It is quite apparent that this pastor was soooo very easily seduced by satan's deceptions. This pastor should read the entire Holy Bible in more depth and with better understanding. God does have perfect love and also perfect hate.
I have reasons to suspect that this pastor and his 'church' are lukewarm if not cold. They have been infiltrated_they are lost and scattered.

    • @robertdecker4780
      @robertdecker4780 5 лет назад +7

@@sylencecured77 Its not like he's been seduced and transformed into this proverbial renegade rebel metal-head. He is merely acknowledging that human beings are here to not judge one another and to be open minded to the point of at least not being judgemental, even if what one does for they're own artistic interests or musical carear is personally not you're cup of tea. He states biblically that God gave people creative artistic based talents, and what they choose as far as music should be respected as being they're God Given talent and for them to not be judged because they're music doesn't fit a criteria narrative requirement as sought appropriate for a particular religious based narrative of mere fellow humans, who unfortunately, tend to do so in a critical hypocrisy based playing God type of judgemental approach.

It's so refreshing that this wasn't another person bashing Metallica (or rock/metal in general). Regardless of your opinion on Christianity, Metallica, or this pastor's motives, it's pretty awesome that he at least finds positives in two things that have, historically, been opposed to each other. Christians need to be more like this guy. Try to find God in everything rather than inserting Satan (I'm looking at you, WBC!). Kudos to this guy.

It is people who destroy Christianity, not God. Yes there are what people call hyocrites(s). What they are is imperfect--and fail to recognize it. As Alice Cooper said-if you are a saint, a perfect person--you are in! No need to go to church. Me I am so far from perfect and God knows it and I can be forgiven. If people listen, you can find God everywhere. So before bashing, one should actually listen. On a lighter note, doesnt everyone know "God gave rock'n'roll to you".

I've grown up in a very Christianity religious home and I consider myself to be very religious, but that doesn't mean I can't listen to metal. Obviously there are some metal songs or even bands as a whole that I won't listen to, but that's because they are directly attacking my religion. But I will not bash all metal. Metal is a great outlet and music that should be enjoyed by everyone.

    "The God That Failed"
    Pride you took
    Pride you feel
Pride that you felt when you'd kneel
    Not the word

Not what you thought from above
    It feeds
    It grows
It clouds all that you will know
    Deceit
    Deceive
    Decide just what you believe
I see faith in your eyes
Never you hear the discouraging lies
I hear faith in your cries
    Broken is the promise, betrayal
The healing hand held back by the deepened nail
    Follow the god that failed
    Find your peace
    Find your say
Find the smooth road on your way
    Trust you gave
    A child to save
Left you cold and him in grave
    It feeds
    It grows

Or Leper Messiah, about those TV priests scamming people into insanity for loads of money.
      Spineless from the start,
      sucked into the part
      Circus comes to town,
      you play the lead clown
      Please, please
      Spreading his disease,
      living by his story
      Knees, knees
      Falling to your knees,
      suffer for his glory,
      You will
Time for lust, time for lie
Time to kiss your life goodbye
Send me money, send me green
      Heaven you will meet
      Make a contribution
And you'll get a better seat
      Bow to Leper Messiah!
      Marvel at his tricks,
      need your Sunday fix
      Blind devotion came,
      rotting your brain
      Chain, chain
      Join the endless chain,
      taken by his glamor
      Fame, fame
      Infection is the game,
      stinking drunk with power
      We see
Time for lust, time for lie
Time to kiss your life goodbye
Send me money, send me green
      Heaven you will meet
      Make a contribution
And you'll get the better seat
      Bow to Leper Messiah!
      Witchery, weakening
      Sees the sheep are gathering
      Set the trap, hypnotize
      Now you follow
Time for lust, time for lie
Time to kiss your life goodbye
Send me money, send me green
      Heaven you will meet
      Make a contribution
And you'll get the better seat

For fifty years, heavy metal bands have delved into themes of good and evil, God and Satan, rage and forgiveness, intoxication and sobriety, injustice and righteousness, suffering and relief - all the same themes that run throughout the Bible. I'm glad that some pastors are taking notice. Christian since age 9, metalhead since age 16. I turn 59 this summer and I'm still rocking.

I'm 34 now and I realised that knowing God hates sin, alot of metal deals with social, political, and psychological wrongs or (brokenness of the world) if you will. I think the difference between good and bad music is music that hates sin and blatant malice towards anything that is good. I'll take the music that hates sin thank you. @clipsryan What unproven claims are you referring to?
The analogy still stands. An alcoholic may be in denial of their alcoholism in the same way that a sinner may be in denial of their sin. They think that what they are doing is just fine, and that they aren't causing anyone, including themselves any harm. To tell someone who believes this that what they are doing is wrong, they are going to argue with you and say that they aren't alcoholics, but what they are doing is wrong. same with sin.

I'm just gonna end the whole religion debate here.
    James-christian (science)
Lars - atheist I have heard this enough times but I would like to know where he has stated it.
Dave mustaine - Christian (he still counts)
    Ron - idk
    Cliff- Christian
    Kirk-budist
    Jason- idk
Robert- Christian? I put the mark since I know he has a religious family since in a interview he stated when him and his friend were listening to led zeppelin stair way to heaven backwards his grandma started praying I know he has a religion and we have enough saying he's a christian.

