- Nissan Qashqai Anti Skid Traction Control Lights On. So the anti skid and traction control lights are both on all the time with no codes from the code reader. I followed a few simple steps to resolve this and get rid of the lights that would mean an MOT failure.
I used these items when fixing the fault :-
Carb Cleaner amzn.to/2MDVtT2
Brake Cable amzn.to/2Qv7Zpb
Code Reader amzn.to/36bjTLl

Many thanks for this video, these lights were intermittently coming on more and more just lately, decided to tackle this today, ended up removing the turbo pipe to give me a bit more room, got the pipe off and cleaned up, just been for a drive and all is ok (no more lights). Would not have had a clue if it wasn't for this video and would probably have been charged a fortune by nissan, thanks again 👍.
Glad you got it sorted and although a pain to do diy it saves a ton of cash.
M8 thanks so much I've been looking for a video just like this one showing me exactly what and how to fix my QQ thanks for your help 😉👍
Glad it helped and was useful.
Brilliant video, thank you!
Great video. Mine was totally blocked in two places. The carb cleaner was a must but after letting it sit overnight and some more persistence I got through. I also used net curtain wire alongside the brake wire as its a bit thicker so allowed for good amounts of cleaning and disturbance to the carbon.
Can be a tricky job but worth the hassle.👍
Gr8 video thank you , actually my QQ just needed a break fluid top up and the lights are off , thanks again .
That's the fix i was looking for as the brake fluid was low.
Good video , thanks for putting up.
Cheers👍
Thanks for sharing 5 minute man 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
No probs. 👍😀
Excellant video, thanks. Sorted my Juke blockage..
Brilliant👍👍
How did you remove the sensor? I’m thinking maybe the end of the sensor has build up, as I’ve removed and cleaned the pipe, albeit wasn’t blocked in the end but nevertheless cleaned it, but the code is still there.
Thanks
Cheers worked a treat
Cool👍👍
Many thanks for this video. Expecting more Qashqai videos :) One question tho, Did the dashboard lights (AntiSkid and Traction) were turned on even after starting the engine? They usually dissappear after a couple a seconds after turning the engine on. I'm asking because my qashqai (same as yours but 1.6dci) will turn on these two control lights after starting the engine (when start/stop is used and the engine stops when you are jammed in traffic). They will go off after 2 seconds. Checked the ECU and no DTC codes.
So starting the engine they come on by default as part of the startup process then they should go out. Mine would come on then stay on from start. The behaviour building up to them being on all the time e would be randomly coming on usually while driving distances. Make sure your brake fluid is at full as mine was halfway and that stopped the correct fault code being produced.
Thanks for the video, just this morning after driving 30 seconds, the stop/start alert start flashing, anti skid light came on along with the red engine light. I followed your instructions as far as removing the sensor, started the engine and there was quite a bit of pressure coming from the pipe. I ran a cable through it as far as I could anyway, it didn't seem like it was blocked either but after re-fitting the sensor, the same problem is there. I wonder if it may be a faulty sensor that is causing the issues? I have the same model petrol engine dualis and wondered if the sensors were the same for the petrol and diesel engines? Cheers.
My Qashqai didnt have stop/start so not sure why yours is playing up like it is. Check again for codes and make sure both starter battery and stop/start are functioning.👍
Great video, can I ask this pipe is right below the sensor?
And as I can see sensor, but I cannot see the pipe
Thanks
It's hard to show as the pipe is right at the back of the engine. The pipe that goes to the sensor is literally under the sensor.
Hi just about to attempt it now , did you torque the bolt to the line the holes up
As far as i could see the bolt does not need to be aligned as it cant be rotated to close off the aperture.
great video ! thx !
did you clean the sensor itself ?
The pressure sensor itself didnt need cleaning.
I know this video is getting a bit old, but i thought i would ask here anyway
I have the same code as you and thanks to your video i was able to get the sensor out easy enough. The tip of the sensor was all blacked out so i cleaned it.
Then acording to another video i blew into the pipe with air to unblock it.
But no luck. I then searched for some carbon cleaner and Google came back with EGR cleaner at a local shop. Not sure if it is the same, but it says it should be for stuff like this.
So into the pipe with the cleaner and also on the sensor. But i still have no luck. It starts fine, but won't rev above 2000 rpm. When i clear the codes it will rev a bit higher but goes straight down to 2000.
I then tried what you said to pull the sensor off with the engine running and a lot of air came out. Along with a bunch of soot. It kept running for a bit with plenty of pressure comming out so i can assume the pipe should be clear?
