Hi Pan, I ran across this product on Amazon called 10H Diamond ceramic coating. I've only heard of 9H. Is this something that is new on the market or is it just fluff and a fake product? Is there really such a thing as 10H?
I'm glad you pointed out that the durability tests don't compare to the real world. I've used Meguiars hybrid ceramic wax and 3 months later it's still going strong.
My experience with the chemical guys is after initial cure and buff, let it cure another 2-3 hours (or overnight), then buff again, the gloss and slickness actually increases. I think it's because this product has more oils and needs to dry completely.Other tip is to use the detailer spray every other wash, that keeps it is good shape. Product is definitely more expensive, but goes a long way - in fact, I would warn against applying too much, works better with a thing coat.
When I bought my Corvette I needed something. Just from the ads and their how-to videos I did the Chemical Guys. While it's more expensive you use so little of it, I just reapply it.
Was debating on both of these at the store yesterday and I ended up going with the Meguiar's ( due to $20+ price difference). I washed my car, did a clay bar treatment, washed again, then used the Meguiar's with a Ryobi 10in buffer. The car looks great. The wax doesnt pop as much as you would expect, HOWEVER the car feels smooth like glass. Could be due to the clay bar but the combination is great. I recommend it to PROTECT your vehicle from elements. If you want something to make your car shine, I recommend something else with carnauba wax or along those lines.
I've used the Meguiars on several vehicles now... I've noticed that the shine "pops" depending on the paint color and how it's prepped. One thing I've also noticed is that if you have some product/wax/sealant/etc already settled into the paint before you apply the Meguiars, it does very well and holds up... I'm not sure why, but it brings the shine out a little more and the durability is the same whether it's stripped or not.
That’s why I like the Hydro slick more. After it cures you can still carnauba wax over it because it’s a hybrid wax with ceramic wax properties but it doesn’t form a “shell layer” like a standard ceramic wax. The hydro slick is more infused into the paint as opposed to being layered on top of it. Using butter wet wax after letting this stuff cure makes the car look deep and rich in color.
@@fxrsniper1 so I’ve learned. I’ve since come a long way in proper detailing etiquette and have corrected the proper steps to take. I also learned you seal and glaze before hydroslicking as well.
Great review, for me as a hobbyist the value is most important. So that's why I mostly make use of the meguiars products, just because of their price/quality ratio. Greetings from the Netherlands!
Iv been a Meguiars fan boy for years now since my first car. Maguiars products stand true to their test and have never let me down especially for the price and ease of accessibility to purchase.
@@LucciOW funny i would have said Chemical guys is more worth it in the US because you guys get free shipping. CG is obviously overhyped but they do make some great products (the cherry quick detailer they have is VERY good, arguably one of the best out there).
The hair is tight and clean again! Love these real time product reviews and head to heads. Keep up the PANtastic work! This is the only channel I have notifications on :)
Ive been using Maguires for 23 years now. Ive tried so many of the competitors products over the past 5 years. I just keep going back to Maguires. I like their professional line, and their ultimate compound and polish is actually pretty amazing for amateur use or professional.
Watching Pan is always encouraging. I literally trust what you say man and I go off of what you get. I am in love with TurtleWax ceramoc coating and have pretty much every tool you got. You have helped my business grow alot. I actually dress professional now when going to do jobs and people actually compliment and tell me that they feel like there vehicles are getting put in the best of hands. Even how you talk I have some how incorporated that into my salesmanship and it has dramatically increased business for me. Detailing is not full time yet for I am in the oil and gas industry, and make some pretty good money from it. But I am extremely close to going full time with detailing now and I guess I owe it to you. Stay humble Pan and always continue to bring the content you bring buddy.
13:08 This is why I truly appreciate your content, not only do you speak your opinion, you go above and beyond to speak with your fellow experts to get their take and even put in the time adding screen shots of the gloss readings!! I tip my hat to you sir!! 👍👍🙌
I've used the Chemical Guys HydroSlick on a few customers cars and they absolutely love results. Sometimes difficult to remove if you wait longer than 30 seconds after applying before removal ,however amazing results
It seems this is a niche product for old-schoolers who can't bring themselves to use a spray. Even though the modern sprays offer more. Thanks for a great video
I've had the Meguiers on my car for over a year now. I have done 2 spray detail updates after washing (usually wash once/month) but not sure that did much more than the liquid applications was already providing. Temps in my area range from 20F in the winter to over 100F in the summer. The car spends 50% nights indoors and is outdoor all day at work.
As someone who started out as a product tester for Autogeek in FL before I started detailing when both these guys and DohDoh juice started out idk 17-18 years ago. I've noticed chemical guys are more of a mass production, get their products in everyone's hands kind of company. Meguiers have always been the product, along with Mother's. They make some decent stuff if you have seen Data sheets for them. But some they flat out lie about silicone and Solvent content.
I really like the Meguiars and find that using P&S Bead Maker in between washes maintains the hydrophobic properties much longer. Also, as you mentioned the cost is about a third less so that's a huge factor for almost equal performance.
I used the Meguiars hybrid ceramic liquid wax. It gives great gloss to my black car. It smells great, is easy to apply and the price is ok. I detailed the car on the 4th of april and the beading and gloss is still awesome. Loved the video as usual👍🏻
Chemical guys has a product called Black Light. It's a glaze designed for black paint, and it is hands down one of the best products I've used on my car in terms of depth and gloss.
@@steveolie985 they have a soap, but it's largely a scam. Soap is pretty much soap, and doesn't discriminate based on color. But they also have a glaze called Black Light.
So you don’t do it over again like every week? What i wash my car today than wax than like 2 days later I decided to wash my car , can I still put more wax on at the end ?
I’ve used the Hydro-Slick product before (still do on all our cars). It’s good for 3-5 months on our car left outside and 8-10 months on our garaged cars. Good product.
I’ve used the Meguires Hybrid Ceramic Wax and I’m delighted with the end result. The whole time from start to end of the wash process and wax application takes about 90mins on my UK Ford Ranger. Looks fantastic,in Agate Black on the day that it’s done. I wax it every three months.
great review Pan, agreed the Meg's Detailer is awesome, and i use it after each wash, Meg's are providing some good products, just like TW - CG Hydro products are too expensive.
@@kahluacoke also new AM Details Hybrid range puts them all to shame now - my Outback now has Hybrid Sealant and Detailer applied, and it stunning, easy to wash, even the bird sh*t just slides off!
I just purchased the CG hydroslick and used it. Seems to work pretty good. The shine after the 24hr cure, was ridiculous. Its really my first time doing the polish and then ceramic and sealant. Its pretty slick
I'm a new guy when it comes to owning a car. Needless to say i'm very much clueless when it comes to detailing and maintaining cars. You're a lifesaver Pan! Thank you for the informative videos! Greetings from Philippines! 🇵🇭
I use the Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Liquid as a topper for the Pro Hybrid Ceramic Sealant (M27) similar to the Jescar Power lock and Collinite 845 combo so far great results. As always thanks Pannnnn The Organizer.
Is the M27 actually better or it's just available by the gallon? I know it should be the professional product but I'm not convinced it's better. Any data on this?
That maguires spray ceramic detailer is absolutely incredible! I was a griots detailer kinda guy and loved it. Then I tried meguires randomly and my God I was blown away at how much gloss and depth I gained on my black car
Very disappointed in meguiars on this product. Don't love the water beading on either and they broke down so easily. TW Ceramic Spray coating and seal n shine beat the brakes off of both of these. I also enjoy Fusso coat soft99 for beading and extreme durability. These two products from chemical guys and meguiars to me are simply not worth the price time or effort. TW to me has stepped up bigtime to take the lead for the mainstream consumer product category while simultaneously having really close to professional results for a bargain basement consumer product price. Another fantastically detailed and amazingly executed video Pan! Great work and a big thumbs up to the Absolute BEST ON THE PLANET! PAAAAAAN THE ORGANIZER FOR THE WIN!!!! AGAIN!!!!!👍🏼
Thank you for your comparison. I had purchased the Chemical Guys Complete Clay Bar kit. I had 3 years of rust spots accumulating from brake dust. Man what a job to clean off. I will check out your Ceramic videos as I wan tot go the high road for protection as I live near the ocean and we have bery moist salty air. Thanks again Pan.
Great video! I thought about using the Meguiar’s Wax and Detailer today on our Journey. I like the disappearing effect Meguiar’s has and have heard the Detailer is awesome.
Great video Pan.I have bought this two products before seeing your video and I was so interested to watch your video about this two .I found Meguiar's working better on my car and seeing even a difference of shining, overall I love Meguiar's products they are cheaper and never disappointed me!Thank you
Just applied the chemical guys hydro and I absolutely was shocked how easy it was and how well it worked. Definitely more pricey but either way the car looks great and is protected