@clipsryan It is an act of love when you tell your friend that their alcoholism is hurting them and that they will die if they quit drinking and get help. If you didn't love them, you wouldn't care if they killed themselves with alcohol. They may hate you, call you names, curse you, & may even quit being your friend for sharing this truth with them, but it is still the loving thing to tell them the truth. The same is true when a Christian shares the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with you

The pastor clearly speaks in this interview about Hetfields mothers battle with cancer and the challenges faced with the Christian Science belief. It would be silly to pretend this well-informed pastor would’ve ignored that, when he’s clearly researched things others have not.
I like this, and I respect the pastor and Metallica. I’m a Christian, a presuppositional apologist and a metal head. The Bible tells us we are all created in Gods image, so to pretend there is not creative goodness in our existence is simply ignorant.

Aw, I’m glad that you are open to this subject. If you find it in your heart to go to a Christian church you really should:).It Can change your life completely when you build a personal relationship with Jesus. If you believe in him and pray to him you can live eternal life in heaven !

Im sorry for the long paragraphs 😬, but one day we will all face judgement day!We have all sinned and therefore have been charged guilty. The only thing that can save us is Jesus Christ and what he did for us on that cross. If we don’t believe in him and repent then we would all go to the lake of fire !:/ But I have the greatest news... if you repeat this prayer out loud and wholeheartedly you can live eternal life in peace! Ok so here is the prayer “Heavenly Father, thank you for your mercy and for sending your one true son to die on the cross for my sins.I confess, I have broken your commandments and I ask for forgiveness.I accept Jesus Christ as my lord and savior and accept him into my heart.I recognize that I didn’t earn my salvation through works but only through Jesus.Thank you for hearing me out and I will try my best to change for you and serve you, Amen.” I really hope you did this prayer, god bless you !!💙

Faith is personal and I believe you can listen to music or watch movies that do not directly have a Christian origin and be able to find the positives. I'm a fan of different superhero movies and I'll find myself thinking on what I might do if I had 'powers'. I've also made the connection between the Spider-Man quote "with great power comes great responsibility" that is almost directly Luke 12:48.

    Jump in the Fire
    Metallica
Down in the depths of my fiery home
    The summons bell will chime
Tempting you and all the Earth
    To join our sinful kind
There is a job to be done and I'm the one
You people make me do it
Now it is time for your fate and I won't hesitate
To pull you down into this pit
    So come on
    Jump in the fire
    So come on
    Jump in the fire
With hell in my eyes and with death in my veins
    The end is closing in
Feeding on the minds of man
    And from their souls within
My disciples all shout to search out
    And they always shall obey
Follow me now my child not the meek or the mild
But do just as I say
    So come on
    Jump in the fire
    So come on
    Jump in the fire
Jump by your will or be taken by force
    I'll get you either way
Trying to keep the hell fire lit
I am stalking you as prey
Living your life as me I am you you see
There is part of me in everyone
So reach down grab my hand walk with me through the land
    Come home where you belong
    So come on
    Jump in the fire
    So come on
    Jump in the fire

Seems like a very decent guy, asking the right questions about the impact of other's life events and I'm sure he's a reassuring presence for people who know him. Choosing to associate his particular religious ideas with a musical experience is very much his choice, but I think it's wrong to 'brand' it as something belonging to the Christian faith. People have been moved by the power of music - and learned to forgive - long before Christian ideas. And they continue to do so now, in parts of the world which have no idea about (and no need for) the Christian faith.

We have a mis-communication here. I meant anyone at Sanctuary or SW sharing the video with Ulrich and Co. I am more than aware that WiD is SW, and that SS is assisting in the production of said work. Perhaps the folks at Metallica need some counseling from Alice (as in Cooper) as did Mustaine and Co. Time for the real "angry prophets" to step up, and start instructing the "young ones." I consider Mustaine a modern day Jeremiah. It would be so cool, for Hetfield and Co. to follow suit.

Being that we learn that Ulrich has a genuine interest in New Hope, has anyone shared your latest video (Waiting in Darkness) with Ulrich and Co.? You probably have. But I was just curious. Amazing developments occurring of late. Ellefson studying to be a Lutheran pastor, and now this with Metallica? Are mountains about to be moved? The next we hear, is that the Big Four, are all converted, and on a ministry tour. Strangers things have happened in history.

Nice to see someone looking for positives in something where the negatives are usually focused on.
Put the time and effort in and it's possible to read anything out of anything, which is where metals reputation comes from.
It's angsty, but the typical metal musician or fan is just a person; zero in the way of Satanism or any other such nonsense. Yes, there's a segment that thrives on shock, but that's the way of the world. It sells to certain audiences.
Then there's the fact metal lyrics are often a lot more metaphorical and analogical than typical "easy listening" stuff.
Those inclined love to deliberately misinterpret them.

  • @stallout78
    @stallout78 6 лет назад

So, can the preacher explain the lyric "The healing hand held back by the deepened nail, Follow the God that failed"?
Nothing about Christ sacrifice was or is a failure.
He tip toes around and skirts repentance.
