I very recently carried out a winter prep and went with the OG Fusso coat (can still be purchased through eBay at times) I was surprised by the gloss levels considering it doesn't claim to be a gloss monster, but noticed the beeding starting to fade after just a few maintenance washes, I've topped with luxury gloss which seems to work well together, can't see it doing 8 + months but no way I'd leave it that long anyhow 😆. Real world testing by yourself is the most accurate out of all the testing.
@Tommy Holt Yeah, I went with GT decon shampoo both through a lance and bucket mate. The luxury gloss seems great, but I'm just not sure about the fusso as a stand-alone for that amount of time, say if daily driven, etc.

Although I haven't used it for a while as I've tried various spray sealants, I really liked 845 insulator wax as it goes on like butter.
@@simonburns102 I like the gloss and the beading is really impressive. It just doesn’t last long enough in my opinion, although it’s pretty easy to apply so a top up coat isn’t the end if the world. I’ve used some ceramic wax from in2detailing and it’s much much more durable.
Am really surprised with gyon can coat evo with its durability and especially it's water beating I have the old can coat version on my daily with our winters here in Canada and the longevity is pretty good and the water beating is outstanding, especially compared to the Evo apparently
Absolutely. I mentioned this in a recent video where ‘durability’ was represented by chemical resistance and Jon stated that he has clarified this point before. This doesn’t help any new viewers or people who may not have understood the difference.
Personaly I dont really care about chemical resistance... I just wanna know if the water-repelent and the shine is still there over 25-30 normal wash. So I will try Fusso Coat. But I also like to add spray wax after every wash. Is meguiars X-press spray wax gonna work on that?
Turtle seal n shine is the best to use if your country has continuous rain due to its hydrophobic properties amd toughness but its the worst sealant during the dry - dusty season as it is a definitive dust magnet. Better if you have different wax/sealants depending on the season.
I've been really disappointed with the durability of Can Coat EVO in my usage. Applied 2 coats in mid-September and on the lower panels of the car it's absolutely dead. Tried hitting it with Car Pro Reset and a fallout remover and there was very little difference. For a product that claims 12 months, 3/4 months is pretty poor in my opinion on a car that's washed every 2/3 weeks at most. I'll top it up to get it through to summer at least but not sure I'll be using it again.
Then you didn't prep the panels correctly.... ie. decon, claybar, cleaner polish, ISO wipe etc... Any coating is only as good as your prep. I have cancoat on my car, and i live in new england and i can attest to being 9months in and the coating is nearly as good as when it was installed
I can attest to the fact that you must have applied the gyeon can coat incorrectly... or didnt let it cure long enough because i have it on my car and it beads far more than what you display here
Everytime I use seal and shine its all off in a fortnight, done the full preps bought a new bottle too just incase put loads on put less on left it longer before buffing but a few washes later the water just lays flat on the car, I give up with it lol
In my experience all sealants decline over a short period of repeated washing. Cancoat is exceeds any other sealeants and only started trailing off only daily driver. Its very cheap to use and easy to work with, a bargain Gyeon product. It is also a great plastic revivor / sealant, best I have used on my motorcycles, I use it on everything, nothing else comes close.
In the US I can get the Seal and Shine on Amazon for $10.49USD. The ad shows the old and new bottles together and just states "new look". Nothing about a formula change.
The can coat needs 1 week before washing. And something seemed very wrong with the water behavior it's much much more hydrophobic the times i've used it.
That beading on can coat evo was off, on my car it’s up to par with fusso maybe even a bit better. Error of application maybe? Trust me not saying that to be rude lol but it’s really off there.
Do you let the fusso coat to set for 30 minutes and buff off afterwards I do 5 to 8 minutes depending on temperture find it quite hard to buff than others on the market
You only need to wait the 5-10 minutes before buffing. The instructions say 15 minutes but I only wait 10 at most. If you’re finding it difficult to buff you are probably putting too much on. Just put the thinnest of thin coats on and it buffs easily. It works well. I also have Soft99 kiwami wax that I use as a topper. It’s easier to apply because you can buff it straight off. The conurbation of both is amazing.
Definitely something wrong with the can coat, either application or product, Would of probably been better to of used the new turtle 🐢 wax for a better comparison 🤔
Hi, You are doing a fantastic job. Can you test the American and European version of Seal snd Shine? The shops say it's the same product, but many people don't believe it.