Awesome video! You did a very good job describing everything in detail. Personally, I would go with the Meguiar’s over chemical guys due to Meguiar’s being much more affordable for what kind of results it brings.
The stack of Meguires M27 Hybrid Ceramic Sealant, Ceramic Liquid Wax and Hybrid Ceramic Detailer is known to give great gloss, and chemical resistance.
Did a proper 3 stage correction then used hydro slick. Lasted 9 months strong using hydro suds every third week with maint. wash. Then stripped all wax and silica soap, polished, then applied carbon force and did the suggested maint wash again using suds and every 6 months apply hydro slick. Looks brand new for a 16yr old jeep wk
The one thing I noticed is when you rinsed the hood off the water didn't bead up on the meguiars side but it sure let the water slide off nicely. I like that better than the beading
I used the Meguires so long ago I forgot when I put it on Im guessing 8-12 months. Put it on a daily driver pickup. I drive 180 miles once a week to work. I washed my truck today for the first time since I out the wax on. It was completely filthy. It came clean very easily and the water was still sheeting off. The bugs on the grill were baked on in the south tx sun and 85% came off very easily. The truck dried quickly with a single pass of a microfiber towel. The truck had a very nice shine to it. It is no longer my daily driver as I recently bought a jeep to give my truck a break. Just applied the same wax to my black jeep and it looks amazing.
Hi, Pan. Thanks from me in Sweden and thanks a lot for another great video. Great to see my Meguiar's Ceramic Liquid Wax compared. I know it's not a professional product. But being a "Weekend Warrior" I like to maintain my car in perfect condition. And that's what I do with the products i've chosen.
I've been using the Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic spray for some time and have loved it. I just purchased the new liquid wax before seeing your video and I did. I plan to apply it to my car this afternoon. Thanks very much for all your work in this! Great job!
Thanks for watching and commenting Peter! I still prefer the spray version of the Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Wax though. Next, if you want to step it up with even better performance and durability, you should try the new Turtle Wax Flex Wax which I reviewed here: ruclips.net/video/b5BjDzItlr8/видео.html
@@PanTheOrganizer Thanks much Pan! I will check that out today. By the way, the new Meguiar's product was very easy to apply and took very little time. This will be easy to do every 4-6 months as needed.
Very well done vid...excellent job and thank you. I have used the Meguiar's on Wife's GC...impressive...did a full compound first. Just went through first wash after week of driving. Very impressive...shiny and slick and almost no water to speak of in the vehicle. Doing my personal this week with it.
Thanks, but I can't recommend either of these products, as there are much better ones in the category. What an awesome test. I use Chemical Guys and Meguiar's regularly and in general you do get what you pay for. I like Meguiar's as a product anyone can buy and use with little effort with good results. I like Chemical Guys because it's more of a enthusiast product with a little more effort to apply but with better more long lasting results. For me doing more pro level detailing, Chemical guys, AMMO and other products you've had on really are becoming my go to for better results. Thank you Pan!
After 5 years and 1000s of dollars, carfidant scratch and sell remover and Griot's ceramic 3 in 1 is the absolute best combination I've ever used BY A MILE!!!. I tried both of these and meguiars lasted about a day.
Great video pan ! I think I'm still happy with my purchase of TW ceramic spray coating for a 1/3 of the price. Great depth and gloss and water behavior is amazing
Pan TheOrganizer quick question on the TW ceramic spray. Bought it based on your prior review but noticed it doesn’t have a lot of slickness. When I add a detailed spray on top, the slickness is there. Is this your experience? Thx
I have watched many videos, along with this one, on ceramic waxes. I decided to go with the Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax. Of all of them I watched, this is the one I keep coming back to so I have the best understanding how to apply it correctly. Thank you Pan.

