I didn't think so from my experience personally. The Cerekote did absolutely nothing on my Audi headlights. Had to break out the 3M kit, and that took care of it.
Going to the cerakote facility will be a really good experience for you. I was a painter before I was a detailer.every time I went to a PPG training I would pick up a lot of insight and knowledge.
Hi Josh, Mike from Fleetwood PA., Was manager of detail shop of a new car dealership, since retired and doing detailing at home now. Not really impressed with your results and that was a panel with sprayed with water hose a few times for what a total of maybe 15min?, and it flattened out in shine from beginning. However price fairly reasonable, have you tried to compare it with these that I use! Now I wash and clay then use these cermanic products, Next Gen, Hydrosilex, and Hays ceramic coatings all spray on very easily. On my own car all of these lasted around 6 months. A little more expensive though. I dont know if you have heard of ClayZilla?, it came out about 7 to 10 yrs ago. They sold out in 1st 6 months, then about 3 yrs ago the company making them went out of business and noone took it over. SurfCity garage still has it listed as out of stock. I new the manager they were devasted when they couldn't get it any more. It looks like a pc mouse with a special velcrow pad, Surfcity sent me one before they started selling it to test it, It is so simple and looking at it you would think this thing will clean the paint, but it does 200% easier and faster than clay bar. I did 50 vehicles before changing to a new pad. Any way last year I bought out every clayzilla pad I could find. I would never go back to a clay bar. Its to bad this product went out of business, there are clones out there or copies of clayzilla but the pad is the key that they dont have. I am 70yrs young and have been building streetrods and detailing since 1971. Ok later sorry for the long comment! Mike
Fair test with a good lesson on after care aesthetics maintenance in the area of choice of car cleaning products. I can't help but wonder if the Cerakote Rapid Ceramic paint sealant product would have performed better on a properly prepared, applied, oven cured and ambient flashed surface of an H-series coating. This could be something to explore when you take your upcoming Cerakote factory tour.
You've convinced me to get Ceracote ceramic sealant now! You and a buddy of mine mentioned how amazing the product works and how easy it is to apply. The water beads off so quickly.
Just started using cerakote. I just bought a new car as well. I have applied many different expensive and inexpensive ceramic coatings and cerakote was by far the easiest. No issues with streaking and great shine. Will wait and see how durable it is after applying two coats over a 4 day period.
Just picked this product up for use on my boat. Once I've completed the full hull cleaning and polish, I''l be pretty interested in seeing what the longevity is in a marine environment.
I just tried technicians choice for the first time, based on your recommendation. It works great. There isn't a huge difference between the three. Considering that cerakote is twice as much as technicians choice, I`ll stick with it.
I mix the TC at 1 part chemical to 0.5 part distilled water for after a wash once a base coat is installed. I rinse and spreay down the whole car with the TC and do a normal towel dry and never get any streaks.
I dont know why i see so many videos of people torture testing Techicians choice detail spray, which typically last a few weeks, against sealants which lasts months. For detail sprays, protection is a secondary bonus feature. Whereas for sealants, that's the primary feature, so it doesn't sound fair to me to compare the two.
That’s a very fair point. I think it’s cause as a detail spray, the technicians choice performs way better than just a detail spray. But I do agree with you.
Tecnician choice is at a disadvantage, wheel out line on the door, it slows down the sheeting process. Water sheets then builds up at the wheel outline, forcing the water to go down to the left. Causing a restriction and slowing down Tec sheeting abillty. Im not trying to be negative or anything like that. I appreciate u taking ur own time and money to record edited and post ur vids. Im just stating the other 2 products have a wider sheeting area from start to finish to allow the products and gravity to do its job. From sudbury ontario Canada, I was in Florida, got some spray coatings, Cerakote was one of them. Not sure if u ever tested White Diamond ceramic infused graphene spray. If u havent, Id love to see u test that and give ur opinion on tjat product. Thanks for ur vids
Great products! I used Cerakote’s trim coating on my lawn mower and all the garden tools it makes them always looking brand new and keeps the grass from sticking. I would love to win!
I did my headlights with the trim coat useing the instructions from the headlight kit but started at 1000 grit wet sanding had no headlight cleaner lol had the exact same results if you buy ure own sand paper and get the trim coat id say ure better off 10 wipes over 5. did 1 headlight as a test now that side is shining.
You always want any sort of tar remover to be the last test, since most of them are solvent-based products and that's usually a spray coating killer. I learned that from Martin Weatherspoon. He also takes a good soap like Hybrid Solutions Slick-n-Slide between test products. Seems to work very well for cleansing the panel of the test chemicals. That said, I always love watching your videos and product reviews! Keep 'em coming Josh!
Thanks! Yea that make sense with the tar remover. As far as the soap between passes, that makes a tone of sense to me but to be honest i tested it that way first and the soap seemed to have a slight effect as well. To be fair I just used some meguiars gold class that I have close by and it may have had something in that was effecting the contact angle of the ceramic products
