    I just wanted to thank you for the detailed, honest and rigorous testing you do on this channel! You are the singular trustworthy voice I have found that has anything to do with testing detailing products in an objective, unbiased and scientific manner.
    I don’t understand how anyone who has stumbled upon your testing could spend another cent on a product without testing data to back up the manufacturer claims. The UV results alone from your testing should be a huge red flag and an eye opener to everyone.
    With manufactures constantly rebranding their products I hope you continue your wonderful testing for many years to come! I need to start making a habit of purchasing well performing products you review with a stable shelf life before next years version comes out and who knows what has changed!

    You said it perfectly, if you wanna wash your car and coat it, it’s perfect.
    I got a brand new car July of 2023, I didn’t need any paint correction as everyone was trying to push. The three tunnel washes I had didn’t ruin my paint. If I’d known what I do now, I would’ve bought Cerakote after I left the dealership and would’ve thoroughly coated my car. I’ve only applied it once so far, it’s great, but I will be adding multiple coatings before next winter. Great review. Thanks.

The shine is crazy and it goes on easy.I put an extra coat on after one day to get it to pop even more.I will be trying the trim wipes next.

    We just purchased a brand new 2024 Mazda CX5 a week ago and the dealer detailed the car before we picked it up. The paint on the car was shiny and sleek and we decided to seal the paint using the Cerakote Rapid Ceramic Paint Sealant. We lightly rinsed the car to get rid of any dust and towel dried the car and we parked the in the garage to let it cool and completely dry out before we applied the sealant. We did one coat (and it was easy on easy off in about 45 minutes) and waited two hours for the coating to cure then applied another coat. We let the car sit in the garage over night. In the morning we checked the result and we were very impressed with the shine and sleek. Since the sealant was very easy to apply we don't mind applying it again after every car wash.

    Have you compared your new wash testing methodology (sorry not sure when you started using the machine) to your old hood washing? Example, a product that went 50 washes in your old test methodology, did it go 50 washes in your new one? Those terrys and the bar pressure could be quite a bit more abrasive compared to a noodle mitt applied by hand to a vertical panel.

    • @DmitrysGarage
      @DmitrysGarage  7 месяцев назад

      It is a bit less gentle, but we still see products getting 100s of washes, even 1000 washes (our cap) was achieved by a coating recently. Keep in mind the 3d printed inserts that hold the terry applicators, are not locked into the bar/arm. This is why you see me push down on them to level them out before the test starts, they are weighted however. There is also more shampoo in the mix, so the lubricity is increased. Also we're no longer doing sub 10 wash tests, so a lot of the low durability products are no longer getting those 3, 4, 5, 7 wash scores.

    • @sheepstardetail
      @sheepstardetail 7 месяцев назад

      @@DmitrysGarageinteresting! I was going to say your past dedication to hand washing was going to give you a massive RSI one day. I started using high activity snow foam as my wash resistance test, since it’s something actually used, and it’s high cleaning ability tells the story of whether or not the product can withstand a harsh chemical, without subjecting the paint to chemicals that would never be used in a normal wash.

    SLICKNESS Test could be heavily dependent on short-lived gloss enhancers that are gone after a wash or rain. It could be more relevant run the slickness test after a quick wash & dry to better simulate real-world conditions.

    • @DmitrysGarage
      @DmitrysGarage  7 месяцев назад +3

      That is definitely an interesting proposition. I think one question too is how long the shorter lived properties may last. Is it one wash, or 5? I will definitely consider this though.

    Something is up with that scrubbing machine, seems to kill protection way faster than traditional wash. I literally just did a 10 wash test after 48 hours on the paint and Cerakote Rapid Selant had ZERO signs of wear. Also threw on some APC and again zero signs of wear.

    • @DmitrysGarage
      @DmitrysGarage  4 месяца назад

      The elcometer is not as gentle as hand washing. The goal of the 2.0 suite durability test is to have a very standardized abrasion test to figure out how durable the product is compared to others rather than to compare it to normal washes that can vary significantly. I see some other coatings going for thousands of passes on it vs. the cerakote. Apcs are a different kind of test, that is chemical resistance. I don’t do those as most people dont wash their cars with apcs.

    • @DmitrysGarage
      @DmitrysGarage  6 месяцев назад

      20 degrees is the setting for high gloss surfaces, 60 is for semi-gloss, and 80 and greater are for duller surfaces. The 20 degree angle helps better account for haze and other imperfections in very glossy surfaces more dead on angles will miss. If you’re seeing others do it differently, I suspect some other reviewers may have not read the manual for their unit :).

      I think durability was possibly the only real let down, other than that I think it was good in most other categories.
