Thank you for this great information. I know of someone who was diagnosed with narrow angle glaucoma and had to have the laser used to put holes in each eye. According to her, the prep was the worse part...the procedure only took less than a minute. I had to take her back in two weeks to get the other eye done, then a follow up to make sure the drainage holes were still there.

The fact is all of these doctors do not have a clue they only know how to do their specialty and don't even think about anything other than that. they never mentioned the side effects of anything nor the risk and complications associated with their Specialty Services. they trying to make you think that a cataract surgery is simple and easy as getting your tooth pulled yet I lost my vision due to cataract surgery and I have read many accounts of other people experiencing the same thing developing glaucoma and optic nerve damage. the glaucoma doctors hold out no hope other than to give you drops the whole medical system is broken and ridiculous😢

    FYI
Preservatives in most Glaucoma drops and glaucoma drops with Timolol can damage your eyes severely after some years of use. Unfortunately there is little documentation on this, my experience is that they have destroyed over half of my Myobian glands, resulting in severe dry eye.
Most Glaucoma doctors do not address this serious side affect. Please donot discount this essential information if you are a glaucoma patient!

I have glaucoma, but my ophthalmologist didn’t say which kind it was. I had complications when I had cataract surgery. I had inflammation in my eye, and the lens that they implanted is stuck to my iris, as a result of cataract surgery I have anterior capsule opacification. The cataract doctor said there is no chance of using laser on my eye to get my vision back, so now I am blind.

I am now 70. My glaucoma was detected in 1999-2000. I was in job then. Doctor advised me to put drops for 5 time in a day. I was working in night shift , from 18-20to7-00 next day .i managed drops on duty also. Till my retirement ie 2014 my vision was better. I wandered lot . Meanwhile I cataract surgery. Also dr told me to have drops 3 time inspite of 5. I did it. Now from last 1 or2 year I am feeling that my vision is decreasing. I have no sugar.very mild BP,no other issues. I am confused what to do next , because Dr told me plainly my vision may go anytime but I am hopeful it will not

I am aged 78 and have had Glaucoma for over 25 years. My Sister although 10 years old than me, has been totally blind for the past 7 years from Glaucoma. I have been taking Cosopt eye drops twice a day and Xlatan eye drops last thing at night for the past 17 years. My Glaucoma is getting slowly worse even though my eye pressures are reading 10 or 11. My visual fields are gradually worsening and I have the beginnings of a Cataract in one eye. I have read that there are capsules available that slowly encourage T-cells to begin optic nerve repairs - is this just a SCAM please?

Thank you for the video Dr. I have hyperopia (+2 in both eyes), and a little astigmatism and strabismus. I have recently been prescribed Wellbutrin (Bupropion). Is it contraindicated in my case due to the higher chance of acute angle glaucoma?

I had narrow angle glaucoma and thanks to regular check ups.I always hated drops that dilated my eyes and now I know why. Can this type of glaucoma ever come back if I had that type of surgery before?

Even after LPI laser procedure, acute angle closure glaucoma may still occur due to the growth of the natural
Lens in the eye, but LPI procedure lowers the risk considerably. Cataract surgery is a more permanent solution to prevent angle closure attacks.

I have had closed angled glaucoma diagnosed as an emergency December 2015. 23rd December. Christmas Eve i had laser surgery on both eyes. This January 2024 i have had cataract surgery on the most affected eye. This was also done to open up the narrow angle. This has been a success so far. Im now awaiting cataract surgery for the other eye. I want to inform others that these proceedures are generally highly successful and almost pain free. Well it was for me. My eye sight is amazing in the corrected eye. It is far far better than the so called previosly better eye.
