuff and the Turner lawyers wouldn't have allowed it.
@ Brett wouldn’t have done that anyway. The screw job occurred because Vince was afraid it would happen. Also Brett didn’t want to lose in Canada.
*Hogan x 10*
😆🤣
John Cena and his infamous backstage politics. Which people fail to bring up
Vader should of won
Ah this video just screams Montreal Screwjob
Stop saying the word FIGHT
