I need to appreciate that theres so many great people out there watching. your a star. thank you J.C. for the positive vibes it fuels me, I feed off it.
Hi Jon thanks for your helpful tips. I'm 70 and just started detailing my car and love doing it. My friends and family think I'm nuts. Girl Power its not all guys..
Yeah I’m 61 and I just started detailing my 07 and 08 TL Type S using ONR followed by Turtle wax ceramic hybrid spray and following 1 week later by Turtle wax Graphene flex wax spray👌👌. And people stare while I’m driving 👍
I tried moonlight for the first time in October 2020 after watching some of your old videos. It truly works, easy to apply, buffs beautifully without streaks and lasts. It’s in a different league to stuff like meguiars hybrid ceramic wax, or turtle flex graphene, or the TW ceramic stuff.
I know it say no wait time after applying but this is what I noticed. I put the 303 Nono Graphene coating on my 71 Chevelle and the paint was smooth but not slick “at all”. My car is in the garage 90% of the time. After applying, I took the car out for a drive for a few hours and it was 90* plus outside then back in the garage After about 5 days sitting in the garage I noticed the paint was slicker. Then I put the 303 Graphene detailer on and it made it slicker but I was still expecting better. Then after another 5 days sitting in the garage OMG!! It’s like glass now!! So far I absolutely love this stuff. How long will it last?……probably a long time on my Chevelle it’s not a daily driver.
I'm so glad I bought enough Fusso to last several lifetimes before it was phased out for the new formula. It even outlasts some consumer grade ceramic coatings in my experience.
im so gutted i didn't.... thanks jon been using the old one on my boats for years from your rec the new one is already showing black streaking in some places 3 months in.
What would us regular consumers have done without you guys. You are heroes. Thank you for helping us choose the best products on the market and thank you for your fantastic efforts.🙏😎
As an avid user of TW flex wax, I think the two TW on the right were gone long ago. They definitely failed first, but I don't like adding layers and layers of product, and I wash once a month ...so it works real well for me. I use it as a topper and it lasts ~4 weeks (when applied as a rinse off) which is perfect for my schedule.
In regards to the TW75 wax, my initial review showed it to be stupidly resistant to chemical attack... BUT, I've been running a long term test on a "real life" daily used car and its failing miserably after only two months. The update vids were absolutely fine until about 1 month, then the degradation happened quickly!
Funny you should mention this because I bought it based on the rave reviews. Mine started to fade at around the 6weeks mark. Think il be going back to fusso from now on
@@danielw2236 Jon touched on it in his video, but I'll re-iterate, chemical resistance tests vs real life longevity are two totally different things, and the former doesnt equal the latter.
your preaching to the converted here chaps Ive been saying this for 5 years. when a product is freshly cured and its got the fresh film on.. they can withstand a beating. (providing they been applied properly and the detergents used are not leaving cationic films). But this is not the same as putting it on a car and what a car gets subjected to. Theres so many variable both around application but how you test it, different things can happen. Ive also seen different results over similiar tests. seen all sorts of wierd stuff. but generally these tests give some sort of vague finger in the wind idea, or theres a loose translation. But theres also around issues with people thinking products have failed when they have not. we also only measure though trying to monitor hydrophobicity. So hydrophobic materials are at a huge advantage. If you can figure out a way to back bone car protection products with inherently hydrophobic material people will love your product because they will perceive it to be lasting long to a product which lasts longer but you cant actually see this because its not hydrophobic. like the first wave of ceramic coatings which came out, look dead after the first wash because its not hydrophobic. but the material will be on the car for 2 years.
@@DetailingandtheBeast of course, still I trust the professional views when I comes to new products otherwise I’d spend a small fortune on every product released trying to find one I like and the only judge will be yourself once exposed to the real world conditions. And to be fair my car gets battered going up and down the motorway everyday, but in comparison to the fusso it wasn’t what I expected
The fact that the old, expired bottle of moonlight continued to work for so long is an absolute credit to the quality of the product. Same with the old fusso coat, brilliant testing! RIP OG moonlight bottle.
Moonlight is a light ceramic coating... As you need to polish it to remove from the paint. At this point I see no point in using it comparing to a real ceramic coating, even for the price it comes here where i live...
Reminds me of the punchline from a joke that was quite famous when I was at school - 'wild green hairy lipped squid' 😂 The older ones amongst viewers may remember that one!
