When I began to really feed my detailing passion, I never envisioned the journey I would take. I have become aware that to get the most enjoyment, satisfaction from your work, is the ability to learn the benefits of the products you chose to purchase. Channels like yours Jon, has only added to the journey, passion and satisfaction of the end result. Another great video. Till the next one.
I have been waiting a long time for this the comparison. Thank you
Used to be an avid user of fusso but switched to gyeon q2 wax and the water behaviour and gloss is awesome.
Love your enthusiasm in your videos brilliant learning videos. Enjoy all your content
Just bought a tub of FUSSO and a tub of MIRROW SHINE through you recommendation Jon👍🏻 Looking forward to polishing and then adding it when I've got time and conditions are favourable.
Hey there, I've been getting fed up of my car looking rubbish after drive through car washes. So I had a look on RUclips and came across your channel, wow the amount of knowledge about detailing is mega confusing for a beginner. Your channel has helped me choose some products though and gave me confidence to try it for myself. Ordered a ton of gear from soft99 and will be trying out the claybar, the micro liquid compound and the fusso wax.
Fingers crossed I get it right.
Thank you for your informative videos and subbed to your channel.
Your welcome
I literally just bought fusso today at a car show, got home and rewatched your fusso video, then this evening you release this.
Are you watching me john?
Just done my first maintenance wash after applying fusso coat last weekend. Dirt practically fell off, thanks for the recommendation of this product.
Great to hear.
Awww man, i was expecting the gloss meter to compare them. But great video! Much appreciated
Another really interesting video John, for me fusso coat is the most durable of waxes , I top it up with king of gloss every couple of months, and after each wash spray some sonax bsd on as a topper!
Good video Jon, really useful stuff. I have Fusso and Speed and Barrier but I'm very interested in the Mirror Shine, that looks a doddle to use. All the best mate.
King of gloss on top of fusso is the best result I have ever had constantly getting complaints of how shiny my car looks and the beading is spectacular 😊
@brianohalloran9321 I bet you love the complaints too 🤣. I bought the Mirror Shine, it is indeed a doddle to use and looks great. All the best, Brian.
I love layering waxes like that. I love it! So I have layered it now i put two layers of fusso coat and two layers of the king of gloss and still thinking should I put two layers of Soft99 Smooth Egg Platinum or Soft99 Fusso Coat Speed & Barrier Hand Spray for ultimate gloss and protection and water beating 🤔 I have done now like this that I did put the wax over the whole car at once and then buffed it of so it was on little bit longer than 10 minutes and then I let it harden for 4 hours before putting the second layer and then I waited 24 hours before putting next wax on top of the first one. I can tell it’s looks amazing but I’m still not happy enough before I try a spray wax on top of this. 😅 I was thinking to let it be for two days before adding that just so it’s 100% harden and cured before adding two layers of a third wax
I’m going to try fusso and megs tech wax combo didn’t think of doing double wax trick before
Hi mate, as the weather brightening up I think it's finally time to start correcting my merc.
Gonna go with koch F6 and P3, which will hopefully be enough for swirls and the odd scratch, there's no deep imperfections. Anyway, I'm not sure what to do for protection. I know ceramics are the best in terms of protection but they don't have that special wax look. Plus I wash the car every week so re application every so often doesn't really bother me.
I have a few waxes/sealants but I want something really good that has good durability, good hydrophobic etc. Is there anything you would recommend? I can see myself going for some of these soft99 ones but wondering if there's anything better. Cheers
really cool to see you are doing more Soft99 product videos John🤙 Do you also got the Mirror Shine liquide Wax???
I don't have this m8
Bizzarro stuff. I've been detailing cars in Japan for ages and cannot find Fusso anywhere.
Timely video having just used Fusso coat on my car.
I bought some Kiwami extreme a while ago and it gave my pant an amazing gloss and great beading for a short period of time. My paint was really slick to the touch. The lack of durability meant that I relegated it to a summer wax. I also found that it didn’t seem to like Gyeon QD.