@@PanTheOrganizer I bought the chemical guys gel wax during Amazon prime day sale. I follow chemical guy site and I guess Google showed me other detailers. Anyway your testing shows options to the chemical guys products. In the USA at Amazon I can get the Meguiars ceramic liquid wax for $17.10 before tax after your comparison I ordered a bottle to try. Thanks again. Keep up the good work. Al, NJ, USA
I'm still using collinite 845 and turtle wax seal n shine. Nothing for me has topped either product yet in the price range. My favorites. Another great vid. Thanks PTO!
I'd say they are pretty much equal. I'm older than you and got started in detailing my own car in 1984, bought Mother's at a nearby shop and had to park in the shade to wash and wax the car, and it was black! Didn't know jack at that time, but I was doing my best.I didn't get serious about detailing until about 2012 and that's when I went all out, spending a few thousand a year on all the different products and tools for the job, had my garage customized with cabinets and shelves and had the floor done with the flakes added in, if I could have just added a lift😁 Sold that house and just renting now, sucks I have no place to detail for now!
Thanks for the demo. Personally, I have found that the Turtle Wax Hybrid spray is better value than either of these at about $13 per bottle. It is more hydrophobic and it holds up better to the chemical tests than either of these. I think that your demos for the Turtle Wax product bear this out.
I second this!! Best wheel cleaner ive ever used. Their shampoo is sooo cost effective! And the double speed wax is super cheap for the results 🤙🏼 They do also have other products which are all amazing but the 3 i list are the standout products 👌🏼
I'm extremely impressed with how thorough and truly professional you are with your videos. Gonna start calling you Pan the Pro!!! 😎. I got the chemical guys product about two weeks ago, have yet to use it on my mustang but I am going to get a modesta ceramic coating done to my ride soon!
I actually bought the meguiars and tried it just because I was like let me see what this ceramic stuff is all about, usually I will just seal my paint with paste wax or something else and this stuff is actually pretty great the hydrophobic effect was much more profound than when I usually detail my car. Usually by the second detail wash their is usually very little waterbead left and I have to redo a wax/sealer
I do really enjoy all of the chemical guy products, just makes it nice & easy to use their products, plus all the bottles together look sweet on the shelve!
I have a 2016 Dodge Challenger that has never been detailed. I bought the Meguiars clay bars, 110 Compound and 210 Polish and the Hybrid Ceramic Wax and am using the Bauer Long throw DA Polisher. Since I am doing 4 steps (clay bar, compound, polish, wax) I am completing sections at a time. So far I've completed the front of the car (hood, front quarter panels and grill). I am very pleased with the results. The compound and polish even brought back the stickers on the hood. I plan to do regular, post car washing maintenance using Turtle Wax Ice spray on detailer/wax after watching some YT videos on it's seemingly solid performance. Super anxious to finish up tomorrow morning when the temp is cool.