Another cracking vid 👍 I'd love to a see a video on new TAC moonlight vs a four year old bottle. Some ideas for testing the products; You have a simulated road grime, what about a simulated bird poo? How about cooking these products with a strong UV lamp for a few days or a week and seeing how they hold up? How about water spot resistance? Your testing is better than most other videos but I still think there are real world variables that we could include to make them more accurate. Lastly, have you considered a video using a test panel with one LSP on different standards of prep? You could do multiple sections; one washed, one coated, one decon washed, one polished and panel wiped and then see how the prep compromises the product lifespan. Keep up the good work 👍
Good test my friend. I’ve used all the recent TW products. They’re not very good here in the southern US where it gets very humid. I put the new TW paste on my trunk(boot) lid and it was gone after 2 months. Their Seal n Shine and first Hybrid Solution Ceramic Spray are far better. The 303 is tough but not slick at all. It does give a long lasting gloss but not super hydrophobic or slick. My neighbor brought me a paste wax called Yellow Wax W-41 to put on his car. Three months later it’s still as slick and hydrophobic as the day I applied it.
Thank you, Jon, it good to see Fusso won the test for durability. In one of your videos, you said coating is a problem when you have to have the car repainted for most consumers. They have to make sure the paint shop prepare the paint for the repaint. they have to remove all of the coating on the repair area
Brilliant video Jon great products and they really did take a beating there and held up well so its good to know that a wash will not kill of your LSP.
The 303 Graphene is the best practice product in this comparison. I would double wash the car, use Mother's California Gold Clay bar , and then the 303 Graphene spray. This method works wonders on black paint. I own a couple of weekend cars that are both black, 1990 Chevy Corvette drop top, and a 1995 Mercedes Benz E 320 they look absolutely amazing.
Having just used old Fusso yesterday, im glad to see it was the clear winner! my decon was a wash, fallout remover, tar remover, clay bar, machine polish, BH cleanser fluid, than finally the applciation of the old Fusso, cannot wait to see how it performs. next weel i'll be using the soft 99 glass compound followed by glaco max on the glass roof and rear and wide glass (nothing on the windscreen for me due to previous wiper judder nightmares lol)
Wash and chemical torture tests give you an idea on how a product may hold up but near impossible to duplicate real world durability. In my area 4 months of salt and road film wears on sealants. I always look forward to your videos! Keep them coming John!!
Jon how did you know moonlight expired by date in bottle or appearance or performance? My bottle did a weird cloudy thin when I most recently used it, it then went back to clear again. Was weird, not sure if sun or temp change did it. Have you tried or reviewed TAC system one?
great review. I have to say that when I do my car, if there's one thing that will send me bezerck is a spray bottle that's broken, leaking or busted. AND it is such that I refuse to buy Meguiars because of the cheap bottles they package their product in. The autoglym bottles and triggers are so durable and reliable by comparison. While the products are amazing, at the end of the day, if they're not dispensable they're a waste of time
Thank you for this video Jon, i was actually looking for a durability video with normal, non-coating products. Thank you! I love old fusso🥰, I'm gonna miss it when mine runs out. I've ordered carpro lite yesterday to try to replace fusso. I wanted to apply a wheel coating to my wheels a few months ago, I hadn't driven that car much over winter and had fusso on the wheels. I tried and tried but just gave in cause i couldn't strip it to put the coating on 😂😂😂
I've just finished polishing my black e92 bmw with the DA8 and turtle wax regenerate and I'm overwhelmed with the results from your recommendation Jon 👍🏼. I was going to buy some Flex wax with graphene but after seen this I think I'll use Meguires CW as I've still got half a bottle .
I hear people use a sealant or sio2 ceramic spray after using a graphene wax is this worthwhile as if the graphene is better is there any point and will ceramic actually bond to wax in any case?
Great work John :) Have you ever tested the Dodo Juice sealant-waxes, like Black Widow or Shinecraft? I wonder if these will be similar to the Double Speed wax for longevity.
I can see your Moonlight is going bad it’s so cloudy now, mine is a little older and nowhere near that cloudy. It it’s a testament to the quality of that product. The real question is can you top Moonlight with the Flex Wax ? The plot thickens….
Hiya Jon. I've just got a tub of the new fusso coat. What would you say is the best wax you've used? I've always used DSW but Fusso has mental reviews.