I decided to try Fusso this year given how everyone raves about it. Same slick paint and impressive beading. I still had some Kiwami left, so I topped up the Fusso with that yesterday. The gloss is now epic, and I’ll top it up again in a few months.
The Soft99 waxes do give an awesome slick feel, more so than many other waxes I’ve tried although they are a bit dustier to remove. The beading is good too; I had my car cleaned whilst on holiday last summer after being forced to park near a tree and getting covered in sap. The guy thought it had been ceramic coated because of the beading.
I have a test pot of Forensic hand made wax in the garage. Worth thousands now!😂
hehe :) I think I have a pot as well I might put it on my car for fun :)
Hi!! You can first use the Fusso Coat and then apply the Extreme Gloss Black Wax? Thank you so much!!
@forensicdetailing maybe you could do a clip or series about detailing PPF'd cars? I'd be really interested in the difference in prepping and (light) ceramics.
Can do m8 freshlayers know all about ppf
Nice explanation in a spring season! Just a little question from newbie - is it ok to use Gyeon Ceramic Detailer over Fusso?
Yes I do it with good results.
Hey! Great video and awesome comparison between these products! Quick question, I have the Fusso coat wax and the Fusso Coat Speed & Barrier quick detailing spray (Fusso Coat Boost). I thought to top up the original Fusso coat wax it is recommended to use the Fusso Coat Boost spray after washing the car or every couple of months or so? Is it possible to use this spray to top up the original Fusso wax or in combination with one of these 3 waxes you have compared in this video? Seems like they can all be applied as a topper if and when needed to extend the durability and protection of the wax? Thanks!
yes m8 if you like to top with a spray product speed and barrier is the same tech as fusso. They even call it fusso booster.
Hi Do you recommend to youe those yelow geniune fuse pads ?will the scratch the paint or are they safe to use ,
I'm addicted to these videos. Great stuff. Thanks!
Any chance of reviewing the cheaper Amazon/ supermarket end of the scale products?
Carplan no gloss, dirt busters shampoo etc. Would be great to see how they compare to your pro chems.
ive done reviews or the Amazon basics and Carplan stuff mate. They are cheap but the detergents lack the sort of bite Im after personally, a little bit watery. But the amazon basics shampoo I thought was good for the price. you wont save money though mate. Save money buy buying the winners of my shoot outs. For example car chem 1900:1 shampoo buy 5 litres of that for like 14 quid on black friday and you use like 5-10 ml a wash. That will last you a lifetime. Buy 5 litres of surfex HD etc... see detailing on a budget video I did.
@@ForensicDetailing apologies, I must have missed those. I thought I'd viewed them all. Thanks for the advice👍
Hi jon, i have my base from fusso. If i would like to top up with mirror shine after 2 months over fusso, do i need to decon the car or just basic wash?
Love the videos, Could I use Auto glym ceramic after using fusso dark on my car?
no mate it wont bond
Finally!! The most confusing part.
Thanks for the vid. Nowadays what’s the opinion about these waxes vs a ceramic coating? Thanks.
coatings last longer mate. they are simply a specialist hard curing resin. but if you like buffing your car to a shine then the coating perhaps is not fr you.
Hi Jon, did you try already the Soft99 H9 Glass coating? I wonder if can be applied for headlight, tail light and any glossy plastic parts? Thanks
Not 5ried h9 m8
Great video Jon, forgive me if so, but has there ever been any advice what to do with spent mic-fibes once they are full of polish? Can you wash them? Do you just buy new ones? Can they be used for other things if not? Thanks!
Wash them m8
Great video as ever Jon! Have you tried Soft99 Water Block? That one is meant to have the best hydrophobicity.
Not yet
@@ForensicDetailing put it on your list because it’s really good and I hope it can be layered on top of Fusso.
Good afternoon. I'm from Brazil and I follow your channel. Have you tried wetting the sponge before using Fusso Coat or King off Gloss? You can do this with any Soft99 wax. Try it and you will approve
Question: my product dried out..cover wasnt shut properly, can I still use it? can I add a bit of water? or is there anything to do or it is wasted.
Could you layer water splash on top also?
Nice video! May I use fusso coat and soft99 luxury gloss?