It would only be fair to Gyeon to redo the whole experiment and let it cure for a week( as with most ceramics ). The way cancoat performed here is in no way consistent with the results people are getting otherwise, me included. So please, John, if you’re going to compare a true ceramic coating with other non ceramic coatings, let it cure accordingly.
i think the seal and shine is prolly the best. very cheap. spray and buff but just has good durability. number 1 wax is the old fusso coat, or BH double speed i think.
Few things to take from the video. 1. Stay the hell away from Surfex HD! That stuff will remove everything! :D j/k 2. Expensive isn't always the best. 3. The most resilient product tested ... is actually the white marker pen used. My car is white. Which marker pen did you use? :) I split my car's bonnet last year and applied TW Hydrophobic Wax and Fusso Coat (old formula / white) on each half. I had to redo the TW after roughly 3 months, but Fusso only let go after 11 months or so. On rainy days it was very clear there were 2 different products used. Fusso is my favourite, but I will always have TW because it is so good and very easy to work with. It also works on all surfaces. And at that price, just use it as a drying aid and never bother with a sealant refresh. My problem with Turtle Wax is the marketing on this product. You have ICE Seal N Shine, I have the Hydrophobic Sealant Wax and now there is another one available called Seal N Shine Hydrophobic Wax. To my knowledge it is all the same product. Don't think I've seen a comparison of the 2 or 3 of them. It's also interesting to me that we only started getting Fusso Coat here after they seemed to change the formula, and we only get the old formula. Africa is a dumping ground for old stock, but I won't complain.
@@soapa4279 Yes, indeed it is. Even in the longevity claims the new formula is only said to last 11 months while the older formula is 12. We only started receiving Fusso Coat here after the formula changed, but it is the older formula. Yep me too buddy, no water repellency at all. I still have the old hydrophobic sealant bottle and way better
Same experience here. Seems like it was gone after a wash or two
I honestly use TW seal and shine today. One of the best imo
at 1:00 , does the fusso coat looks hazy on the surface?
I'm waiting for the Rupes Uno Advanced Protect test...Please. Almost no tests on RUclips at this moment. They said up to 12 months protection.
It's mikes ahead of other aio m8 buy it.
@@ForensicDetailing I bought it today. When will you test it? Keep up the good work. My favorite detail channel.
Did two coats coat of seal & shine 24 hrs apart and it lasted 9+ months
303 Nano Spray Coating is the best one for me🤘🏻affordable for anyone 😉👍🏻
Hiya John hope all is well, will we see you testing diamond pro tech soon and a very merry Christmas to you
In my experience all sealants decline over a short period of repeated washing. Cancoat is exceeds any other sealeants and only started trailing off only daily driver. Its very cheap to use and easy to work with, a bargain Gyeon product. It is also a great plastic revivor / sealant, best I have used on my motorcycles, I use it on everything, nothing else comes close.
I'd like to see P&S beadmaker next to these products. I use it (applied dry on a cleaned car) and it looks to be going forever on my sidewindows
that wont get close to these products durability wise mate.
@@ForensicDetailing I'll have to take your word on that. 😁
Anyway, thx for replying, man. 👍🏻
Should have included Collinite 476 and Finish Kare F1000P.
they would not keep up with this field. I have FK1000p and ive used 476 both decent.
Yup used to love the seal and shine until it changed
You can get that version in Halfords with the green turtle
Turtle seal and shine is the most durable but the only drawback is that it attracts dirt.
In the US I can get the Seal and Shine on Amazon for $10.49USD. The ad shows the old and new bottles together and just states "new look". Nothing about a formula change.
They put something about adding sio2 on a yellow tag in the new formula, but might have dropped that by now.
What about turtle wax ceramic +graphene paste wax? If I recall, this is one of most durable ones
No seal and shine is way more durable
@@ForensicDetailing But we cannot find it 😅
Great test John👍👍
The can coat needs 1 week before washing. And something seemed very wrong with the water behavior it's much much more hydrophobic the times i've used it.
That beading on can coat evo was off, on my car it’s up to par with fusso maybe even a bit better. Error of application maybe? Trust me not saying that to be rude lol but it’s really off there.
John does these tests so we don’t have too 😂
Seal and Shine on the Bay £18-00/5L. Can this be genuine?
5 months later and TW Seal and shine is £8.39 at Amazon UK....Worth a punt?
Yes m8 the us version. Has a tiny bit more punch but just get some. It's cheap and I think it's really good
@@ForensicDetailing The one on Amazon UK has the green turtle...if that makes a difference.
They make a dark and black paint version of Seal n Shine with black pigment and extra fillers....
Can you stack fusso on top of jescar?