Good review I was at the store today debating on the 2. I ended up getting the Chemical Guys just to experiment the "ceramic". I plan on getting a high quality ceramic coating or nano silica. I did clay before applied the Hydroslick and it feels amazing.

The chemical guys is a bit more expensive but I've found it to be worth it for how much less you need to apply to achieve the same results and how much longer it lasts. For only 20$ more it's worth it for the better protection especially since you'll go through 2 bottles of McGuiare's in the same time you'd go through one of the chemical guys.

Nice review. You give a very good job of your reviewing. Good choice of words. Not too wordy or chatty with unnecessary words like so many others. I did try the Mequiar spray. It was just ok. But after a few months, I stripped it off and re-detailed with normal polishing, sealer and wax. Might consider the CG's products soon. Thanks for the review.
Hey Pan, greetings from Barbados in the Caribbean. That was a great demo. THANKS for sharing. I was wondering if you have any experience with Surf City Products and what your thoughts are? That's what is mostly Available here on island. I would appreciate your very valid opinion. Thank you so much Pan.
one thing I like about Hydroslick is that it has really decent scratch filler properties compared to meguires, which is perfect for old cars with decent paint that aren't worth repainting or correcting lol

Basically what I've learned from all these torture test videos from everybody with all these different waxes and ceramic waxes is that I'm better off saving my money and spending $10-15 on Turtle Wax Ice Seal and Shine, stuff is virtually indestructible, gives a good gloss and is fairly easy to apply.
@@PanTheOrganizer lol.. I just finished putting a coat of turtlewax ceramic spray coating on the SUV. From wash to final removal using Eagle edgeless 350 GSM towels 3.2 hours..😎 🇨🇦
Not submitting vehicle to chemical onslaught: My Truck is damn near painted in tar after my local street crew tarred one side of the street (uphill side) then watched all the tar flow downhill into the traffic lane. INCOMING MAJOR CHEMICAL ONSLAUGHT to get it cleaned. (claim filed against the city -- it's really that bad) Would be a good thing to make a video about. I pray my finish isn't completely dead after the solvents I'm going to have to use. imo: The vehicle treatment is DOA if you hit it with harsh chemicals. So I wouldn't pay double for moderately more chemical protection. Simply plan on touching up and re-doing every 2-3 months. question: what do you think of using the spray on Meguires for touch up between full treatments?
I purchased the Meguiar's prior to watching this video . Today I did the clay bar and a polishing to prep for the Meguiar's ceramic WaX tomorrow. Thanks for the vid

