      Yes very good products for the $$$, however to get a year of protection, you must apply two coats of the polish and two coats of the spray wax waiting 24 hours between coats. One application of Seal "n Shine and one application of ICE Spray Wax could get you the durability?

    I have found myself using this (the prior and now latest U.K. version) more and more in recent months as my main go to sealant and slicker/glosser. It’s always been quicker than many SiO2 sprays, as it can be used wet or dry - so I spray and dry with it, it doesn’t need to cure before it rains etc, and provides weeks of protection and is 95% as glossy as one of the best SiO2 sprays I use to use. Yes I could get months of protection. with another higher tech product but this is so quick and easy to apply after each wash it’s just part of my drying routine now, I hardly think about it, as I dry. Good value too. Not seeing the need to use anything else.

    I've been using tons of different types of car care products over the last 50 years of my car care life. Paid thousands of bucks to test the "next best car care product. Took me 45 years to finally realize that the Turtle Wax products that have been put out in the last 2 or 3 years have been the most incredible AND cheapest car care products on the market today. YOU DON'T NEED TO SPEND A BUNCH OF MONEY ON ALL THESE SNAZZY RAZZY PRODUCTS THAT DON'T DO ANYTHING BETTER!!!!!!

  • @MeliorIlle
    @MeliorIlle Год назад +16

    The S&S they sent you from the US is the brand new one, it isn't old. The old model had a silver spray top, it was updated once and still had the silver top with a "new" stamp just like your middle version called "sealant wax" in the UK. After a while they transitioned both ICE products that are left in the US (Spray wax and Seal and Shine) to black spray tops. You have the newest model that has added SIO2 and patented UV protection. Those that have tested the old vs new version argue the new one is slightly better. Looks like you have about the same thing in the UK with the updated model being your version in the middle but probably has different chemical make up. I don't see any info stating it has SIO2 like ours.
    Your old S&S looks like it performs similar to our older version which I actually prefer. The beads were ridiculous for a spray sealant and I liked that it was a purely polymer product. Adding SIO2 to literally everything you have kind of negates having different products in the first place. You could top it with pretty much whatever you wanted if you were actually worried about UV protection. I'm sure it protected the paint just fine from the sun with the added carnuba.
    Pound for pound, this is and has been since its release the best protection for your paint. TW probably made the greatest paint protection product of all time when they released S&S. It's amazing for anyone that uses it; enthusiasts, pros, moms with their soccer vans. Its absolutely amazing what you get for the money.

      I should have read your reply before I posted my message - got 2 bottles from Amazon yesterday and they looked like the USA version except the word “ICE” is missing - so should be the latest (possibly best) version! Thanks for explanation 👍

    • @MeliorIlle
      @MeliorIlle Год назад +1

      @@colinmilne4634 You will win with any version, I have both on my shelf and they are both amazing performance wise. You will get a bit more durability with the latest version but it is minimal. The ultimate combo for the money is to top it with the ICE spray wax. That is a legit 6 months of protection unless you live in very harsh conditions.

      Weird. So if I go on Amazon USA right now, they have the “old” US version on his Left (you call this the new one) it is $13.49 for 16oz. Product number 50984. The one with the silver top and large “ICE” logo and slightly different turtle wax logo (the old white turtle logo, not the new green one) it is $14.99 with a microfiber towel and 16oz. Product number 53223. Others charging 19.99 with no towel. Then scroll down and there are a ton of other TW products that confuse the crap out of you. They are all so similar.

    • @MeliorIlle
      @MeliorIlle Год назад

      @@KosmicHRTRacingTeam Yes, on US Amazon you can still buy the old version, even in bulk which I think is a great deal. The new version is a dollar cheaper but you don't get a microfiber towel with it, not a big deal. Funny because you can also get the UK version but it is more expensive.