“What is the most durable retail product that you can go and buy” - then shows 3 out of 4 products that are not available for sale in the UK 😂
Fair play 🤣🤣🤣
You can find them online 👍🏽
Oh no! If only you could buy over the internet... UK sellers do have them.
@@TheDonshazgive me a link to the old Fusso coat then??? 🤡🤡🤡
@@Nath92L Rude and thick. Nice. Ebay intelligent lad. About £40 odd.
Weird for cancoat!, Was it a new bottle or an old product already opened?.
It’s supposed to cure for a week or so before hitting it with strong chemicals. So I would say this is not the way to test it…
Ah yes the hardening time! Thank you for your answer ! 👍 👍 👍
Is it seal and shine that used to be in the blue bottle?
that was rinse wax
would love to see you toss some boat product into the mix.
Can you apply Gyeon Can Coat on top of Auroglym SRP? Thanks for all your content.
no mate
@@ForensicDetailing thank you 😊
Love the hate it or love it reference at the end
has your can coat gone bad?
Don't think so dave could be lack of 7 day cure
The most durable thing that you can slap on your car is "paint"😃
I would like to see ultimaxx waxeramic tested
What do you suggest as a topper for Fusso Coat?
Speed barrier s99 m8
Definitely something wrong with the can coat, either application or product,
Would of probably been better to of used the new turtle 🐢 wax for a better comparison 🤔
100% fact
Hi, You are doing a fantastic job. Can you test the American and European version of Seal snd Shine? The shops say it's the same product, but many people don't believe it.
ive done that mate its on that channel. I found the USA version a bit better
I think there was something wrong with the Cancoat, as applied it to my car and was one of the most hydrophobic ever seen ❗️. Don’t forget Sonax BSD❓
there's 100% chance he botched the cancoat application.... most likely not allowed to cure
Do you have the part number of the seal n shine? is it 53223 ??
I'm in bed at the moment m8 I'll try remember this and find it
Should've tried tac systems moonlight against the can coat evo Jon
whats the point when he didn't apply it correctly / give it the correct amount of time to cure. This is an awful comparison video
I feel like TAC Systems Moonlight needs to join that list
It would only be fair to Gyeon to redo the whole experiment and let it cure for a week( as with most ceramics ). The way cancoat performed here is in no way consistent with the results people are getting otherwise, me included.
So please, John, if you’re going to compare a true ceramic coating with other non ceramic coatings, let it cure accordingly.
Hee hee, what's your number 1 spray wax and normal wax like fusso?
i think the seal and shine is prolly the best. very cheap. spray and buff but just has good durability. number 1 wax is the old fusso coat, or BH double speed i think.
Damn thankyou for the informations, greets from the Netherlands.
Few things to take from the video.
1. Stay the hell away from Surfex HD! That stuff will remove everything! :D j/k
2. Expensive isn't always the best.
3. The most resilient product tested ... is actually the white marker pen used. My car is white. Which marker pen did you use? :)
I split my car's bonnet last year and applied TW Hydrophobic Wax and Fusso Coat (old formula / white) on each half.
I may be wrong but didn't TW change the branding of the Hydrophobic Sealant to Seal and shine, in the UK but it's the same formula 🤔
Fusso Coat original is actually slightly better than the new formula. This channel actually did a nice comparison on those two.
@@soapa4279 Yes, indeed it is. Even in the longevity claims the new formula is only said to last 11 months while the older formula is 12. We only started receiving Fusso Coat here after the formula changed, but it is the older formula. This is usually because Africa winds up being a dumping ground for old stock. 😁 I'm not going to complain about that though.
Just got 5lt of the turtle was seal and shine off of eBay for £18 delivered bargain to be had there if anyone’s interested 👍
Is that the old formula
@@piovo1 this is the real question. The new batch is rubbish.
Shocking to see how the cancoat done
because he botched the application, and didn't allow it the 24 hour time to cure. You can literally click any other review of cancoat on youtube and see that this guy screwed something up
does cancoat evo increase gloss level?
Depends on base gloss of panel it's going in.
Should have left the panel for a week, Can Coat needs more than 48 hours for a full cure.
even 24 hours.... this is a very bad comparison video
Turtle wax imo is the best stuff
Yes I love their products 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Turtle Wax has to change the name of Seal and Shine to Godzilla Shine👍
Can't go wrong with dsw. You've said it many times john
Wow this review really shocked me as the Turtlewax is the cheapest and water based, mind baffling thanks for the review, is this the UK version of the seal and shine or a american version
The American one
Somthing wrong with the can coat, usually very hydrophobic for me.