Hi Pan, thank you for the video. I haven't bought either product yet. I have used Chemical Guys SiO2 infused Hydro Speed Quick Detailer after washing my car and applied it over a layer of Collinite Insulator Wax. I love the Hydro Speed as a topper to the wax. So, far it is providing excellent slickness, and water beading after about 3 months. It is also very easy to apply.
@@PanTheOrganizer Hi Pan, I found your channel while watching car detailing videos. I subscribed to your channel and have learned soooo much about car washing and detailing. I have bought many products I saw on your videos such as the grit guards, detail guards for my tires, microfiber towels & applicators, Chemical Guys VRP. I use 4 buckets: one for tires/wheels; one for washing; one for rinsing; and a bucket of clean water when I wipe down the door jambs, trunk edges and gas cap. I have a 2017Audi A4 that I love and wash it 3-4 times a month. I also wash/detail my wife's Honda CRV and help my daughters wash their cars.
From an additional value perspective, given the different chemical consistencies of each product, how many cars/bottle would you estimate you could get from each? I doubt you would get get twice the number of cars with the CG product over the Meguiar's product, but given the fact that the Meguiar's product was "weaker" with your basic tests (and more of a liquid vice gel like the CG product), it seems to reason that you would apply more of the Meguiar's product over time, thus making the value gap difference between the two products potentially smaller than initially thought...

Well I just found you DID try this HYDROSILEX , going there to see if you like it as much as I. Keep testing And showing us.
use the hydro charge first then use the hydro slick it will be more shiny
It's excellent the way u explain in full detail, product preparation and durability factors. Definitely professional!!!
Thanks I appreciate it!
Used Meguires 8-12 months ago. Washed truck for first time today. Cleaned super easy, nice and shiny and still feels like glass.

Iv been a Meguiars fan boy for years now since my first car. Maguiars products stand true to their test and have never let me down especially for the price and ease of accessibility to purchase.
The Chemical Guys bottle is twice as more expensive in Canada than the Meguiars. That's a big difference right there...
$25 for the meguires at canadian tire
Is it any better tho
Its also far more durable.
CG isn’t worth is in the US anyways
@@LucciOW funny i would have said Chemical guys is more worth it in the US because you guys get free shipping. CG is obviously overhyped but they do make some great products (the cherry quick detailer they have is VERY good, arguably one of the best out there).

Heheh yes finally! Bye bye covid hair! :)

Great point!
The Meguiars liquid wax is actually better than the spray wax. It lasts more and the water beading is slightly better
Are to confused liquid lasts much longer than spray. Never I have I ever seen a spray last longer in my own experience.
Can't get enough of your channel! Keep the awesome content coming. You're the best Pan!
Hey thanks Joseph!
I used the Meguiars hybrid ceramic liquid wax. It gives great gloss to my black car. It smells great, is easy to apply and the price is ok. I detailed the car on the 4th of april and the beading and gloss is still awesome. Loved the video as usual👍🏻
Thanks Andy!
Chemical guys has a product called Black Light. It's a glaze designed for black paint, and it is hands down one of the best products I've used on my car in terms of depth and gloss.
@@sargvsu Isnt it a black car soap ? I have a dark grey metallic, but I've been told to look into that.
Great video Pan, I love Meguiar's products, was going to pick up some during the week so I think I'll add this to the list. Greeting from Ireland
Thanks Rory!
Thanks!
Yeah, definitely agree with you that the CG Hydro products are expensive. The cost where I am is at least double the Meg's products.
@@kahluacoke also new AM Details Hybrid range puts them all to shame now - my Outback now has Hybrid Sealant and Detailer applied, and it stunning, easy to wash, even the bird sh*t just slides off!

This is a great comparison, I already have meguirs liquid wax & it produces great results & now I'm contemplating trying hydroslick
I just purchased the CG hydroslick and used it. Seems to work pretty good. The shine after the 24hr cure, was ridiculous. Its really my first time doing the polish and then ceramic and sealant. Its pretty slick
Yes slickness after 24h is very good on the CG.

Going to try aftrr reading your comment. I'm a collinite guy ;)
Thanks for another great job explaining the products and giving your viewers a no BS comparison.
Thanks John!
AGAIN!!!!!👍🏼

i havent used the meguiars product before. always used the chemical guys hyroslick. and i love it. it works well for me
The stack of Meguires M27 Hybrid Ceramic Sealant, Ceramic Liquid Wax and Hybrid Ceramic Detailer is known to give great gloss, and chemical resistance.
I like that he’s thorough in how he tests the different products.
Thanks Farrell!
The one thing I noticed is when you rinsed the hood off the water didn't bead up on the meguiars side but it sure let the water slide off nicely. I like that better than the beading
2 drops of McGuires vs 5 on the chemical guys side?