Yes u can
John, i haven't had a great experience using fusso and am reluctant to try it again. In your opinoin how would mirror shine go as a stand alone wax? On a side note i use kiwami with great results. In my scenario i get easy 6 months from the kiwami.
stick with the kiwammi mate. you have a good all rounder there.
Wheres the gloss meter?
Hey John, how long would you usually wait in between Fusso and a top coat? 2-3 hours? Cheers, thank you for all the info you provide 👍🏼
Yes m8 at least 1 hour.
Great video as usual. As I continue to fall further down the rabbit hole of detailing and car care products. 😅
How come nobody talks about the Soft99 water block wax?
I have compared all the waxes in a video. I don't think water block is as good as fusso
@@ForensicDetailing yeah I found it after commenting on this one. 😅 You're the only one so far that has done such an extensive review of all the Soft99 waxes.
Hi John can you add graphene max to the wax over the fusso coating and top up with gyeon detailer spray? (Obviously not straight away but sometime later)
Will this compromise the effectiveness of the fusso coating?
truth is I dont know mate, but give it a whirl see what happens should be ok. Although if you get fusso just top it with fusso booster and you know it will work.
@@ForensicDetailing thank you
John any thoughts on (a) two coats of Fusso Coat and (b) Turtle Wax Seal and Shine as a top up ? I waxed the car with Bilt Hamber Double Speed wax last year and every other wash top it up with S and S and its been brillant. I'm wondering if TW Seal and Shine is worth it or should you go with one of the other Soft 99 products?
Have to blame the channel and Johns videos for making us all splurge out on car care products!
Not tested that. But like fir like fussi topped with speed and barrier is like fir like
After applying Fusco do you still do the normal car wash with soap or water will do? Thanks!
Yes m8
Lovely video i am looking at a decent wax is there a link to the website to have a look at the deal?.
In the description m8
So I've applied king of gloss on top of fusso. And now a i want to maintain them. Should i get the speed and barrier or the luxxury gloss ? And will there be compatibility issue ?
Just wash m8 and some qd m8.. luxoury gloss will be fine
Been using the original fusso for years now, I just tend to top fusso with fusso rather than another wax topper. In my opinion, this might not be correct, but wouldn’t you be hiding the hydrophobic properties of fusso by topping it with a less hydrophobic wax?Let’s face it, fusso is all about the beading for me personally. I love the stuff. Don’t know what everyone else thinks?
yer in theory you might mask the beading of fusso or loose the dirt repellency. So for lots they will just use Fusso and in 6 months light polish and put more fusso on. that works.
I found Kiwami to be really hydrophobic. It just didn’t last that long unfortunately.
dah i apply kuwami on top of kuwami?
is the new fusso coat formula still the same since 4 years ago? or do you believe they have improved it's durability?
Not sure m8 don't know if any revisions
What about tipping fusso with Bilt hamber double speed wax
untested combo. But double speed on its own is very very good specially for 15 quid.
Great video, can I ask a question. Can I use fusso on top of a glaze like poorboys? Getting so many conflicting answers online. I'm not a detailer but just want the best for my cars paint.
Yes most glaze use acrylic resin the fusso might degrade that but in reality should be fine
@@ForensicDetailing brilliant cheers
I have done exactly this before. It will work, but it seemed to affect the longevity of the Fusso Coat, so don't expect to get the 12 month claim.
So pleased you've done this John. I've got the decontamination wash and rewax coming up in the next few weeks so all looks good for summer. Huge Soft99 fan so this is a well aimed video.
Question - Where does Fusso Speed and Barrier fit? I use this regularly, about every 4 weeks and am pleased with the bead effects
Speed & Barrier is designed as a topper for Fusso. But if you wanted a paste wax, what Jon has just referred to can be used.
I'll probably continue with Speed and Barrier then, soooo easy and quick to apply. Thank you
@Dave Harper I've had it in the garage since black friday but I changed car in December and haven't applied fusso to the new car, so I haven't had a chance to use it yet. 🙃
@@decker0373 having done a bit more RUclips watching, applying S&B monthly is a wee bit excessive. Only needs to be every 3 months. Ah, well you live and learn.