Ive used Flex Wax and Technicians choice and think both are great. But Technicians Choice is a much better value, so currently is my go to. I wash my cars every three or four weeks and apply a new coat, so the durability is not an issue. I've never noticed either one breaking down
I tried the Flex but currently using Megs Ceramic blue spray. I like the Megs better. The Flex and Megs HCW can both be applied to a wet surface unlike the Cerakote. Apex tested Flex and got a 100 on his gloss meter. I wonder what a gloss meter would read on the Cerakote.
Every so often my ceramic coat stops beading. I've found using a strip wax like Adams in a foam sprayer can remove the film like your protein and make it bead again. I've seen enough videos and tried it enough to know that a strip wax twice a year won't harm the ceramic coat.
This is the honest review that I left on Amazon after my awful experience with Cerakote Rapid Ceramic Paint Sealant. There are many other reviews that say basically the same thing. I will say that the headlight treatment has worked great, so far. It's only been a month so I'll see how long it lasts. The plastic treatment worked good at first, but is failing in spots after only 1 month. I'll never by these products again. Total scam on the paint sealant! This stuff left a worse finish on my truck than the original finish, which is sticky. My Dodge truck came from the factory with a clear coat finish called Pearl Coat. It has a nice reflective, shiny finish. But it is sticky and collects dust and dirt and is hard to keep clean. I thought Cerakote would do the trick to slick up the finish and make it easier to clean and keep clean and shiny. WRONG! The finish left on my truck after following the instructions and watching the youtube application video, and applying two coats, is worse than the original finish. IT IS NOT SLICK! After washing or rain, water actually sticks to the vertical sides of my truck! WATER DOESN'T EVEN RUN DOWN THE SIDE OF MY TRUCK! Instead, the water beads up in tiny little beads and clings to the surface like a mist. It is much worse than the original finish, which would at least allow the water to run off the sides. Total waste of money and much effort, FOR NOTHING. Can't wait for it to wear off because it's even harder to wash now, seeing as I have to scrub off the road film and stuff that should just rinse off with the pressure washer. I could not be more disappointed and ticked off!
Oh man I’m sorry to hear that you had splice a bad experience with it. Did you do any paint prep on the vehicle? Sometimes there can be things left on the paint from transport that need to be clayed to remove. If you apply something like this over the top it won’t be able to do what it’s meant to do. If you clay the car it should help significantly
Yeah, well, there was nothing in the instructions, videos or commercials about claying the finish first. Just wash thoroughly, dry completely and apply per instructions. That's what I did, twice. The result was not as advertised. Many others on Amazon reviews had the same result as me too.@@imjoshv
Cerakote makes excellent “Made in the U.S.A.” products that do not disppoint. I was surprised when they entered the car care market, but they are welcome addition to the vehicle detailing industry.
My car came with Ceramic coat from dealer, love but is expensive. Worth it if you've the funds, I want to learn how do it myself. Hopefully on my next car I can do it myself.
Josh - you turned me on to Technicians Choice and I've never looked back. Nice video, but since I'm using TEC as a topper on my ceramic coating, I'm gonna stick with it.
Depends on what you want. Technicians choice is definitely cheaper, but the gloss enhancement is significantly better with the Cerakote. I’ll have both on my shelf
Bro you need to try Duraslic's new FlowX ceramic Topper. It's incredible. By far the best spray ceramic I've tried. Crazy high solids. It's not cheap at $99 a bottle but it works incredibly well. The water angle is wild.
Looks like Cerakote is the winner if it’s as easy to apply as Technicians Choice. Bought TC based on your recommendation and love it but that gloss and higher performance might make me get that once my bottle of TC is out. Thanks for the reviews and tests!
So this is pretty much like technicians choice? Meaning once I dry my car I spray this on it and buff it off instead of the TC. I use TC after every wash and love it.
Cerakote does seem to have a more deeper result than Turtle Wax or Technicians Choice. Turtle Wax is a close second. Thank you for the review! Have you ever tested Torque Detail products?
Josh, I found a topper that is excellent maybe better than the cerakote. Have you taken a look at Xtreme solutions topper? By the way how often should one apply a topper should it be done after each wash? I am currently using carpro reset in a foam Cannon and in a bucket for my maintenance washes and then I used the topper for gloss enhancement and hydrophobic enhancement after the wash.
You can tell by the performance you see at hand. Or if you are starting to have trouble cleaning and area and having immediate hydrophobic or hydrophilic results. That would indicate it's getting weak.
Quite honestly, couldn't see much diff between your cited not-coated areas (the wheel flare and the area beneath the window) and the test rectangles, and even in between them. Not-coated looked pretty glossy, too. I'd be interested how a Carnauba waxed rectangle, as benchmark, would fare against the three.
Cerakote makes the best headlamp restorer kit.
Yep!!
Agreed!!! Adams kits is the exact same kit just rebranded plus 3k sanding oad
The 3M kit with the sanding disks is my Gold standard method of restoring headlights.
Please wear a mask when using lol
I didn't think so from my experience personally. The Cerekote did absolutely nothing on my Audi headlights. Had to break out the 3M kit, and that took care of it.
Highly underrated channel. Just started to detail my car and have been addicted to watching.
Going to the cerakote facility will be a really good experience for you.

