    Have you ever experienced floaters or flashing lights? I have a few floaters myself, so if you ever see me swatting an imaginary fly, you know why :)

    • @MicheleLeeMD
      @MicheleLeeMD  2 года назад +2

      @Said Liban I would recommend that at your earliest convenience you get an eye exam with dilation, and let your eye doctor know what happened to you. If you get new flashes, curtains, loss of vision then visit your eye doctor urgently. Hope that helps!

    • @MicheleLeeMD

      @Said Liban Probably no need to worry at the moment. I highly recommend you get an eye exam at some point with a dilated exam just to make sure. Talk to your eye doctor about your concerns about flashes. Hope everything turns out well!

      I think as we age. We need to take supplements to sustain our dying cells in our body. Two months ago , I experience sudden flashes on my right eye. Alarmed at first, I immediately buy over the counter eye supplements (fish oil and lutein). It works but there is few instances that it sparingly recurs. I search for more eye supplements online until i finally order two competing products - (Sight Care and Vision Alive Max). So far my vision become clearer and the old flashes totally gone. Added bonus is that I am experiencing uninterrupted sleep for the first time of my life.
      I also bought Sugar Defender for my pancreatic health and V.F for added stamina. It works as advertized

    I see hundreds in my eyes, a couple of darker ones. Most are clear and are annoying. My eye doctor told me that there’s really nothing that can be done and just to monitor them. I’ve had them for years and I’m 23 lol. They just float around and we coexist together lol

    I am 63 and today have been experiencing off and on sudden streaks of light at the periphery of my left eye - and also a few (very few) floaters. I am nearsighted and so I gather the chance of a retinal tear or worse is higher. What I don't know is how 'immediate' is the 'get attention immediately' I see in virtually everything on the subject. It's late evening and a Sunday (off topic, but why does every medical situation occur on a Sunday?): is this a go-to-the ER now, situation or a call your doctor tomorrow situation? My husband had a retinal detachment that happened very fast - two days from onset of symptoms and he almost lost his vision in that eye - had to have a schleral buckle put in. I will take a chance and see my eye doc tomorrow, I guess.

    I had a flash and a hairline floater in my eye. I went to moorfields eye hospital in London. After examination they said I had cataract ps in both eyes. They dilated my eyes and that night my head was exploding and my eyeballs in severe pain. I returned the next day and they said the pressure in my eyes after dilation had caused acute angle closure confirmed diagnosis Bilateral. I was almost blind for 2 days. Locked in white fog. They performed emergency surgery and l was kept in for 4 days, was given drops. Since then I’ve developed so many floaters. Everyday I took the drops the floaters would double up in amount. I’ve since had I cataract surgery done one eye and the floaters are so many and it’s also blurry vision. I’m still taking drops and it’s been over 2 weeks already. Is there hope for me and should I continue with the 2nd op for the other eye. Before I went to moorfiled my vision was very clear except for that hairline floater that had occurred. Hello, Doctor! Thank you for the informative video. Yesterday morning I noticed if a look as far left as I can then quickly look forward, I get a sudden arc-like flash in the far left periphery of vision. As the day progressed this condition got better but not gone. Today I woke up with the condition similar to yesterday morning, but now I have a couple floaters in my left eye. Throughout my life (I'm 65 years old) I have experienced annoying floaters once in a while that have gone away after a day or two. But this flashing after suddenly looking forward after looking far left has never happened before. From watching your video it sounds like it might be a vitreous separation. Should I give it a few days to see if it goes away, or go to see my optometrist?

      @@darianprotho6622 From the research I've done since this post, I doubt you have anything to worry about. 48 years old seems to be a bit young for this detachment to occur but it's not unusual. I would suggest you see an ophthalmologist, however, just to make sure you haven't torn your retina.

      @@mje1625 thank you. I visited an ophthalmologist this June and she told me that except cataract everything was ok. I told her that when I woke up with eyes still closed I see in the darkness a lot of thin lines like something broken and the flashes I told you before when I change my glance quickly from sides to frontal. But she said eyes nerve was good so far. She asked me whether I see lightning ⚡? If so I should visit her again. I don't know whether I imagine it after she mentioned it, in the darkness when I wake I sometimes see a lightning shape that move around. 😩
      There are times when I think that I should let go and accept whatever happen, if I am going to be blind then be it, no need to struggle but sometimes I think that at least I need to do something before it happened. It kind of push me to the religious side of life. No attachment. I know that is out of topic but I am really helpless and hopeless.
      Sometimes I even hope that miracle happens and somehow my eyes will cure themselves.

    I got a question I can’t got to a doctor for today but I’ve be experiencing flashing in the eyes in the shape of a croissant in my peripheral vision and on and off for about 2hours I’ve had around 3flashes events that’s only due down when I experience pain on the left side of head. And they seem sort of color through a pretty bland.

    This was helpful I'm seeing floaters when I go out in the sun. Or when I am in a place where a light is brighter. I haven't seen any bright lights through my eyes. Mine come & go off & on.

      It really depends. Most people need 2-3 days to see well, some can see well 1 day later, and some need as long as 1 month to fully recover. Hope that helps!