Happy waxing when you get round to it 🤣
Hello !!! What about scratch x ?
Sometimes less is more though!
Jon, not picking on Fuso but can you do a test, top coat on its own, base coat and top coat and 3 layer combo if applicable, do your usual gloss, smoothness/slippery test, ‘look/depth of gloss’ test, then the main one, your longevity test… I am fairly certain these base, topper, topper topper are 99% marketing by both the manufacturers and the detailers.
Any improvement needs to be very evident as the cost of the extra product and time need to be offset for a real return…. So if layering gives you a noticeable improvement in ‘gloss’ (depth, slipperiness etc) AND 3-6 months more longevity between coats without having to resort to ‘boasters’ on intermediary washes then great, my sceptical side has been proven wrong… but in my experience, I haven’t seen a benefit other than physiological
The manufacturer would make a ‘one coat’ to meet the needs of any ardent detailer/owner without the need for ‘layering’ but layering pays… its like having insurance on insurance… madness.
i got a vid coming soon on all the waxes mate. but after that. gloss meter readings will be the same I would guess. durability im interested in.
Sir, I have a black car. want to polish using tw hybrid acrylic black polish. can i use soft 99 as a top coat? or vice versa? Thank You..
You can but I would not bother with the black acrlic wax. Just use the normal hybrid solutions ceramic wax primer thing. That should work well with the fusso waxes. Not keen on heavily pigments products, platlets or no platlets.
hello, interesting topic. Does such layering of wax really make sense? How long should I wait after applying Fusso with another wax? Regards
from what I have heard, you should let the fusso coat dry to form a bond for some 12 hours before applying a second layer of a different wax... but I would also like to get an advice from someone more experienced...
I waited an hour or 2
@@ForensicDetailing I was thinking 12 hours for it to harden before applying another Soft99 🤔...
@@jaroslav22100 after application, the wax should wait at least 12 hours for it to bond well with the varnish. during this time, it must not be exposed to moisture 😉
Many thanks for this great video.
If Fusso lasts say 12 months, what do you do after the year? Do you wash, decontaminate, prep and reapply the Fusso Coat?
Your video does not cover this. It only discusses the first application.
Can you please explain.
in 12 months time you wash car. feel paintwork to see if it has contamintion. If its sat in a garage for 12 months it wont for example. If its been used every day it will. You then clay if necesary. Then polish if necesary and then apply protection. Remember LSP is there to reduce contamination. paint should not feel dry and rough like unprotected paint. aint of the game is to reduce contamination build up over that 12 months so it does not need major paint correction again (because you only have X amount of clearcoat).
Many thanks, John, for the speedy reply. That helps a lot. [LSP = Last Step Protection, which in this case is the Fusso wax covering the factory clearcoat paint, right?] My car sits in a garage overnight, but is used all year round for short trips to the stores, golf club, etc. So there will be some contamination, even if I diligently wash it every two weeks or so. In Canada, we also have to deal with snow, ice and salt on our roads.
yes mate. the contamination tends to build up on the panels behind the wheels and the rear section of the car. but can get everywhere for example if yuou park under a tree and get some sap...
And, if you apply Fusso with a one of these three topper waxes and top up every 2 or 3 months, what do you do after the first 12 months? Does your base coat of Fusso remain intact so you don't need to reapply and you just keep adding the topper wax every 2 or 3 months? Or do you have to wash, decontaminate, prep and start all over again with a coat of Fusso and the topper wax?
same as previous answer mate. after 12 months do the full inspection, potentual decopn, potential polish. then reapply base LSP.
Again, that's super helpful, John. Many thanks! So I likely will need to reapply the base coating of 12 month Soft 99 at the end of the year, but not necessarily. Even with 2 cars, happily. the Soft99 comes with so much wax, that the one tin will last 5+ years. Glad that it does not spoil like some other products that have to be used within say a year of first using the product, sadly including TAC Moonlight. You get so much product in a 200 ml bottle of TAC Moonlight that you cannot use it all even if you own two cars and apply it every 6 months. They should offer it in bottles of 75 ml and/or 100 ml.