Great set of products from Cerakote and glad to see the updated results here :) thanks for your dedication to the profession.

I missed this video before, so glad the contest made me come back to watch it - thank you!
You've convinced me to get Ceracote ceramic sealant now! You and a buddy of mine mentioned how amazing the product works and how easy it is to apply. The water beads off so quickly.
Yea especially after the application, the water didn’t want to stick to where the Cerakote rapid ceramic was! I like it alot
Your honesty is refreshing
Great stuff! You make applications look easy. And your results excel. Great job Josh!
I never apply a ceramic coating, but with all your reviews and very helpful guides I would love to try one day. Awesome content!!
Just started using cerakote. I just bought a new car as well. I have applied many different expensive and inexpensive ceramic coatings and cerakote was by far the easiest. No issues with streaking and great shine. Will wait and see how durable it is after applying two coats over a 4 day period.
All 3 look like great products to use for a nice protectant in-between washes.
Great testing results. Looking forward to your visit with Ceracote
Just picked this product up for use on my boat. Once I've completed the full hull cleaning and polish, I''l be pretty interested in seeing what the longevity is in a marine environment.

@@Ihateliberals901 good tech tip ! 👏
Yea the value with the technicians choice is hard to beat.

I bought the technician's choice because of this channel. I use it dry and as a drying agent and love the stuff!!
Your videos are always so informative. Keep up the amazing work. Can't wait for the next one.
Thanks Josh for always giving us the best bang for your buck option. You a real one my G!
Great stuff. Thanks Josh. Appreciate the opportunity.

Great review and follow-up of test results!
As always, thanks for all of the great content on your channel!
Always heard the brand but seeing a comparison of the product is always nice. Thanks Josh.
Loved watching Josh. Very enlightening! I'm off to buy some Cerakote. Thanks Josh for helping me make an informed decision.
A good honest comparison, thanks Josh 👍😁
Great products! I used Cerakote’s trim coating on my lawn mower and all the garden tools it makes them always looking brand new and keeps the grass from sticking. I would love to win!
awesome to see that you were willing to retest the cerakote. i have used the cerakote trim coat before and works great!
Josh's videos are fantastic. Very educational.
Glad you redid the test. I want to try it now. Thanks.
You need to try diy detail Ceramic Gloss.

