  • Does pineapple reduce eye floaters? There was a study done that looked promising, so I thought I would give it a go! I have been eating 300g of pineapple everyday for 3 months now, and here are my results so far.

    🤓 A little about my eyesight: 🤓
    I have had glasses for astigmatism since I was 7 years old, but I only needed them for specific circumstances, like reading blackboards or night driving (not when I was 7, obviously).
    At the age of 22 I landed an office job, and with my lovely new money I bought a smart phone. 6 months later, I had myopia (also known as short sightedness or near sightedness) and had to wear glasses full-time.
    My prescription has been going up since then, and I have been freaking out as I sit back and watch my eyesight deteriorate, feeling helpless and scared.
    I was up to -3 in my left eye, and -2.5 in my right eye when I discovered Jake Steiner and the EndMyopia method.
    I am still only a few months in, but already I am seeing at almost -2.00 in my left eye -1.75 in my right eye. Small changes, but any improvement is amazing when my eyes have only been deteriorating for the last 10 years.
    I am loving knowing more about eyesight and how eyes function. It's fascinating, and learning so much feels empowering. I love that I no longer feel helpless about my vision. I have also quit my smartphone so I could get over my screen addiction. I even bought a Nokia to get me out of temptation's way! Since doing this, I have been making progress with my vision, but also have regained so much of my life and time and perspective, so this vision journey is definitely having positive knock-on effects in my life as a whole.

    About 4 months back I started seeing a lot of floaters in both eyes immediately went to see a doctor he said my retina is absolutely fine anyway I started intermittent fasting and ate pineapple everyday it's been almost 80 days now and my floaters have become lighter(Meaning I can see through them much better than before). The pineapple definitely does something to these floaters I certainly feel much better now. I think maintaining BMI + daily exercise + fasting in the mornings + pineapple everyday in moderation + avoiding white sugar or processed sugar is key to decrease eye floater anyway I will be continuing the pineapple till the end of this year

    Thank you for sharing your knowledge on this condition. I'm suffering from this condition since 2007 and I'm 33 right now. I had medications done earlier but it didn't help. Later I accepted it and started living my life normally as it never caused other issues. It was very difficult to educate the doctors about this condition earlier. I have done night shifts for 11 years along with this condition. I would recommend others to take care of their eyes similar to other body parts.

  • @ismann9148
    @ismann9148 3 года назад +11

    I began seeing very small (though numerous) circular floaters quite suddenly. Doctor said my eyes look completely fine with no risk of retinal detachment and they're just a normal process of aging. I began taking bromelain as well as hyaluronic acid and they seem to be slightly less noticeable and more translucent. Some days are better than others. I'd say what helped me most is reducing screen brightness levels and wearing sunglasses a lot more. I see how many draw their floaters and notice how large they are and feel thankful mine are so small but sometimes looks like I'm seeing through a spotty window after hard water drys on it.

    • @GemilyMez
      @GemilyMez  3 года назад

      I can relate to that - the spotty window. And as you say, some time is worse, some time is better. Glad you found some things that help! I must say, I am suspicious of screens for all sorts of things, so the brightness trick you suggest sounds like a pretty good idea.

    @susie5254 9 месяцев назад

    I think it's so cool that you mapped your floaters. Obviously, it's not perfect, but maybe practicing doing such a thing can give perspective to a change. I was told I had a cataract after I asked since at night when I'd read, it was a bit blurry in one eye. I started eating two chunks of frozen pineapple every day. After about two months, I believe that blurriness at night has gone away. That being said, I was afraid to continue with the daily pineapple because I learned that it destroys collagen (that's the theory of how it gets rid of the cataract/floaters) but I am afraid of losing collagen in the rest of my eye and in other areas of my face and body. So until there is more scientific understanding in this area of whether the pineapple theoretically targets ONLY the bad stuff, I'm not going to chance getting more wrinkles and other things that happen when you lose collagen.

    UPDATE DEC 2023
    FIRST OFF I HAD MY EYES THOROUGHLY CHECKED BY A RETINOLOGIST AFTER GOING TO 2 CRAZY OPTOMETRIST THAT DIDN'T KNOW CRAP.
    So I went to this doctor and she had said I had perfect retina optic nerve in the beginning of a cataract but no glaucoma or macro. That was good to know so I didn't have to worry any further now I just had to focus on the cure. I use turmeric with black pepper and ginger in a gummy form it was something I tried in addition to the other things and then when I stopped taking them and still took the gummies and I took about nine a day I found out that I was healing with just that alone and so I have been taking them for a year and I can now see perfect! I hope this helps other people I think the doctors are scamming people but I did find that one on a doctor who I was glad to see cared about me enough not to do a surgery on me for no reason
    Pineapple has enzymes and sugar. I ate pineapple but as well I added eye vites and additional enzymes. The floaters are decreased but not sure which thing did it.

    Is there a treatment for the ophthalmologist please

    • @GemilyMez
      @GemilyMez  3 года назад

      For floaters, I think the ophthalmologist would be able to offer a surgery to drain the eye of the vitreous gel and replace it with a synthetic replacement, or a laser to destroy the floaters. Both are pretty serious approaches, with some risk, so really only for people whose floaters are really ruining their quality of life. Besides that, advice would be to ignore them. What is your opinion about YAG vitreolysis?

    • @GemilyMez
      @GemilyMez  3 года назад

      There are always risks with medical procedures. I am not sure how likely it risks are, but when it comes to eyes and vision, if you are the one person in 100, in 1000, in 100000... The result could be devastating. So since I can ignore my floaters, it is not worth the risk for me. For someone who can't stand their floaters, whose quality of life is severely affected by them, who experiences them as a kind of torture, then maybe for them the risks are absolutely worth it. So, it all depends whether it is worth the risk to each person. Risks include elevated intraocular pressure leading to glaucoma; cataracts, including posterior capsule defects requiring cataract surgery; retinal tear; retinal detachment; retinal hemorrhages; scotomas; and an increased number of floaters (according to pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/28750116/ )

    t would be interesting to see how many people in the study had a worsening of floaters. I read the article many months ago and ate three junks of pineapple a day for two months. My floaters were small spots at the time. In that two months, six weeks apart, both my eyes had vitreous gel detaching from my retina and now my floaters are huge! Plus I ended up with a bloody lesion in my stomach from the excessive acid I was consuming. So maybe there is some ingredient in pineapple that affects the vitreous gel quality. But maybe not always for the best.

      @@GemilyMez Well, I am 66 years old. Every relative on both sides of my family wears glasses. So bad eyes are inherited. But the large floaters are a major reason I will be retiring now. I repair electronic music equipment and can no longer focus on fine work and reading circuit schematics. Also my photo-phobia, which manifests as migraines triggered by bright light, is now a daily occurrence. Just turning on the first light after waking in the morning starts the sparkly blur in my vision that then creates a low level migraine pain behind my eyes. You will know you are old when new health problems just suddenly appear and they never heal.

      @@keyboardtek I have the exact same experience! I bought three bottles of bromelain last year and started taking it daily. I also started eating a lot of pineapples before the purchase. Then 1~2 months later I noticed the increase of floaters mobility. After a few days I noticed that those are actually GIANT floaters (one in each eye). Early in this year I even got peripheral flashes and more pepper-like floaters under stronger lighting condition. I stopped taking bromelain long ago but they never go away : (
      I went to ophthalmologists for check-up and they didn’t see problems except thinner retina (just because of high myopia).