Just bought dark fusso coat and dark kiwami. Does Fusso Coat and Kiwami has any polishing compound in it? Cause I got some black piano gloss finish plastics and I worry they will get fine scratches on them. Please advise. Thank you
polishing compounds dont cause fine scratches mate thats like washing and drying thats causing that. but no they are both non abrasive mate.
@@ForensicDetailing thanks for your reply
It is ok if i put kiwami first and then fusso coat?
no mate thats not good.
What if u put 2 layers of original fusso coat. I got 2 cans of the original.
Can u do that?
Yes you can but minimal gains m8
how long should i wait in between layering fusso with something like king of gloss?
Unknown but maybe like 30 to 60 mins?
@@ForensicDetailing just wanted to add in, i had done a test section on my cars door comparing all the waxes i had, and by far fusso won. But after sometime all of them were dead and i got my self a tub of KOG when i watched this video. I applied it to the same car, crazy water beading. Lo and behold 1 month passed, during rinsing i noticed where i had applied fusso previously, it was reacting very well to the water. Like the fusso section was sheeting faster making a prominant 'box' if that makes sense. Thought that was pretty cool.
Fusso and collinite 845 on top?
Would it make sense to wax a ceramic coated car?
In theory no, see waxing a coated car video
would kawami work over pb blackhole ? @forensicdetailing
yes mate
@@ForensicDetailing thanks John 👍🏼
can you layer soft99 with ceramic coating?
no m8
Why would you layer a 2nd wax instead of double applying fusso coat or applying it more frequently?
i think if your just interested in making out fusso then 2 layers of fusso is better bang for buck. But the mirror shine for example has no cure time so you can sort of slap it on a few months later to shine it up.
@@ForensicDetailing that's a fair point.
Maybe another question you could answer.. I have the white fusso coat but my new car is dark grey, can it still be used anywhere or should I just give it away?
white fusso absolutely fine on the grey car mate.
Do you prefer fusso over ceramic coatings? If so, why?
no mate, I would leave the coating alone to do its thing.
@@ForensicDetailing Sure. What I meant was, do you like fusso more than ceramic coatings? If you had to choose, whats your pick? Fusso or ceramic?
Oh right. Yes m8 I do
@@ForensicDetailing Lovely, do you care to explain why? I think I lean towards fusso too.
you cant really polish up your car once you coated it. I like that sort of buff and shine approach to car care
Black car. Kiwami or Fusso 99 dark?
kiwammi for looks but fusso for protection
Hi John, can it be suitable to apply Soft99 white wax on top of Fusso coat? Or vice versa? Many thanks.
I dont think its design to go on top at least soft 99 said these 3 will work on top of fusso. proof is always in the pudding though.
Love Fusso , but never topped it off with anything... Cool that Soft 99 made these , guess i would need a gloss meter to see the difference? ;-)
I dont think the gloss meter will tell the different in any of these products if the underlying paintwork is good and polished. But saying that when you buff a fresh wax on regardless of data it adds like a fresh shine, so its like the desire to put something on and buff it too a shine.
Mirror shine is amazing but doesn’t last 3 months. Only Fusso lasts longer
Can't help but feel this layering thing is mumbo jumbo, surely the last product applied is the one which take effect. For instance Fusso covered with Seal & Shine, the Turtle Wax product would be the one who's properties are in effect. Sounds like a waste of time and money 🤷🏼♂
Fair play I think some think this but if you like waxing etc
Fair play I think some think this but if you like waxing etc
John can you tell me how old is the Fusso layer under this three toppings ?
It's freshly applied m8
@@ForensicDetailing thanks my friend 😊
Tennis elbow is hurting just watching. Its not buying it that’s a problem…. It’s applying it that’s the problem. Right I’ll have some of that then. Add to the ever increasing collection of decaying detailing products. Maybe worth something in future if left unopened. I can’t be the only one? 🫣✌️👍🇬🇧
My collection is like a museum too 😂
@@HantsLeo I’m really pleased that’s the case Philip… was beginning to think it’s only me and that I have another problem! 😆👍