That being said, I believe I can speak for most TW enthusiasts that the combination of the current version of ICE Seal&Shine with the ICE Spray Wax as a maintenance topper is a killer classic. Incredibly timely video. I’m about to finish polishing my Mini (taking a little RUclips break), and will be using Ice S-n-S afterward. BTW, I think raising the panel by the sides may make the center “lane” slightly concave, so the middle pad’s surface has slightly less contact/friction with the panel than the outer pads. Totally agree with you Sam. Turtle Wax Seal and Shine is the most AMAZING stuff I've used in 50 years. SUPER easy to apply and take off. The key is that you MUST use very, very little or it will streak. I have found out that it only lasts for 2 to 3 months on my nice daily driver car that is NEVER garaged. Nobody knows that even the winter sunshine does almost as much damage to your wax protection as the summer sun. That's OK because there realistically isn't ANY wax that lasts any longer than 3 months on any car that is NEVER in a garage. All these tests that say their wax lasts for even 6 months is a bunch of B.S and must be based on a car that is garaged for 12 to 14 hours every day. I also use Meguires Shine as you Dry as a topper after every 10 to 14 day hand wash. NEVER use an automatic car wash!!!!!! And also, ALL these Turtle Wax Solution products are so-o-o-o cheap compared to all these super duper crappy expensive products that ARE NOT any better. Glad you are one of the very few people that has "seen the light".

      I find with all of TW sprays - use a well rung-out damp cloth as an initial wipe off followed with a fluffy- buffer. Never a streak issue. A very minor extra step that may actually save you time. Shine on you crazy diamond!

    Of course, we should all remember that chemical resistance is not the same as actual durability!!! Put UK old Hydrophobic Sealant Wax on a car and it will not last that long, 3-4 months typically and there are products that are less chemically resistant will be more real world durable. There will also be products that are rubbish t both! Also, for chemical resistance, try and see how the original UK Hydrophobic Sealant Wax copes against Koch Chemie FSe. You might guess that by me raising it, means that I know and it is very disappointing!
    Main point though, chemical resistance isn’t the same as durability - weathering on the car is a factor and you’ll find that Car Plan SuperGloss Number 1 lasts longer in the real world. Test it!

      you cant really use FSE to test durability as it contains PDMS which alters the hydrophobicity.

      @@ForensicDetailing initially. I did a test to see if FSe affected the durability of sealants and waxes, when it was used as a QD/drying aid. Some were unphased (paste waxes, non ceramic polymer sealants), but the TW Hydrophobic Sealant Wax was easily the most affected. FSe wears off very quickly to reveal the underlying product, helped by a wash so it was an eye opening test. It’s on RUclips.

    Whats the key differences between seal and shine and dry and shine (blue bottle) here in the u.k ? Just finished bottle of gyeon wet coat so want similar product that can apply to wet car and just rinse of.

      Dry and shine is a spray and rinse. Seal n shine is more spread spread and buff

      @@ForensicDetailing Hi John! As I recently bought 5l BH Touchless, I didn't know, that is, a lot of them say on RUclips that it's not very good to wash with ph-alkaline agent if the car has some kind of protection on the paint, so I'm interested in your answer, is it better to put protection, considering the resistance according to BHT, with 303 graphene nano (35E) or TW sealant hydrophobic wax (11.5E) or Meguiars HCW (16E) or sonax BSD (8E) and under it Polymer netShield (14E) or do you have some kind of better combination?

    I've tried the new formula and I have to admit it's the worst spray product I have ever used, the old formula is alot superior on water water behaviour.
    Turtlewax in the marketing department and chemist need to wake up because they took a decent product and flawed it down by the new formula God knows what they doing, give us the USA formula even if the chemicals need to be imported from the USA as its the holy grail of products, if you do that I'm certain people will pay 21 pounds for a bottle the same as meguairs ceramic hybrid wax, as the test show on youtube the USA formula is tough nothing breaks it down take a hint Turylewax.
    Anyway I am going to stick with meguairs hybrid ceramic wax from now on getting ripped off as the graphene spray sealant is not up to the job as meguairs its the same price as well.
    Shame as this product could destroy meguiars spray sealant only if we have the same ingredients and formula as the USA, Turtlewax will make a real comeback in Europe and will make alot of sales, its a complete flaw on a business stargie going on a less superior product especially when the USA version videos on RUclips show mega impressive results on their formula.

      There are better out there, this lineup is old as dirt, but maybe not as cheap, but that's OK I rather pay a little more and have a streak free finish with A LOT less buffing out (the new seal and shine is super crap)
