Here at Calvey Homestead, we are trying to become as self-sufficient as possible. We grow a garden every year and raise a good portion of our own meat. We also try to support local farms as much as possible. We love cooking, canning, and preserving. We are lucky enough to have other family members who live this lifestyle as well. We currently live in a 43 foot fifth wheel camper that is stationary on my parents’ farm. Follow us for a glimpse into our happy homestead!

Oh man i hope you feel better soon. Lots of rest and fluids with vitamin c. The pomonas is awesome, i do no sugar jams and it works really well with that pectin. Monterey cheese is a great cheese base for homemade mac n cheese. I’ve enjoyed you’re videos keep up the great work and feel better soon♥🇨🇦

Thank you so much! I’ve been taking my elderberry syrup too. I need to get some fire cider going for next time.
I’m so excited to try the pomonas! I’m going to try to make some cherry jam with it.
Thank you so much for watching!! It is so appreciated! ☺️

You can actually dry your sourdough. It's super easy. Just spread extra active starter on parchment and let it dry. You can also use a dehydrator on a low setting. I keep mine as a back up and give to friends that way. If you want even more to backup you can freeze it as well.

I definitely need to dehydrate some. I’m scared to lose it. I made my sourdough starter about 5 years ago and it’s pretty resilient but as a “just in case”, I’d like to put some back for safe keeping.

I get another brand of shampoo bar from azure too, I found that if I do a cider vinegar in water rinse afterwards then it prevents a buildup feel. I think it helps to balance the ph of the hair afterwards too. Hope it works for you❤️🙏🏼🇺🇸

Ooooo! I’ve heard of that! How exactly do you do it? Just pour acv into hair and rinse? Do I need to add anything to it? I’ve heard ACV can act as a conditioner as well.

@@CalveyHomestead I take a pint mason jar, put in no more than 1/2 inch of ACV and fill with water. Pour evenly over all hair after rinsing shampoo, and I leave it on for a few minutes before I just rinse it off, easy peasy ( I leave a small bottle of ACV and an empty pint jar in the shower so I don’t forget)