Farecla I use for compounds and polish, been used by paintshops for years. Their retail line i feel has been translated badly or presume the customer is not informed, as they confuse the heck out of me! I mean whats the difference between paint renovator and paint rtestorer and do they both have abrasives.... who knows. Stick to G3,G10 or the new G360 and then use Gyeon or BH for everything else for your waxes and washing.
Why is the old Fusso in the line-up, since you would think it has been phased out of the way, since there is a new one. Or can I buy the old one a year from now?
Hi Jon, really enjoyed watching that I think I'm going to have to invest in some Soft99 fusso wax for the winter months and maybe use the gyeon as a topper as it will give it that nice finish and you can maintain that with there new ceramic detailer or bathe+ Any reason you didn't use AG UHD.
Hi mate, just corrected my car and have given it 2 coats of 303 do I just leave it now or could I top it off with Built hamber double speed wax? Enjoyed the vid very much thanks
Not sure why the 303 did so bad. Works great on a real vehicle. Hmmm. Great video. Keep it up man. Might get a different topper for my ceramic coating... The coating on my car went to amazing from really good.
Told ya’ the Fusso was a better comparison against the Gyeon Wax! 😝 It’s cheaper, it’s way more chemical resistance and from what I’ve seen in video (I haven’t seen the gyeon wax in person, but do have extensive experience with fusso), it’s also slightly more hydrophobic! I suggested it and you said stay tuned but I didn’t know you’d have it up this quickly! Glad you changed the intro too, you don’t sound like a beggar anymore. That starting every video out with pleeeease subscribe was very off putting IMO and you’ve done VERY well to have changed it. Thought you’d put the Gyeon and Fusso next to each other since they’re both based on the same material, but I’ll settle for this :P
Hi Feronsic Detailing Channel, I'm wondering if I can use the Soft99 Fusso coat (new formula I suppose, as the older one can't be found anywhere?) as a first applied protection layer, and then combine it with the Turtle Wax 53342 Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Waxspray for the more glossy effects. Would that work? Would that even make sense, or is it just a waste of time and product? Thanks!
put fusso down and you are down. wash car, use a detail spray to help dry it. in 3-6 months time apply more wax. the ceramic product is more of an alternative durable spray ceramic wax type thing.. but fusso does not need this on top.
well it depends. it can be this simple. Wash the car. panel wipe car. apply protection. And that can be good in all scenarios for 99% of the world. But if your into detailing you wash the car. Then you feel it and check for contamination. if paint is rough and it has tar film and fallout over it. We then decon. Same with polishing it. If paintwork is dull and has swirls we polish it. Then we join back in with what the rest of the world does. after polish with degrease panel wipedown and apply LSP. So difference is detailing potentually adds if required "decon and machine polishing" steps after wash and before LSP stage.
Finish Kare fk1000p good option too. Nowadays called bwm101 or something like that. Really good stuff. Can’t say which one is better old fusso or fk1000p in my own use.
Thank god I just found this video I found some on eBay I went ahead and ordered only two as I found it for $45 each can’t wait to use this on my red Vw which has been sitting for months with no protection so have to clay bar it and buff it then apply this
Hi Jon. Great channel matey, thanks for these and the entertainment value too. Speaking of wax's, have you ever tried any of the Swissvax wax products...?...If so, what are your thoughts on these..?
I think if you have a big budget and you understand your not paying for like durability your paying for like the label. Well I think swissvax is credible as a high end brand and the their waxes are nice to work with. But the big caviate is a cheap 15 pound was can last longer etc.. I talk about high end waxes soon.
Hi John, interesting video. Was surprised by the results. Sadly the metallic blue bonnet didn’t show as clearly as red or black ones that you have used in the past. However thanks for taking the time to make the video.
The best thing about the fusso coat is that i have almost a full can left at home. I top it with speed and barrier once every forth wash and somtimes with the bazooka when im in a hurry, i think it will outlive me🤣
Hi Jon you have cost me a fortune you need to sort out discount codes for bilt hamber lol. I have purchased the double speed wax, last week i done the car with Turtle wax jet black which covers light scratches can i use double speed on top of this or do i have to strip the jet black of. Sorry for being a pain new to this keep up the great work cheers
Just found this video, On the off chance you see this comment I was wondering what you would recommend for a red car? I've had white cars in recent years and the white version of Fusso has always been my go to for a base coat and then top up with either BSD or Graphene Flex wax. Would the Dark Fusso or the White Fusso work best on Red paint?
