It’s got 100% customer satisfaction, I’ve even had 2 different customers text me 4 months after the service exclaiming how happy they are the wax is still working. (While they inform me after pulling the car out of the spinning brush auto car wash 🙄 lol)

@@arsalanazhar3340 yes, extra sealant over a cured ceramic coat will protect the “finest reserve” and also give you more gloss. The problem is if you have an extremely good coating, it can reject all waxes/sealants that go over it as well if it’s not an Sio2 paste wax.

I have both the M27 and UL+ and prefer the UL+. M27's disappearing technology makes it a nightmare to use on light colored paint as I sometimes forget where I've applied. While UL+ is more "traditional" that it leaves a haze. But it also feels amazingly slick and wipes off super easy.

I can confidently say that the two coats applied to my GLI last October(mid) were going strong through February and into March. I lived in an apartment at time of application, and then we began the house buying and moving process. I knew it would be awhile before the next proper car spa weekend so I put a lot of confidence and trust in a product I had never used before. Actually, a manufacturer I had never used before. I applied inside my parking garage, both coats 24 hours apart. I suppose I should note the paint was deconed but due to poor lighting available, not polished. My car is still fairly slick despite the fallout and contaminants that have since clung to the paintwork, but hydrophobicity has degraded over the last few months. I can't report on Ultra Lock Plus+' gloss degradation as I use ONR(regular) for a QD and that certainly keeps the gloss up ok. But in my experience ONR doesn't aid in hydrophobicity, if anything it may degrade it overtime. That said the Jescar held up GREAT through an Ohio winter with, at minimum, five days of commuting on freeways. Great first impression. So great I switched to their polishing system. Jescar won me over. I highly recommend trying one of or multiple of their products if you haven't yet, you won't be disappointed.

The Jescar polishes are one of my very favorite lines.
I use ONR on any of the paint protectants, and I don't think it's degrading the finish. I actually find it extends the life of whatever I put on - with the exception of Zymol Carbon and Creame waxes. It didn't seem to play well with those. But Optimum Car Wax, Opti-Seal, Gloss Coat, Duragloss 101, 111, Meguiar's M21, Ultimate Liquid Wax, etc all seem to play well with ONR. Thats just my experience though. Your experience may be much different than mine.

Interesting comparison, I'm still a big fan of Wolfgang deep gloss sealant. I know it's out dated but it's still great, especially the SIO2 infused version. I've pretty much stopped using any sealants and just do ceramic coating now. I figure by the time you do all the prep and polishing you may as well spend a few extra dollars and ceramic coat it. Thanks Sandro.

Lets talk about EASE OF CLEANING. The goal of a good detailer is to clean with as minimal effort as possible to minimize potential damage. This is very important because Why spend all that time "sealing" your paint if your just gonna gonna end up leaving swirls in the paint because excessive force is need to remove contaminates during routine washes?
TEST: Sprinkle some dust/dirt on the panel then give a few sprays with water in spraybottle. Let dry so it matts to the paint.
Step1: Attempt to hose off to see which sealant releases the most contaminates.
Step2: Hit her with a basic foam gun then hose off again to see the results,
Step3: Give a wipe with wash mit. (You could do a additional test starting with the Mitt, then let dry and evaluate amount of swirls)

Not sure what he means by saying meguiars hybrid ceramic liquid wax has better hydrophobic properties than M-27. The hydrophobic properties displayed in this video were unbelievably amazing abd I did not get that level of beading or sheeting with hybrid ceramic liquid wax. Plus it didn't last very long. This one I believe is better in every single metric. Water behavior depth of color slickness and definitely durability. But im speaking from simple every day use and weekly neutral ph hand washes. Not chemical exposure. Either way fantastic video! Keep up the amazing work!👍🏼

    What are misconceptions about sealers?
When would I use a sealer and equally when would you not?
And what should I expect it to do?
I'm ok about about ceramic coatings and wax polishes, but confused about sealants.

    • @CarCraftAutoDetailing
      @CarCraftAutoDetailing  2 года назад +3

The best way to think about a sealant is a synthetic wax, so you could use it instead of a natural wax or even as a foundation layer before topping it with a wax or in some cases as a top layer over other sealants or coatings. You wouldn’t tend to use it before a ceramic coating and some cases you wouldn’t use it over a coating unless it’s going to benefit it. The hard thing is that sealants themselves fall into many categories so you also can’t generalise too much.

I really don't see where it would fit into a product range, but then this is CG, and if it sells a bottle, they keep selling it.

Specifically, either refer to the Chemical Guys Jet Seal as "Chemical Guys," as you have transcribed on the panel, or refer to it at "Jet Seal," as you do in your voice over. But mixing the voice-over with the written name on the panel becomes confusing. Again, just a minor critique, intended to help understanding.