Could it be the sensor it self? It all started when a air intake for the turbo blew on the highway. I guess by the time i got the car off the highway something could have happened to the sensor?
Did you get loads of black snoke when the intake went? Could be blocked dpf or cat. Check diags for dpf level etc👍👍
@@fiveminuteman Nope. No black smoke when it broke. Maybe i little more white smoke than usual.
Still no black smoke when i start it up now. Though there is some white smoke. To much But nothing major i would say
Having the p0470 on a xtrail M9R engine.
Just did the cleaning of the tube, and the tube was definitely clogged.
But still having the code, and car is in limp mode😢
Nightmare these cars 👍
Can you help my red engine light is on and anti skid light is on I unblocked this pipe but still lights come back in after I start have you any ideas ?? I’m a mechanic myself but got me scratching my head ?
Check the engine codes.
@@fiveminuteman have done it has a couple is faults in engine and abs ecu’s
hi...great video...
the procedure it is the same for Juke 1.5 dci k9 motor? thanks
Expect so, but check
Is this sensor only on engines with the DPF, my 1.5dci doesn't have one.
My engine is k9k, with a dpf.
I have the skid lights come on after about 5 mins of doing 70… only time it comes on. Any idea?
Get a code reader on it👍
Hi, could you tell me what that pipe is actually called so I can order a new one from Nissan?
Exhaust pressure sensor pipe. They should be able to show you via parts diagram.
Thanks guys 🤙🏻
Did You have engine light on red or yellow?
As far as I remember it's the yellow, but should be covered in the video.
No problem.
Hi am having this problem with my car mechanics are saying there won’t touch it as it will snap and cost a lot of money to fix?
They cant have done many,, i would say risk is low. Problem is location and if it does snap you are in a whole world of pain as engone would have to come out
@@fiveminuteman thank you for your reply with I will ask about a bit more now see if I can find someone who will be willing to fix it for me
Is it possible to clean it when it’s still on the car please?
For love nor money will the brake cable go down the pipe no matter what i do. Just tried it there now. Looks like its goin to the mechanic
If it's mega blocked pour some clutch and brake cleaner down the hole and leave over night. Might need to perform this a few times, failing that get a new pipe from Nissan.
@@fiveminuteman tried sprayin the carb cleaner but tackled it straight away not leaving it long enough id say. If my mechanic is around next week ill drop it into him. Herself needs the car all weekend so wont get a chance to go at it
Is it really hard to take off the pipe, might give it a go Saturday, theres an autoparts dealer close by that might have the pipe?
Managed to clean out pipe while still on the car. Carb cleaner and drill method. Reset light. Took it for spin around the block, red light came back on. Any ideas?
@@larchielad you need to check for codes, failing that stick it in a good indie garage👍
Is this for the Nissan quashqi with dpfs fitted only
May get same message without dpf.
@@fiveminuteman I'm getting this fault but Nissan have twice told me mine doesn't have a dpf fitted
@@jimbojombo4464 mine was a 1.5 dci diesel j10 2010 edition👍
Sorry that was supposed to mean early 10 plates didn't get a dpf fitted
I'm not sure I went the full distance? How much cable wire should be cut or go through? I tried this and had little success. I had wd40 foaming up then I'm guessing I opened it up as nothing was coming back up.
I removed the pipe to make sure the wire camenout the other end. Use egr cleaner to clean the pipe. Might need a soak overnight if it's really blocked solid.
@@fiveminuteman This has to be the oldest follow up but I finally broke through yesterday! The best way to check is to use a tyre pump (like the RING one) it was fully blocked when the drill wire went through it has been 0!!!
@@DarkShadowAy we had to also replace the MAP sensor after cleaning the pipe as the skiddy light came on randomly afterwards.👍👍
How do you remove the pipe please?
Should be shown in this video or another.
Have u link to other video on how to remove pipe please?
@@larchielad i dont sorry, it's hard to get to at the back of the engine so take your time and make sure the engine is cool 👍
Did u have to remove anythin to get to it? Anythin in the way?
@@larchielad can't recall anything, it is risky as if a bolt sheers it's engine out job.
can't see at all where this sensor and pipe is from your video
Back of the engine and a third of the way down. Hard to miss it. I just couldn't get a camera down there.
Maybe my english is bad. Bolt size is 13mm, it is hard to reach, so pain in the ass to guess the size. I heard that he said 14… 😂
Bolt sizes will vary from model to model and year to year.
Probably the faulty will come back again after moving the car for 5 minutes
Nope, fixed and no problems since

it takes under 5 minuts with af grease gun filt with injektor clean and connected to the pipe with a stell armed hose
Cool