I'd be interested to hear his opinion on the new sonax spray sealant.... I believe it's called sonax xtreme ceramic spray sealant or something like that
Hi Jon Yet another top video. Interesting to see the Moonlight degrade in the bottle over the years. I've had a bottle about half full for the last 2 years or so. Like yours it'd been kept in a garage. Would appreciate your thoughts as to whether you'd reckon it would still be good to use. Only asking as I'm in the market for a new sealant potentially. Might give it a go and see how it goes.
@@ForensicDetailing Thanks Jon. Likewise, used on another car and put away. Exactly my thoughts, will apply on another car panel and see what it's like after a month or so!
Could you please test liquid luster there’s local stores down where I live and they still sell the hell out of liquid luster people love that stuff. is it really that good?
hmm Im going to say not that much. And thats based on the Pro detailers testing we did at autoglym with their UV tank. But I dont have much experience of testing products with UV light. thats all I have so take with pinch of salt.
Re: Soft99 Fusso, you can Only get the new formula now, I presume. It has been shown that it is not nearly as good as the old formula. Should the new formula been used instead. I’m hesitant on trying the new one. There are so many different containers other than the dark & light versions. Thanks. A lot of work goes into these tests. 👍🏼
I show the new one in the 24 sealant and wax on 2 panel video. it did not outlast double speed. but the old one does outlast double speed. The old one has some truely bad ass durability and in real life I remember it doing like 7-8 months+ on my van.
Like you - I reckon I could start a museum - "Car Protection through the ages - mind you I reckon all detailers could do the same - we all seek the pot of gold - that's what keeps the industry going - now where shall I offload the next £30/40 - keeps me alive, wife cannot understand.
Hi Jon. I’ve been using Koch chemie new spray sealant. Man alive it’s so good. I did coated my c30 in about 5 mins. Maybe 1 or 2 sprays per panel. Super easy and glossy
Been using it on my cars and customer cars. Its nuts. It seems expensive but can get you done alot of cars. Ease of use is impressive as well. Its quite durable as well.
why moonlight was marked with "X Expired" at the begging of test? Ok, at the end of the movie everything was explained. Moonlight was 5 years old and it didnt work as it should from the beggining of test.
Can fusso “go off”. My fusso literally only lasts like 3 months before the beading starts to fail? Always use a pre wax/degreaser spray after polish to make sure any residue is gone as well
ok so beading will always fail. minerals in your water build on the paint, cationic films from your detergents will cling and mask it, salty nasty road films can erode it. nothing keeps perma beading event coatings that last years loose the zing after 3-6 months and peeps thing they have failed when they have not. so if you get beading which lasts 3 months thats mega impressive. But if you want beads just use a hydrphobic drying aid like wet coat or Sonax bsd as well.. lots of peeps love fusso + sonax BSD for the beadage.
@@ForensicDetailing really appreciate the reply thankyou! Yeah that’s true actually because it still washes easily up to about 9 months, glad to hear that I’m doing well with beading at 3 months then😂I use car pro reset shampoo and use fusso speed and barrier every few weeks. I have some wet coat so I’ll give that a blast next time it deteriorates.
Mckees hydro blue pro: Applied before Toronto winter in September, still beading towards June. Loads more durability compared to the non-pro version. (I didn't even clay/iron remove before application.. and THE KING of application, spray and rinse off. Please check it out.

How does the Liquid Insulator Wax No. 845 do?! Wil it compete with these waxes? I am curious..
awesome test ! are you planning to test opti-seal? for me it looks like nice stuff, but washing it by any chemicals (alkaline) seems to wash it out.
no plans to mate its nice and easy to use but does not last too long.
Great effort and an enjoyable experiment to watch. Thanks for your efforts.
Hi Jon, really enjoyed watching that I think I'm going to have to invest in some Soft99 fusso wax for the winter months and maybe use the gyeon as a topper as it will give it that nice finish and you can maintain that with there new ceramic detailer or bathe+
Any reason you didn't use AG UHD.
Hi mate, just corrected my car and have given it 2 coats of 303 do I just leave it now or could I top it off with Built hamber double speed wax? Enjoyed the vid very much thanks
just leave it now mate, wash it and use a detail spray to help dry the car.
How would you be able to remove fusso? By polishing?
Not sure why the 303 did so bad. Works great on a real vehicle. Hmmm. Great video. Keep it up man. Might get a different topper for my ceramic coating... The coating on my car went to amazing from really good.
Perfect video you are the best. Much Hugs from Brazil.