Great Video!!! I’m still in love with tec choice
Glad u retested it and gave the product a fair shake.
Thanks Josh - Tech 582 is still the best value and so easy to apply
It’s hard to compete with that value for sure! I use it everyday
Thanks for doing all of these giveaways! Your content has been great learning how to care for my car better!
Good comparison and work as always Josh!

Good comparison for the coatings, well done once again.
So glad you gave it a second chance!
Another powerful product. Thank you for bringing these products to use.
This was an awesome test. Thanks for making the video. Awesome.

Thank you Josh for all the videos you do. Helps me out alot!
Always wanted to pull the trigger on a ceramic. Would love to give this a shot!
We need a true coating from cerakote and made more affordable than other coating brands love the content.
Can’t wait to try this product out. Been looking for a ceramic to bring out the black in my 1967 Mustang.
It is awesome that you retested to get a more accurate review.
Thanks for doing these comparisons! Also Thank you for doing these give aways!
Great review. I couldn't decide which one was better.
It’s hard to beat Technicians Choice, but always open to high quality alternatives!
Have had great success with the Tech Choice. A favorite of mine.
Let’s get this winnn josh V. Thanks dude for the videos.

Thanks Josh. Would love to give the CERAKOTE products a try if I were to be the Day 9 winner.
Quick tip.. please use a control panel with no product for future testing
👍👍
Love the videos and thank you for the giveaways, esp for coats a lot of people dont bother to buy ceramic coats for car detailing.
Great product. Havent tried it yet but I love these Cerakote products. Thanks for the review!
I was wondering how good this stuff was, thanks for the review!
Hey Josh, Great video! Look forward to using this product. Thanks!
Your reviews/tests are extremely helpful!
But is it cost effective? Seems like you get twice the amount of product of Technicians Choice Ceramic Detail Spray for the price.
I actually have it but haven’t used it yet. Thanks for the tip though I’ll get on it
I didn't know they made a paint sealant, I'm excited to try it.

Awesome content. Your reviews are outstanding. Really want to try the Cerakote on my black Silverado.
Thanks Josh, happy holidays!
The Christmas giveaway brought me here…the Cerakote looks like a great product.
I haven't gotten a chance to use their products and I definitely would like to try them.
I look forward to trying this product out. Thanks for this review.
So the question is…. TC vs cerakote. Who wins?
Love the videos man, helps me make better decisions about products to try
I love technicians choice aqua glow, and ceramic spray. Been using aqua glow for years, and the ceramic spray since it came out.
Once again, thanks for all your work.
Thanks for reviewing Cerakote products!
I haven't used any ceramic coating but am curious. You sure make it look easy!
Great review on the product! Keep up the great work!
Cerakote does seem to have a more deeper result than Turtle Wax or Technicians Choice. Turtle Wax is a close second. Thank you for the review! Have you ever tested Torque Detail products?
Never tried using any time of coating! I wanna try it
This product Technicians Choice TEC582 Ceramic never available for some reason ...
All right great stuff again Josh. 12 days of awesome giveaways!
I'm glad you did a retake on the Cerakote sealant!
Thanks rich, me too! It’s way better than I initially thought
Seeing this comparison on black you can really see the difference. Great stuff. Would be curious how long it lasts
Heard of this before. Might have to try it now. It looks so deep black. Looks great.
Josh, I found a topper that is excellent maybe better than the cerakote. Have you taken a look at Xtreme solutions topper? That would indicate it's getting weak.
Thank you for all the wonderful reviews.
I have never used a ceramic coating. Would love to win some to try.
Love the test! Thank you for your hard work.
So cool that you retested
Always have wanted to ceramic coat my Jeep Wrangler if I ever do it myself I think cerakote would be my goto
I haven't applied any type of coating in a years. I would like to try it