I'm not much of a CG fan, but I do think they are going for a different hydrophobic property. There is beading vs. sheeting. Although the other products bead water nicely, CG is sheeting. If you notice, it takes longer to sheet water off the panel, but overall it removes more water off the surface. The 2 others bead water, but more beads remain on the surface which may cause water spotting. On the other hand, sheeting works best when the surface is flooded with water, not so much when sprayed more lightly. Just saying, the car detail world is a trip.😁

Lets talk about WATER SPOTS. Many people do not dry their vehicles after wash, and/or frequently encounter pollen/dust + light rain that leaves pesky Water Spots. Three comment/questions:
    1. Would JETSEAL be better in these situations since it sheds off more completely leaving behind far less beads?
    2. An additional test could include wetting the panel then going over it a couple times with leaf blower as that is how many people dry their vehicles. This way you could evaluate which product leaves behind the least water spots.
    3. Another test is to intentionally let unfiltered tap water DRY on the panel leaving behind spots. Then an hour later give the panel a spray with quick detailer and wipe to see if the dried spots are easier to remove from one sealant to another. If a sealants "superior beading" ends up with those dried beads etched into the product and difficult to remove then maybe its not so good after all.

Those points and your other ones in your other comment are great things to show and I could add a dozen more to your lists 🙂. But there’s also other considerations and nuances to making these videos that you may not fully appreciate until you enter that space. These videos already take the best part of a week to research, plan, film, test and edit and would take far more time if I added more testing and the videos would grow to be far longer and perhaps too long for the average viewer. I have many longer formate detailing vlogs that explore detailing products and techniques as well, and I also run a detailing business, am involved in product development, teach detailing training classes and more. I love what I do but there’s many factors that dictate what I do and time is unfortunately limited.

this is a great video, but meguiars m27 is a hybrid ceramic sealant, which is why it beads off better when water is applied. where as jet seal is just a sealant with no ceramic properties. misinformation on the products you tested, you need to be testing chemicals guys hydro charge plus ceramic spray, combine with hydro slick ceramic paste, then hydro view for maintenance, then apply a wax. chemical guys has good products, just depends on layers of protection and maintenance. usually a glaze, sealant and wax in that order. for ceramic protection, the steps are what I mentioned earlier, overall depends on preference and your wallet.

Why buy two, three or even four products, when you only need one? Well it must be good for the sales department at Chemical Guys, but a complete waste for everyone else.
Jescar Ultralock+ is also just a paint sealant, yet it outperforms the Jetseal by miles.
Jetseal is simply a crappy, overpriced (acrylic?) sealant and I’m amazed that Chemical Guys to this day still market it as their best and longest lasting sealant, yes 12 months they say.
My tests have given the same outcome as this one. I now only use Jetseal in my bathroom to make it slightly easier to clean. 😅

Chemical Guys is the perfect example of how great marketing can be used to make a company with mediocre products sell like hotcakes at massive margins (since the product is likely cheap). The few of us who are critical thinkers see right through the hype of marketing, whether it's about detailing or not, but the masses eat it all up. That's the whole reason why ceramic coatings are marketed to make your car bulletproof and you're never gonna have to wash it again, cuz it WORKS even though it seems obvious they're stretching the truth at best. With that said, sure, I know there are a FEW good products from chemical guys, but that's the exception, not the rule and they're still and always have been overpriced. I liked their hexlogic pads and the stripper scent car freshener spray. The detailing industry overall is jampacked with smoke & mirrors, specially when it comes to protection products. "This product makes your car SHINY and gives it that just detailed look". Nah, what truly makes the car shiny is polishing off the defects. Sure you might get some temporary enhancement on a hazy/swirled car, but that's gonna be gone in a few washes. On a panel with no defects, you can put whatever coating, wax or sealant and in a blind test, I'm almost certain even a trained eye wouldn't be able to tell which has what. This is assuming all the products applied didn't leave any streaks, holograms, smearing, etc. any film some heavy products leave behind often or just overapplying something leaves behind. I know ya'll will disagree with me which is why I'd LOVE to see a proper blind test done, including a panel that's just bare paint polished to perfection. The test could be something like identical hoods all polished to perfection and one of them has CQUK3.0, another has P21S Carnauba Wax (for that "warm" look!), and the other could have say Meguiar's Ultimate Paste Wax for that "plastic" look. They could be identical cars instead of hoods, since that would be a better thing to judge. They'd all have to be positioned equally and have identical lighting conditions at the same angles etc. Maybe someone who had say 4 Identical booths. The cars could be moved around to account for light variations in each booth etc. and the person trying to say which is which would not be able to see the process of course, and then they'd have to repeat the judging of saying which they think has what. Nobody's ever gonna do this haha.