Huge hugs back to you and your beautiful country
Bring back the old Fusso!!!
Allways thought turtlewax was underrated. I prefer it to meguiars
Just for info all. I've put tac moonlight on my car back end of February. Still beading now
Amazing stuff and 1 bottle lasts forever.
Hi Feronsic Detailing Channel,
I'm wondering if I can use the Soft99 Fusso coat (new formula I suppose, as the older one can't be found anywhere?) as a first applied protection layer, and then combine it with the Turtle Wax 53342 Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Waxspray for the more glossy effects.
Just wondered what and how we should remove all LSP before applying a new product, seems the wash products for doing this are fairly useless ?
well it depends. it can be this simple.
@@ForensicDetailing and always chasing perfection ...
When tac moonlight wears off do u have to machine it off away before reapplying? Or it wears off on its own? Thanks
Is there a car detailers "food bank/recycling centre?" - no offence meant but we could do with one, either or both.
AA for we weaker detailers?
Go on John, get in there son, great video
Jon any chance you get back into WAX IS DEAD for another mega shoot? love the offsite episodes
I want to as well I see the guys a lot we are just waiting for the right car as opposed to staging fake details everytime as seems to be the norm
Hi John, interesting video. Was surprised by the results. Sadly the metallic blue bonnet didn’t show as clearly as red or black ones that you have used in the past. However thanks for taking the time to make the video.
John thanks for your video.
Have you got a preference beetwen Gyon wax and TW 75th paste wax ?
Nice entertaining video as always Jon. Now please make a video on ultimate GLOSS !!!
Great video jon love these shoot outs!
Doesn't help me deciding on next product tho😅
Tac system moonlight
Fusso coat
Gyeon wax
🤔🤔🤔
Thankfully I bought 2 tins of the old Fusso coat before it all sold out.
It makes no difference m8 honestly
@@ForensicDetailing no mess about response, appreciate it mate.
I'm definitely insuring the remaining of my original Fusso Coat after seeing this! It will sleep in the safe tonight.
I'd be interested to hear his opinion on the new sonax spray sealant.... I believe it's called sonax xtreme ceramic spray sealant or something like that
The fusso is incredible for a old product.
Remind me a channel that i unsubscribe rescently due to drama 😂, thats nice , Keep it up with these test, i love it!
The amount of water you use, waders would be a great investment!!😂😂
Great selection of products there John 👍🏻
Good to know the Fusso is the winner, I’ve got a pot old stock paste wax both light and dark finish 😁
Loving the hand signals 🤣🤣🤣
Hi Jon
Yet another top video.
Might give it a go and see how it goes.
mine was ok after 2 years. but I only used it a few times. test on a small area is best bet mate.
@@ForensicDetailing Thanks Jon. Likewise, used on another car and put away. Exactly my thoughts, will apply on another car panel and see what it's like after a month or so!
You Sir are a hero. Thanks for your all hard work.
Could you please test liquid luster there’s local stores down where I live and they still sell the hell out of liquid luster people love that stuff. is it really that good?
Amazing products. Hell of a test. How much does UV light impact durability?
hmm Im going to say not that much. And thats based on the Pro detailers testing we did at autoglym with their UV tank. But I dont have much experience of testing products with UV light. thats all I have so take with pinch of salt.
Re: Soft99 Fusso, you can
Only get the new formula now, I presume.
Thanks Jon, awesome video. How do I really get the wax off though? 👍 Keep up the awesome work
Like you - I reckon I could start a museum - "Car Protection through the ages - mind you I reckon all detailers could do the same - we all seek the pot of gold - that's what keeps the industry going - now where shall I offload the next £30/40 - keeps me alive, wife cannot understand.
Any ideas where i can get the old fusso from John ?
Can i use the ceramic wax over a mequairs totall glass wax?
why moonlight was marked with "X Expired" at the begging of test?
Have you tried the Maguire's Hybrid on glass ( not windscreen ) how would it compare against Rain X?
its ok mate decent on glass just dont use too much.
Is it possible to use a quick polish like Meguiers ultimate quick spray wax over Fusso coat?
yes
So the product that won isn’t even available in in the format tested. Maybe eBay might have some old stock kicking around :/
Mckees hydro blue pro: Applied before Toronto winter in September, still beading towards June. Loads more durability compared to the non-pro version. (I didn't even clay/iron remove before application.. and THE KING of application, spray and rinse off.
Please check it out.
Appreciate and thanks your impressive testing and review.
