I have one fixed floater with the shape of a croissant after the collapse of my vitreous.
I have one slice of pineapple 4 to 5 times a week for a year.
The floater lost most of its shape and only remains two points.
I don´t know what influence had on the small dose of bromelain but I`m getting better.
As I know bromelain don't dissolve collagen but it slows blood clotting, perhaps it may reduce collagen fibers clumps

Thanks for your video, Dr. Tai.
A couple of years ago I had a round floater in my right eye, I was alarmed as it was severe. Through the research of my own, I deduced that it was from my optic nerve. I researched ways to treat my condition and learned that sucking out the floater to include the entire gel sac and then replacing the fluid was an option. This seemed like a last resort for me so I began eating pineapples. I eat pineapples every day for three weeks and the floater disappeared. I recently had the same thing happen in my left eye. I went back to the pineapple and it's been a week. The floater has diminished by 60 or so percent and I will continue to eat pineapples until it's completely gone. I still have no floaters in my right eye. I turn 60 this month. Due to my personal experience, I'll continue to enjoy pineapples for the rest of my life.

Nice video Dr. Tai, keep going..! 👩‍⚕️
My understanding of bromelain is that it is a proteolytic enzyme which is an enzyme that clears out "damaged proteins, including collagen" from body tissues that contain damaged proteins and collagen, whereby, if you supplement with collagen, eat collagen rich foods (and/or foods rich in building blocks of collagen), then the damaged collagen that is cleared out is replaced, where needed, as appropriate.
Bromelain is sold separately as supplement at health food stores, and my understanding is you take it on empty stomach with water if you want to experience proteolytic enzyme benefits, or take it with food if you want to use as a digestive enzyme.
Also, bromelain in pineapple is mostly found in the stem of the pineapple, not much in the pineapple flesh and juice, so supplementing with bromelain will get you to higher therapeutic dose than eating pineapple flesh..! But don't stop eating pineapple, as it is very healthy and relatively low on glycemic index..!
The lack of clinical study funding for additional studies on this topic most likely because you can't patent pineapple... and big pharma is not quick to fund big/expensive clinical studies with treatments that can't be patented (e.g. food). Thus the major downfall of clinical research field that focuses only on pharmaceutical breakthroughs (instead of food based wellness), so they can patent lab created pharmaceuticals, make megabucks, then treat and manage patients with them until the cows come home... paying off their condo in Bali... 😟
Of course seek the advice of informed health care professional before taking any supplements..!
    Blessings🙌🙏💞

      @heartobefelt Год назад

Dont worry , If pharma discover clear evidence that pineapple cures floaters they will publish a report that Bromelain causes terrorist activity and they will get it banned , synthesise it , patent it and sell the treatment for $ 8000 per program. (kidding okay)

A great video. I had posterior vitreous detachment and a retinal horseshoe tear which was tacked down. There are different classes of floaters. One, are the vitreous gel floaters caused by collagen clumping during syneresis or formation of liquefied vitreous. A more serious type are caused by posterior vitreous detachment…hyaloid membrane surrounding the vitreous pulls from the retina, and parts of that can cause more obstructing floaters. If the hyaloid pulls too hard, causing traction and visual flashing lights, the retina can tear. Many hundreds of dark tiny floaters can accompany this. Flashing lights, dark curtains, and loss of acuity signals possible retinal tears. These can generally be tacked down right away with a laser…a barrier is formed to prevent further tearing.

Thank you for the information. As a kid I used to distract myself during long car rides trying to look at my floaters directly. Which was impossible since as my gaze shifted the floaters floated away. Good times. I rarely notice them these days unless I actively look for them. The first time, I experienced eye floaters is about 20 years ago (I’m 67 now and retired). Over the years I have seen up to 5 floaters in my left eye. I didn’t had a healthy style of living and had a too much stress work related and too less sleep - constantly exhausted, not to talk about alcohol consumption. Anyways, my live got more in order, less stress, healthy eating and more sleep over the last 5 years 🙂
The floaters are almost gone, I only see 2 sometimes but very transparent compared to 15-20 years ago.
I won’t draw a conclusion out of that, but since my life became calmer, my floaters may decided to hide somewhere away out of the field of view 😉 from my perspective - they almost disappeared 🤔

Thanks for your video, Dr. Tai! You made a lot of sense! I had cataract surgery (eye #2), on July 28, and have seen floaters in that eye ever since. I was told by the surgical team that the floaters where normal and would resolve in time. Hopefully that's true, as the floaters are annoying. At least I don't have flashes, so that's a good thing. Oh, and by the way, I won't be rushing out for pineapples! Thanks, again!

I had my cataract surgery about 4 years ago and soon after I started getting the blurry effects of a floater. One day while laying at the park looking up at the sky I could see the floater drift right in front of my vision. I define it like the size and shape of Prince Edward Island and it has been a source of aggravation ever since.
Since I am completely blind in my other eye due to injury, this has become a huge frustration in my life.
My 2 eye surgeons I have seen, the one who did my surgery and another for a second opinion seemed to completely ignore me as if I was seeing things.
Which I am, seeing things and obviously they can't unless with the procedure the doctor on here suggested.

They are often sold as digestive enzymes, or bromelain. I'm not sure the effectiveness of the extracts. But I can attest that when I eat a lot of papaya or pineapple helps in general for any injury or bruises. If you're an athlete, not a bad idea to reduce inflammation on off days.

I have to admit, I was a little skeptical of your presentation and your own skepticism concerning pineapple helping with floater problems until I listened to your objections which do make sense. The clincher was when you spoke of being a nutritionist and proponent of natural remedies. You seem to be an eye doctor who shoots it straight.
I had cataract surgeries in both eyes, and last week I had to have a YAG capsulotomy in my right eye because it had began to become so blurred that I couldn't see even with glasses from that eye. It was like trying to look through a shower glass. After the procedure, I was able to see tack sharp from my right eye for 2 days, but experienced severe hazing problems and even spots from the laser when I would look at a white or near white wall.
I have been off the Prednisolone for 3 days now, and for the most part, my vision has came back to 90% of what I was seeing for 2 days post procedure. Hopefully I will get that wonderful tack sharp crispness that I enjoyed for 2 days as my eye finishes recovering, and I was told that it could take about a week for the side effects to completely disappear.
Good and informative presentation here. Thank you.
